Marketing spiel:
Pairing impressive imaging capabilities with an especially compact design, the silver FUJIFILM X-T30 is a versatile mirrorless camera distinguished by advanced stills and video recording along with sleek and intuitive handling characteristics. Featuring a revised image sensor and processor, both high-resolution stills and 4K video can be recorded while an apt autofocus system delivers quick and accurate focusing performance. The sensor, a 26.1MP APS-C-format X-Trans CMOS 4, features a back-illuminated design, to promote greater image quality throughout the sensitivity range, along with a 425-point phase-detection autofocus system for quick, precise AF performance and subject tracking. Complementing the imaging and focusing is the X-Processor 4, which uses four CPUs for faster image processing as well as continuous shooting up to 8 fps with a mechanical shutter, 30 fps shooting at a 1.25x crop and electronic shutter, and internal DCI/UHD 4K30 video recording.

    Good price.
Hmmmm, this or the X100V…decisions, decisions.

    • I so want the X100V.

      • I so want that too. Been having the urge to sell my X-T2.

        • Teds have X100V them for $2k ?
          I have the X100

    • why not X-E3?

  • I have the X-T20 with three lenses and have had a load of DSLRs over the last 15 years. I stopped using my Fujifilm when I got my Huawei Mate 20 Pro. I never thought that would happen but while the shots don't turn out as well I still have a far better library of photos now because I'm taking photos far more often. I'm even post processing more using Snapseed.

lol. What are you photographing? The small arse phone sensors are good for Insta only because 90% of insta kings and queens DGAF. I have a Pixel 4 and 3a which have better photo quality than P20 series. Also a Fuji X-E3 with primes like 35 f/1.4 and 56 f/1.2 and 27mm f/2.8 pancake lens (got it for $57), D750 with Sigma 35/50/135 and Tamron 90mm Macro. My Fuji system is far far more superior on prints (large photobooks) as well as in terms of colour science, post processing adjustability and sharpness. Even that 27mm is sharper then anyone out there in the market.

Can someone please suggest a mirrorless camera for me. Will be using it for still photos, not sport or anything and wanting to upgrade so I can take better photos compared to a mobile phone camera. Budget would around $1000-1200. Was looking at Canon M50 but not too sure. Have never owned a camera before.

My 2c, but I have a soft spot for Olympus. If you're going mirrorless, these guys wrote the book.

      • Thanks very much for the heads up. Appreciate it.

      • ^WHS. +1 for the MFT format (have had the OMD EM5 and Lumix GH4). Although I do like to experience different cameras/formats. Note that good lens can cost as much or more than the camera itself.

    • Why not get a Canon 500D SLR second hand. Probably $200 with an 18-55mm zoom. First camera. My old 450D still takes great photos. I have a 1.5 x 3M print on the wall from it.

I have a 70D now as my primary.

Trying to go mirrorless due to a small form factor and possible ease of use that comes with a mirrorless camera. Can't imagine myself carrying too much stuff with a young child.

Can't go wrong with the Sony Alpha line. The a6000 with 16-50mm kit lens can be had for about $800 Aus retail these days. Well within budget, plenty left over to put towards a second lens or accessories (memory card, second battery, bag, etc). Alternatively, the a6100 (much newer) with the same kit lens also comes in just under your 1200 budget. Both are excellent cameras. You'll out grow the lens before either of the bodies. The Alpha range (especially with the 16-50mm) are impressively small for what they offer.

Thanks for your detailed comment too. Will look these cameras up right now.
