      Invalid serial number.
Will try contact the promo team

      • May be we have to wait longer for Samsung to solve out their serial number, they may have mess up their serial numbers.

      • have been contacted promo team via email on Monday, but still no respond until today.

  • So turns out everyones selling at $257 pre ebayplus 20% discount net at $205.6 freeshipping. Not sure if CR/Shopback works.

    I bought from https://www.onlinecomputer.com.au/117620
Samsung aren't accepting the 15 character serial number on drive.

      Same issue

Any updates on the redemptions from onlinecomp etc?

    • +1

Online chat on Samsung SSD promo page, they are only for sales but they will help to report back to their support term.

I told them nobody reply email from [email protected]

      • Thanks, I gave online comp a call and they were adamant their drives were eligible for the cash back and that "many of their customers had registered no problems"

Their prices are still the cheapest deal at least for the NVME Evos, the sellers eligible for the latest ebay 20% off seem to have jacked up their prices. What a surprise!

      • same,I send email to the promo team on Monday 15. but still no reply until today.
do you have any news from them?

  • +1

Good ol' Samsung, they haven't changed a bit.

Also having issue with serial number. Email sent to promos.au Monday, no response. Escalated through phone support today.

    • I have received reply and had SN issue fixed tha samsung promo so if they haven't helped you by now it shouldn't be long.

  • Same serial number issue here - had to email them too.
    (Purchased from Umart in-store)

  • A neg for all those who never got the Cashback or took ages or had to go through all troubles - for previous deal.
    Price is also inflated.

    • Agree For me it's not worth the hassle

  • Got a reply from Samsung today, lets see what happens.

Sorry to hear you are having issues claiming our SSD promotion.
I have sent your serial card details to our IT team who will sort this for you.
When the issue has been resolved I will reach back out and let you know so that you can submit your claim.
    Kind regards

Merged from SAMSUNG EOFY CASH BACK WEBSITE PROBLEM

I am having problems registering my EVO860 SSD drive on the Samsung Cash Back Website.
Wonder if any ozbargainers have the same problems registering their SSD's. It does not recognise my Serial Number and error message reads "Invalid Serial No.". I Live Chat the agent and they confirm my SSD is Valid and Genuine. Emailed Samsung but no response for a week now. Thanks for your help.

    • I remember that there was one extra letter that you had to exclude or something like that.

    • @Lexus101 We need to open the box and read the serial number on the drive itself, which has an extra alphabet at the end.

      • +1

Read this thread he is not the only one, a lot of people have the same invalid serial number issue.

Latest update, after receiving email back from samsung redemptions as i posted above i recieved another today. Have now had no problem filling in and sending redemption in.

    Thanks for your patience.

I was able to get my claim in before things going pear shape around the validity of SN's… Glad to read it's back up and going!

I just checked the status of my claim, and I noticed it's been validated.

      • It will take month may be months.

      • Still waiting…

        • +2

The terms and conditions say they have 28 days after validation plus allow extra for it to actually transfer. Past promotions they definitely waited the whole 28 days before making the transfer. I've got 3-5 over the last 2-3 promotions and it always showed up in my account after 29-33 days. This time I can't even submit :\

        • Did you get your cashback yet, mine was validated on the 7th of July and i have not yet received it

  • Are there any other cheaper but still good options for 250GB or 500GB SATA III 2.5" SSDs?

  • +1

Website still isn't working for me. Very time consuming going through the steps to get the INVALID SERIAL NUMBER / IMEI message. The number seems to include three identical numerical zeros, I wasted some trying alphabetical "O"s in different combinations with numerical 0s, great fun. I've gone through email, they've requested a pic of SSD.

    • This is so dumb, they need to let you submit and then just validate this at their end rather than on submission.

  • Is Online Computer / Online Centre a reputable seller?

  • Received email from them and replied with a photo of the drive with serial number, waiting for them to get back to me.

invalid serial, cannot claim. what an utter waste of time.

25th June - First and only email sent with relevant photos
1st July - Email reply to say that they have rectified the error and it's good to go.

      Waiting on the money now.

  • I never had a problem with the last 2-3 promotions I've purchased from, but the actual 15 digit S/N from the drive isn't working this time. They're obviously got new drives or a different S/N algorithm the form doesn't accept anymore. The length is right as that's a different error message. My drive looks like it was only made in April, so maybe not in their system yet.

  • +1

Same boat as others. S/N not recognised (purchased from KS Computer Technology).

Sent an email to the promos.au email address and haven't heard back at all. Called the support line and they handballed hard to the email address as the "only" way to resolve so I have sent another email…

    Good times.

Just got my "your serial number issue has been resolved" email.

      Claim submitted.

Not sure if the follow up yesterday made the difference but took a week from the original email.

But until this moment they didn't pay me. Any news?

    It's a 1tb 860 qvo, I bought at centrecom website

    • Past promotions it's taken them a little longer than promised to pay and they say to allow 28 days to be paid. I wouldn't panic until it's been 30 ish days from your validation completed date.

