Yes but how much is it?

    • Oops. Done. $199

  • Tell them the PRICE SON!!!

  • Where?

  • What's the free shipping Min req?

    • No minimum for this one.

  • +5

Picked this up for $109 price error last year during prime day. Its pretty good, little fiddly to get set up right, and your baby will prob only get 6 months max out of it.

  • +1

Great deal I got this for 235 in Black Friday sales. Yes only used for 6 months but was able to lend it to a couple of friends until we needed it again! Very useful for getting out of the car without waking baby.

    • +1

Did anyone else workout the maths here and something doesn't add up?

  • +4

Don't forget Maxi Cosi have their 10% off code as well which is still working until sometime in June. So this may come downto $180.

    • Thanks. Tried this and it works. Will put it in the post

  • +1

Amazing offer. We didn't buy one for our first and I always swore we didn't need one. But we'll be able to sell this for at least $180 after six months. Plus our newest buggy has the adaptors, which helps make the decision.

    • Does this connect to a particular brand of pram? Sorry I have no idea about this.

      • For many prams you can purchase adapters to suit certain brands baby carriers. Best to check first though as a baby carrier isn’t that helpful if it’s not compatible with your pram.

      • These capsules are designed to fit many prams but they almost always need adaptors. My Silver Cross Wave came with the Maxi Cosi adaptors in the package. Just google your pram. You can often pick the adaptors up for about $50 on eBay. Personally, if I had to buy them I wouldn't have bothered buying this capsule as I'm unlikely to get a huge amount of use out of it and when I sell it, most people won't want the Silver Cross adaptors.

        • Thanks! Haven't got a pram yet so better work out that before I buy something like this.

  • +4

Cheapest it has been was $109.39 on 16th July last year . I purchased it then. Overall been happy with it.

For those who buy it, be aware that this does not come with seat belt locking clip

I called Maxi Cosi at 1300 809 526, they shipped it for free.

  • newly expecting dad. I'm confused with all the terms flying around (stroller/pram/buggy etc) So Capsule? is this a car seat or just a carry item? TIA

    • +1

So Capsule? is this a car seat or just a carry item?

Both! It fits in the car as a car seat but allows you to click it out and click straight into prams. It's designed for a young sleeping bub to stay asleep when transitioning from car. They are great but last around 6 months

    • +1

      Also congrats! Fun times ahead

    • +1

This is a carseat that you can detach from base (while baby is still inside, handy for when they're asleep) and attach onto a pram or you can just hold them by the handle.

It's a luxury item for newborn to approx 6 months..(I would recommend one if you can afford it!)
You will need a new carseat after that. It is super handy because you can put the baby in the capsule before you head to the car and just snap it in or for days when baby is still sleeping in pram/car and you don't have to transfer them over (and risk waking them up)

      • +1

Just to add, 6 months will vary based on your baby. We just stopped using ours at 9 months, some friends may have done it a bit before 6 as they have much larger babies.

        • +1

yeah we had ours until 9 months too haha (asian baby)

    • Also worth noting is there is a lot of them floating around on buy/swap/sells. I got mine 2nd hand in perfect condition for $300 (different model to this), then sold for $230 12 months later. Cheaper than renting them.

    • Capsule is so much more convenient for getting the baby into and out of the car. Bonus points if you can clip it into your pram frame as a seat. Would definitely recommend it.

  • You beauty. I got the stroller but missed the car seat in last year's sale

  • Unless space is an issue, I would highly recommend something like Britax Unity instead. It will last until 12 months easy, even with a big baby. Just make sure you get a newborn insert if you are using it from day 1.

Most of these other capsules are very small and will be outgrown in no time.

Because they are not used very long, just pick one up second hand and sell it when you are done.

  • Great price, of only it was the isofix version!

    • +1

Isofix is only the safer optional overall because so many people install It via seat belt incorrectly. If the car seat is installed correctly (takes more time), it’s actually considered safer. As long as you are not switching the the base in and out frequently, it shouldn’t be a deal breaker.

