Don't risk it. If you have dead pixel can't easily return this to China.

The closest option for this type/price is AOC CU34G2X , about $860 local stock.

    • Out of stock as far as I can see on Staticice for all stockists :(

    • +1

Looks like an amazing monitor. I'd rather wait for stock of this aoc, over getting the Xiaomi one

  • I purchased an Ultrawide (LG) whilst in China off a similar site. It fried something internally towards the end of the warranty period. It was impossible to get the warranty recognised as it has to go through the seller in China.

Just a cautionary tale for those on the fence. Get one that uses the same panel off Kogan or somewhere local.

Even if it wasn't impossible, the freight would have been insane to get it back.

  • +1

Did anyone else notice it says it ships from an Australian warehouse? I'm actually kind of tempted now.

  • This or the Kogan posted for music production? Will probably never game on it, just a work station and music.

  • How's the spyware on this one?

    /Runs :P

  • +1

Price in China is actually around $480 aud for this monitor… Damn… the price Kicks butts of all 34inch 144hz gaming mornitor

  • This might be overkill for excel and just tiny amount of gaming. What would people recommend for specs for that purpose? Would probably like to still have it at 34”

    • Tiny amount of quality gaming or large amount of low graphics gaming? Without knowing hard to tell. I game rarely, but when I do, I prefer the graphics to look good :) This resolution at least requires a 2060 super as a bare minimum to get playable 50 FPS at medium high settings. and a 2080 super or 2080ti to utilize high refresh rates.

      • I would say maybe 1-2 hours worth of pc games a week tops. I need a monitor for work as my 24” died and was going to get 2x 24”

  • What is the downside of this not being ips panel?

    • +2

There's upsides of VA too though

      • Like?

        • +1

          https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/ips-led-vs-va-lcd

Main advantage of IPS is viewing angle I think, can get better contrast on VA

          • +2

@ln28909: I like better VA. IPS is too overrated. Bad blacks, lower contrast, bad to use in a dark room

            • @Dienk: OK, So if you had the choice to pick 144 IPS vs 144 VA at the same price considering both have HDR 10 support, which one would you pick and why?

        • +1

          Better contrast ratio. Better blacks.

  • Would this be good for video editing and watching movies?

    • No. IPS would have better consistent colours

  • Sorry. Not very experienced at this., it says on website $569USD.. how do u get it to $449?

    • Pretty sure when the coupon code is applied at checkout it adjusts.

    • Use the BGXM34AU coupon code. But I personally wouldn't buy this monitor.

  • How does this compare to the "1ms IPS" panels going around the market currently?

    https://www.overclockers.co.uk/iiyama-g-master-gb3461wqsu-b1…

    • +1

I can't speak for that exact model, but while IPS is a definite improvement, however it's not curved. You'll probably find you want curved for this size. It takes up so much of your vision that the edges of the screen are noticeably further away, which curved mitigates.

  • Kogan's equivalent screen often comes down to 600-700 on sale. (I have it and I have been very happy)

Just something else to consider. You might have to wait and their warranty isn't high-though of, but neither of those are going to be beaten by slow-shipping this from China.

    • Reading the description it can actually ship from Australia (or China, or Hong Kong), I suspect that they have a factory or stock somewhere here.

      • I stand corrected on the shipping front!

I Personally own this one in China and the Alienware 3418DW in Australia. In China it is much cheaper to buy. retail price is about $500 AU dollars. It is a great monitor and does improve your gaming experience a lot. However, I believe it is not an IPS pannel compare to the 3418DW, but the fresh rate is higher 144hz vs 120hz.

What say guys, should I bite the bullet?

Just tried to check out with the coupon and it said coupon can only be used 30 times. So I'm guessing it's all out… Oh well

  • I brought a monitor from eBay Korea seller.
The monitor wasn’t able to handle the advertised 100hz rate.
It would also have some small thin black horizontal lines flickering.
I wasn’t able to return it and have been stuck using it for 2 years.
    For monitors, BUY locally.

Just a quick check on Aliexpress. And found it for much cheaper.

But personally I only used twice of aliexpress before and both items are on boat because of the recent pandemic.

$809 is not cheaper than $692?

Unless i'm missing something. This deal also seems to be shipped from aus

    • +1

Not just $809… also note that GST is not factored into Aliexpress displayed pricing. You have to add the product to the cart and then start the checkout process to calculate GST.

US $609.17 after GST applies so it is a whopping $873.87 AUD. A lot pricier than Banggood.

Got this message when applying the code.

This coupon can only be used 30 times.

    • What I said about 3 hours ago :-)

  • This is only A$399 on their official website?

    • Which official website?

Just received the monitor today. Shipping was nice and fast. Looks like Banggood's promise of fast shipping and no GST is working pretty well with their local AU warehouse.

Quality of the monitor itself is real nice. No dead pixels or any problems that I can see as of yet (fingers crossed no issues) and if cashback goes through seems to be a pretty good price for a 34" VA monitor with 1440p and 144Hz and >100%sRGB for under $650.

Ordered last weekend.. arrived today. Occupies a lot of real estate… but no complaints at this stage.. prob somewhat underpowered gpl to run it properly though!

  • +2

Mine has arrived without issue, it is nothing short of extraordinary - Xiaomi design with the magnetic back plate to hide cables and the ease of assembly is so good, quality exceptional - I know there's a long road ahead, but so far.. so good 💪

    • +2

Mine arrived yesterday too. No dead pixels. Screen is amazing. Would gamble again for the price.

      • Yep, I'm with you… Game changer quality