Eligible Claimants should allow twenty-eight (28) days from the date their claim is
deemed valid by the Promoter for the EFT to be made to their nominated bank
account. The Eligible Claimant may need to allow further time for the funds to be
      cleared by their bank

Meanwhile for those of us who are still unable to submit the clock is ticking as you're supposed to submit within 28 days of purchase :\

  • Finally they resolved the serial number issue and submitted claim today.

This stupid INVALID SERIAL NUMBER / IMEI issue from the Samsung https://samsung-redemption.com/au website is still happenning

      • Thanks mate, have sent them <[email protected]> an email

        • -2

          Hi guys,

Try to open your box, the serial number should be 15 digits on the product itself, the box printed is only 14 digits. therefore you guys have an invalid S/N claim
Let me know if that work for you :)

          • @Corsair2: This is not the problem, the form on the website did NOT accept the 15 digit number on the product. I sent them an email a few days ago and they seem to have fixed it at least for mine when I tried again just then (exactly the same number as I've been copy/pasting it every half day or so for the last few days). No response to my email, it just started working.

You get a different error for a 14 digit S/N vs a 15 digit one that is 'invalid'. Either they changed their S/N check digit method or they have a bunch of SSD's out there that are 'too new' to be in the system yet and it requires a lookup. Mine was only made in April….

          • @Corsair2: People didn't read and still think we forgot one digit.

            • @superforever: Try to cmt to help out, no ideas why get down vote even if it doesnt work for you guys. Anyway goodluck

              • @Corsair2: Almost this whole page are talking about this invalid serial number issue from Samsung.

  • Same problem still happening, wont accept S/N. Calls it invalid. Lot of work and angst to get my 22 bucks!
Will go the email route that everyone's doing.

*I'm guessing there's no point in ringing retailer about this(online comp.
*Email sent. Will follow up with ph call on Mon 6th of July.

  • Update - contact the Samsung Australia team via Facebook and send them a photo of your SSD/M2 showing the serial number and model - they will validate and update their system to allow your redemption to proceed.

    • I did this last week and got a response but still not working. How about you?

      • What response they reply?

      • Thursday - Sent email to [email protected] with 15 digit S/N (One on back of product).
Friday - got a reply that they forwarded to relevant department.
Monday - got confirmation that it was fixed.
Tuesday - Claim has been accepted.

  • I had this issue too with my 970 Evo Plus. Will contact them via email and Facebook and see what they come back with.

    • +1

Sending an email to [email protected] with 15 digit S/N (One on back of product) will be sufficient.

      • Thank you! I appreciate it.

        • As superforever mentioned, do attach photographic evidence.

      • They asked me for photo of the serial

        • Oh yeah… probably helps to have proof of purchase and serial photos too. I was only reading the body text of email and forgot about attachments.

          • @ATangk: They only asked for the photo of serial number and after they added it back to their system you will have to resubmit it again online.

  • Update on mine (as above, purchased from Umart on 16th June, had to email their promotions team over a 2 week period).

The redemption was finally validated on the 3rd of June.

Now the waiting game until August 1st (28 days later) for the funds to clear.
This has been an infuriating process.

I got the cashback today, $19 about ssd 1tb 860 qvo. I bought 10th of June and registered for cashback on 14th of June. Thanks

    • Thanks, this made me check my bank statement and surprised to see my $19 cashback came through yesterday!

how long did it take to get your cashback from Samsung?

        Over a month.

  • Hooray. I got my cashback in my account.
After the Ben and Jerry's debacle, I wasn't sure it would get paid.
Mind you, I wanted the SSD anyway, so in this case, it was a bonus (as opposed to buying the B&J because of the cashback).

  • Bought latest 1TB EVO from SE, no more problem with serial number.

  • Received my orders today, submitted cashback at 1pm this afternoon and have already received emails stating that it has been processed.

Don't get caught out like me however, 3 of my 6 rebates have been declined due to household maximum limit being reached, cheekily hidden in the t&c's PDF and not under the main promo T&C's

    • have been declined due to household maximum limit being reached

How many claim you have per account?

  • +1

PSA: To anyone still facing issues with the 14 characters S/N on the box and the website asking for 15 chars, check the serial ON THE DRIVE, and not on the box (or on the invoice).

The vendors will usually pick the serial from the box to put on the invoice, so as to avoid opening it. Samsung is the one to blame here as they have put 14 chars on the box but the actual drive has a 15 character serial number printed on it.

Has anyone had any problems completing the cashback from the Samsung promo ?

I purchased the 860 EVO in July from Budget PC after this ozbargain post - (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/543548) however the website isn't taking the serial number, and their contact form appears to be broken as well.

    • You need to check the correct 860 Evo link.. There is two there..I had the same issue

    • +3

Are you using the serial number that's printed on the drive? The serial number on the box is missing the last character
