With the discontinued SKX line going up in price, the Orient Kamasu has been gaining in popularity over the past year and has been touted by some as the best affordable dive watch or the SKX replacement.

These usually goes for $350-450 on Amazon and is currently $199 USD (plus shipping) from Jomashop.

In addition, I thought I'd share here's another lovely watch which I have been eyeing for a while: Orient Union Automatic FEV0V004SH Men's Watch - $214.50 ($195 + 10% GST)

It is not a greatly-specced watch, i.e. non-hacking, no hand winding, no quickset day change, mineral crystal etc. However, it does have a lovely guilloche dial with blue hands (similar to Orient Senator FD0F003W) and has the famous Rolex day date display. I'm a big fan of guilloche dial and I think that this dial one of the nicest at this price point, especially for a dress watch that only gets worn on rare occasions.

About time we had deals on the Kamasu!

tempting .. have mako 2 already.

    • The Mako 2 and Ray 2 are both great watches, probably the only ones that could stack up against the SKX during the time. My only issue with them (and SKX) is the lack of sapphire glass.

        SKX 7s26 is a poor excuse for a movt. that's in a $600 watch let alone a $300 watch… for $100 its acceptable.

        • To be fair, the SKX has been discontinued and $600 is not the Seiko retail price but secondary market price

    • I think the green version is the most popular model, followed by the red version. I recall once seeing the green model for a little less than $500 on Amazon, but it's currently $700

      • I totally agree that the green looks the best followed by the red version :)

    • Do you have a link to the green Mako III? The Amazon pricing is pretty steep…

    Blue.

What can you say? Orient does what Seiko cant. And Orient are owned by Seiko (Seiko-Epson…)

Sapphire, inhouse hacking handwind movt. Made in Japan. Not ISO but JIS rated. 42mm is ok. Impossible to beat.

    • what do you mean what seiko cant?

Wow great price. If I wasn't so enamoured with this I'd be all over it.

    • Me too.

    • Lovely choice - the red bezel reminds me of Tudor Black Bay.

I had a quick look and it's currently $183.70 USD delivered from Jomashop using the code 'DNEWSFS10' or $307.91 AUD from their eBay store.

      • I may have to pull the pin on jomashop now!

    • I really like that Orient. Probably my favourite. Love the hands and bezel. No sapphire though unfortunately and that's pretty much a minimal standard for me.

Hey OP, maybe you should actually link to the Manontime forum where the code was pilfered from. It's a friendly community and should get some credit.

Also, remove the Horology House links. Chris and his nefarious practices do not deserve the monetizing on YouTube. Notice he has comments disabled.

Thanks for letting me know about Manontime forum, I actually had no idea that it was a forum as I simply went to google for discount codes and tried them until I found one that works.

As per your suggestions, I've added them to the post and also removed Horology House's link.

  • dammit…… i have been eyeing on the Orient for quite some time and pulled the trigger. IDK why but i also bought the skx009… the code seems to be working site wide incase you guys didnt know.
