2 Months Extra + $10/$20 WISH eGift Card for 12 Month Entertainment Book Membership

211

Get up to 2 months extra + Bonus WISH eGift Card + $50 Discover Queensland voucher + Chance to win

I know a lot of people are not happy with the way they handled the lock-down (or should I say didn't handle?), but IMHO this is a pretty decent 'second prize'.

$10 eGift card for single city, $20 for multi subscription.
Chance to win refers to five prizes of $1,000 worth of WISH eGift cards.

Thanks to Spackbace for the 'heads up'.

Don't forget to choose your favourite charity (in step 2) - they get 20% of the subscription fee!

  • Membership of what, not in title or description?

    • Oops! Fixed.

  • This seems to be the best offer yet. Problem is we don’t know how many restaurants we will be able to use these vouchers at. So I think I will hold off.

The Entertainment use to be good but it's crap now. So many free alternatives. Save your money. It's truly an outdated discount model. HARD PASS

    • +3

Also a lot of restaurants were going out of business prior to covid19 so I imagine a lot more will also be no longer open to accept the coupons.

    • +1

What are the best free alternatives?

      • +1

Plus one for the free alternatives….I’m still a customer of EB

        • Thefork and eatclub are probably what he means by free alternatives. However imo not really comparable as they are mostly cheaper/less popular restaurants whereas entertainment book has smaller discounts but for more highly rated and even hatted places.

  • +8

I’ll take two extra months on my EXISTING entertainment book membership and the $10 voucher…..as reimbursement for their lack of covid action :)

    • +1

yeah they told me they'd be providing a response to the covid-19 pandemic restrictions but still nothing.. their customer service team have gone completely AWOL.

      • +1

They're pushing the new digital book and are non-compos when it comes to the old one.

  • +1

isn't the KFC one a better deal?
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/456511 I always use the "good" vouchers by the end of the 12 months period.

  • It would be cool if they gave something different than the $50 QLD rubbish with the other bonuses .

    • +1

Like give you $50 cash, so the book becomes free or something?

  • Also worth a mention that you could sign up now looking at a few places you wouldn’t mind using it at and then when you go to use it, it has miraculously disappeared! Eg, my friend had a digital copy and San Churro was not in her copy and it was in my hard book copy!! So they can take stuff off whenever they decide.

    • care to share which city and edition?

Because San Churro is definitely still in my digital edition

    • +1

If they remove something from the digital copy, you can't use your hard copy either. Obviously the restaurant can still decide to accept, but I see many people that mention they don't.

  • I’ve had a few restaurants and what not turn down a voucher because the the ownership of restaurant changes. (This was way before covid19)
So just a heads up for anyone signing up, a lot of restaurants and shops may have changed hands recently.

  • Stay away from this lot - dodgy as!

  • +2

I’ve been a loyal customer for the last 7 years or so but the recent push to digital and lack of extension or compensation for the 2019/2020 book has just ruined the experience

  • Depends what else you have access to, but the access to digital e-gift cards often pays for it. 5% off Woolworths for example. Add in discounts to a zoo, aquarium etc and you’re ahead. Not ideal, but just some ideas. With covid, ymmv.

    • +1

you can get discounted vouchers from cashrewards for free and they don't even include coles anymore

the value for entertainment books is incredibly questionable now with so many free alternatives.

  • So better NOT to activate as you get extra 3 months? 14 (activated) vs 17 months (not activated)? And only activate when you are going to use the 1st voucher.

    EXTRA MEMBERSHIP MONTHS (T&Cs)
*2 months extra Membership applies to activated Single City and Multi City purchased between 22 May and 13 July 2020. From time of purchase, an Activation Code must be activated within three months. If activated within three months, the Membership will expire 14 months from the Activation Date. If not activated within three months, the Membership will expire 17 months from the Purchase Date.

    • Can’t see that.
Your still only getting 14 months of usage if you activate straight away or in 3months
      Today (0 + 14=14)
      3 months time (-3 + 17=14).
      Worse if in 4 months time (-4 + 17=13)
Noting that the difference is in activate and purchase dates.

    assumed purchased today:
activate today -> 0+14 = 14 months from activation date.
activate at end of 3rd month -> +14 months from activation date = 17 months.
do not activate within 3 months -> 17 months from today (purchase date).
