Cheaper than last month's deal on Xbox One for the base game. Part of EA Access if you have that already.

Or, thanks to hollykryten for pointing out, Deluxe Party Edition for $6.99

Hasnt this always been the case with the Sims? i remember it always have a heap of expansion and stuff packs.

From memory the base games are still great and full of a heap of content - unless this has changed for Sims 4?

Assuming you are enjoying the game and are hooked in and want more content, getting the expansions packs i wouldnt see as an issue?

Sims 4 base game has attracted a heap of controversy as they've actually made it pretty bare of the usual features (moreso than past Sims games) so they can include them in later expansion packs.

It's why I have stopped gaming largely. There are a few exclusions but gaming ain't what it used to be

      • It's what happens when people from Marketing take the reigns and have to yield profit for the companies. They don't give a shit about the games the companies are developing. It's just a product for them to sell to make profit.

        • Have you seen the C&C remaster? There were a lot of shits given when making that.

          • +1

            @ssquid: That's like the exception.

I can counter with: Warcraft III: Reforged.

            • @Munki: I thought we were talking about EA.

              • @ssquid: I could give many more examples if we were limiting it to just EA…

But I feel it is more an industry-wide issue.

          • @ssquid: IS the remaster really good? I havent played it. Played all the original games though

            • +1

@lonewolf: It's the same game(s) underneath but with great graphics/framerate/UI/QoL fixes.
              Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjZQZgeSMx8
Doesn't really show how much of an improvement it is though because the "old" footage they used is the new game with the old sprites, not the original game that ran at only 320x200 at around 35fps.

              • @ssquid: I might have to take a look, i really enjoyed the originals when they first came out.

What happened to the Sims, Sims 1 and 2 was the shit back in the day. Too many expansion packs literally costing a thousand dollars to own them all have ruined this once great franchise.

    • +1

The Sims 1 had 7 expansion packs, it's not like they started doing it just with the later games.

      • It was more spread out though and i think was much better packs when they were released?

  • Can you use a keyboard with the xbox version? Controller would be annoying for this game?

    • Yep, they added support for keyboard and mouse last year in v1.14 update.

EA should make one with far-right characters, and call it 'The Simps'

    • -3

Well I designed an antifa sim, who destroyed and vandalised everything lol

I just bought The Sims 4 Deluxe Party Edition for Xbox One as it's only $3 more at $6.99 and it comes with 3 DLC packs. I believe that i did pretty well there.

Sorry it's $2 more, not $3. Not much more at all.
