    review please someone?

        but only one review though

      • +3

The reviewer never mentions systematically going through the instructions and settings to resolve anything. He then swaps for another and has similar issues. Then has a problem with the staff suggesting user error as he can't get 2 of them to work.

Those who are quick to blame everything and everyone typically aren't the greatest problem solvers.

Just go into it knowing the worst outcome is a little time wasted returning it.

        • Yep. People make 1 star/bad reviews all the time because of spurious crap reasons like 'it wasn't my colour!' etc. Take reviews with a grain of salt.

Going to get one just for the sake of testing and reviewing such a product.

    • Let us know what you think, I'm tempted to get one at only $29.

      • +4

Got it tested yesterday and today, it does its job, but for $29, how good a job it does, its up to the person who valued it at its price.

Attached a image capture from one of the videos on a good day today : https://ibb.co/g498GtR

        • Thanks for posting the photo. Does the video look like FHD? Any other thoughts on the dash cam?

          • +1

@ozbmm: The dashcam itself build quality is definitely at the level of a product sold for $29. It is indeed quite big on my dash behind my rearview mirror.

As far as whether it looks like FHD, it depends how one define what FHD is, but it is recorded at 1920x1080, my upload speaks for itself when it comes to the image quality.

For one who just want a dashcam to record and proof an accident when it happens, I think this is ok. For one that wants to see the license plate of someone who drives by and flicks his finger, then you would be mad at this dashcam. Here is a short clip : https://imgur.com/oSoWoZO

            • @ISO9002: What's the frame rate of the recording? It seems pretty low in parts there but it could be a mismatch during the recoding…

Oh and how big is it? What are the dimensions of the cuboid unit?

              • +1

@sween64: It records in AVI format, and it is recorded at 30 fps.

Dimension (Height × Width × Depth) is about 70mm × 60mm × 40mm (20+20mm, body is 20mm thick, lens is another 20mm long sticking out)

From the suction cup (windshield) to the bottom of the dashcam once installed is about 130mm.

            • @ISO9002: I can see my house from here.

@spock: Really? A fellow tassie? I found more and more tassie here. Nice to meet you.

Im planning to buy just as a dummy one for my spare car that sits in driveway.

  • im thinking with a high impact, it might fall off with the weak rubber window based holder…

    • +1

With a high impact that will be the least of your worries

    • it might fall off

Surely a mount with some flexibility is more likely to survive than a more rigid mounting?

You can always enhance the mounting by "wetting" the suction cup with some silicone rubber, and let it set while attached to the windscreen.

    • Mine held on and seemed like it could support my bodyweight

    • How's the mounting? Solid?

      • +1

I woukd say solid. My first intent of purchase was just fun and to review it. I think im keeping it now.
