OCZ Vertex Plus 120GB - $159

130

hi all,

I think $159 is not bad for a 120G SSD Drive, I'm not sure how much for delivery. Please remove if someone already posted

OCZ Vertex Plus Solid State Drives are the faster, cooler, quieter, and more durable alternative to conventional hard disc drives. In combination with the latest flash memory, the Vertex Plus features the revolutionary new Indilinx Arowana FTL with HyperQueuing, which significantly increases sequential write speeds and random IOPS over the previous generation FTL. With excellent reliability and lower power consuming NAND flash, these SSDs use less energy while giving you real-world results in your everyday computing and battery life. Complete with TRIM support, Vertex Plus is the ultimate notebook or desktop upgrade.

Compared to its predecessor, Vertex Plus features higher sequential speeds along with improved 4KB random write IOPS, while offering excellent uncompressed data performance. Thanks to cost effective NAND and controller technology, the Vertex Plus offers lower cost per gigabyte configurations than competing drives on the market, making them excellent starting points into the world of SSDs.

120GB Max Performance:

Max Read: up to 250 MB/s
Max Write: up to 160 MB/s
Random Write 4k (Aligned): 4,800 IOPS

"Please remove if someone already posted" —> doesnt work that way Mate. you suppose to check if your post isnt a duplicate, not asking people to do it for you.

    • I agree.

Agreed, no point saying it as it will get removed if it is a dupe.

There's actually a tick box in the posting form that lets you bypass the duplicate check, if you leave that unticked it should do the job for you.

please watch this ssd as its Random Write 4k (Aligned) is only 4,800 IOPS, which isn't good compare to any other ssd out there.

i personally would not touch it.

    • what the h*ll does that mean anyway? :P

      • +2

It can write 4800 random 4k blocks per second which means it is really slow on fragmented data or writing lots of small files. The crucial M4 is rated at 35,000. Hence it is very slow in comparison.

        • Snip.

    • It's $159 for 120GB, any other SSD out there would be more expensive.

EDIT: Just noticed it's the Vertex+ series, not even 2.

  • Not a deal, seems to be a standard price. Same price as umart usual price

very high failure rate on the 60gb version of these, based on newegg reviews (60gb can be had for $79 at mwave, pccg, netplus etc..) might be as simple as a firmware fix.

  • that's why Mwave is putting it in a system and selling for $299 with 1Gb graphic card. Stay away from it.
