Blue still in stock.
Get some aceed into you with Behringer's fantastic clone of the classic Roland acid machine: TB-303. This price is about $28 cheaper than local stores and while I prefer to support the smaller businesses, this is too good hard to ignore.

I have a dream: I imagine a world where every little girl and boy have their own aceeed maschine and they are going around tweaking and squelching to everyone's delight thus making the world a better place!

Would prefer Bezos not get my cash over $28 (that is RRP too, no doubt you could negotiate a bit cheaper from locals stores)

    • +2

Definitely agree, but you could say that for buying anything from Amazon. Plus this is ozbargain - careful with your comments though, or you'll be forced to hand your OzB card back :-).

In fact we could say that about Behringer also. Their behaviour is a bit on the nose with many people.

      • +3

Agreed, a discount is a discount, I was just pointing out that you could likely get very close to the same price with a guaranteed AU power supply, while keeping StoreDJ et al alive.

        • +2

Yeah considering the number of music stores that have gone bust, or were on the brink in the better times let alone in today's economy for $28 extra (maximum) I'd rather support the local guys and have local warranty. Thanks OP for sharing though 🙂

If you want to support local businesses, places like StoreDJ are normally happy to price match.
This is what I would do.

    • great suggestion. a way to stick it to bezos! (and hence why I also linked to storeDJ as well, who seem to have it in stock)

I'm looking for toys that I don't need and will not use after unboxing them.

What is this? What does it do?

    • +2

It's a complete analog synthesiser based on the legendary Roland 303, famous for it's acid bass sound.
I think analog synths make amazing desktop toys; lots of buttons and knobs and you can produce near endless weird noises.

Come on you **** let's have some bargain acid!

    Oh hello!

  • Must resist.. must resist.

    • I'll try to resist until 5pm. On the other hand I could sell my Aira TB-3, which would probably pay for this. Hmm…

      • What's the difference between the Aira and the Behringer?

        • Lots. Aira is fully digital, mostly presets with limited tweakability. It does a reasonable job of emulating the original TB-303 sound. It also has lots of other non-TB-303 sound presets. Behringer TD-3 on the other hand is pretty much a replica of the original, now ridiculously expensive, TB-303. It is fully analogue (audio path that is), has lots of controls on the top panel and I think they've added some additional "digital age" features not available in 1982, such as USB.

@findingbargains: TD-3 also includes an analog distortion circuit "modelled after the DS-1". Apparently Behringer were trying to get the Devil Fish mod guys to work on this clone so perhaps it's inspired by that (amazing) sound.

            • +1

@flopsy: Yes there is a whole saga of the ugly negotiations fallout between the DevilFish guy and Behringer captured on various forums. Makes for some interesting reading if you follow the industry.
