Bought one of these for my old rodeo. Paid same price back in early 2015.
Used it once, thinking the car was then invincible and could go anywhere….
Ended up just a heavy weight hangin on the front of the car that never worked after that one time.
Did you tear it down for a service? Return it for another one?
Took it off before sold the old ute.

The Domin8r winches from 4wdsupacentre.com.au are better winches for the same money. The Ridge Rider are ok at this price, but the $1k rrp is very optimistic when you can get a Runva or Carbon winch cheaper.
Why do you say the supacentre ones are better?
It's just a better unit, 7.2hp motor compared to 6.6 in the Ridge Ryder. A few more issues with the solenoid and water ingress on the Ridge Ryder.
Dont get me wrong, the Ridge Ryder isnt a bad winch and with proper care and maintenance could last a long time but the Domin8r just offers a bit better value for around the same coin every day of the week.
Also some of the sellers of Runva and Carbon winches on Ebay are included in sales from time to time bringing those down to the high $7xx mark if you want to spend a but more for something a lot better.
Is this from real world comparison or claimed specs?
BCF was just clearing this exact model out for $200. Picked one up a few weeks ago. Nothing left now though.

I've had this winch for a couple of years now. Do a fair bit of off roading and have used it quite a few times over that time. Have never had a problem with it at all. Before installing i did open the gearbox and pack it with high quality grease.
I remember , when I bought this for $50 from catch of the day , then they Refunded my money , right away . I was day dreaming of Buying a Beaten up hilux as an Accessory for my Remote controlled winch of $50.