    • +1

The isofix version sucks anyway. It’s literally an isofix belt screwed to the plastic. Dodgy as (profanity).

  • We have this. It's great, although it's a shame it doesn't have one handed release so you can easily take it out of a pram (in our case the Bugaboo Bee), nor for moving the carry handle in and out of position). Both of those require two separate buttons to be pushes, which means you need a second person or you need to push one at a time. May not seem like much, but if you're in a hurry, you'll notice it. Overall, however, this is a great item. You don't even need the pram sometimes if you're just moving bubba short distances.

  • Great deal! Companies hire capsaules for $150+. Better to get this then sell it!

Any honeys out there wanna make a baby to capitalise on this bargain?

  • Showing $339 for me?

    • Same

      Same

  • I have said this previously but Maxi-Cosi capsules and bases are absolute junk these days. The capsule base has the most bodgy ISOFIX strap you could imagine.

I wouldn't recommend purchasing this car seat at any price, due to it's very poor scores for safety ratings and ease of use. You can see the reviews for the Maxi Cosi Mico here https://www.childcarseats.com.au/find-and-compare-child-car-…

  • No longer working.

  • I just went to get my car seat installed at Baby Bunting and the car-seat installer refused to install the car seat as she noted some irregularities with the car-seat.
It appears that the velcro holding down the car seat padding and cover to the place bassinet is actually stapled into the car-seat instead of glued/bonded and she suspects this may not be genuine. I admit this does look like a rather dodgy job. Otherwise, capsule appears genuine to me with box sealed and australian compliancy stickers and whatnot.

    Anybody else have this issue?

    • Are you able to post a picture?

Did you compare it to the one in store on display at Baby Bunting when you were there?

        Thanks for responding.

I did compare to the one at Baby Bunting, where the velcro is bonded/glued onto the capsule (no staples visible). However, the Baby Bunting one was an “exclusive to Baby Bunting” module.

Was hoping others who also ordered from this deal could clarify whether their seat looks the same or I got stuck with a dudd.

        • I'll try to check mine but FYI, I found this on the Amazon page in a December 2019 review:

The seat cover with velcro - the velcro was not stapled to the capsule, so it ended up pulling up on a hot day.

So maybe it's a corrective action from Maxi Cosi off the back of that feedback?

          • @nc112: Thanks.

Hopefully it’s from corrective action from Maxi Cosi.
Surely Amazon.com wouldn’t be selling knock-off car seats.

            • @kdubs: Sorry for the delay - here's a pic of mine: https://imgur.com/a/SznE1Id

It has the staples as you mentioned but also the back of the velcro is sticky - I just pressed it down onto the plastic as it wasn't fully stuck onto the surface. The staples seem like reinforcement - possibly an update following the feedback as it makes sense that prolonged / excessive heat could loosen the sticky backing.

On the other side though, one of the staples was slightly off the velcro and the velcro was a little twisted but it was all still functional. And given that it's just holding the fabric cover in place, I don't believe there would be any impact to safety.

              Hope that helps.

              • @nc112: Thanks for your update, much appreciated.
                Love this great community

    • Mrs got our one of this fitted at BB a couple of weeks ago. Told she required some part (strap/connection) to fit it to our car properly… Didn't sound right to me, but I have NFI, and she was adamant she wanted to get it sorted.

In the end, glad she did as bub showed up a month early.

Ours is the same - sticky glue and stapled. Not sure what the installer is on about?

      • Hi thanks for replying.

I think the installer was concerned as it didn’t look the same as the Maxi Cosi Mico capsule they stock there.
We went to check together, definitely no staples on the BB one.
Otherwise, apart from the colour, looks pretty identical to the BB one.

It’s been reassuring to know that my seat isn’t an anomaly, I’ve been using it anyway.

        Cheers

    • This is such a laughable concern on BB's part. They're just bummed they didn't make a sale from you.
