Worth swapping out my ps4 hdd with this?

    • Not much of a performance gain. But you could have this as your internal PS4 drive, then use the current 1TB one as an expansion storage for it in a USB enclosure.

If it’s a PS4 Pro the game loading will be notably faster.
If it’s the original or slim PS4 the ssd will be bottlenecked by the SATA II hard drive interface which results in only a minor decrease in loading times.
Not worth it if you don’t have the pro imo

Have the pro so nice to hear.
        Thanks!

I have the original PS4 and I upgraded to SSD - for some games such as Persona 5 - the load time decrease was significant and it made my overall experience much more pleasant.

    • For PS4 Pro, as the internal storage is with a SATA3, with bandwidth of 6Gb/s , it is definitely worth to Upgrade to SSD for replacing the HDD with 5400 RPM (550MB/s from 100MB/S). For PS4 or PS4 slim, it is better to put the SSD into a enclosure as PS4 has USB3.0 (or now is renames as USB3.1 gen 1) ports, USB3 has a bandwidth of 5Gb/s, slightly lower then SATA3, but still better than SATA2 (3Gb/s).

      nvm, beaten by porthos.

  • Noice! Perfect timing as I just about to order one…and umart is on the list participating resellers so I can pick it up with the other couple things I need.

As OP said in the linked deal, if you can, I'd wait for the 20% off eBay starting on the 15th. Get the cashback along with that

    • Sorry for the silly question but I saw that Ebay already have what is effectively a 10% off for Plus members now. $10 off $100 and $50 off $500 etc.
Is OP saying that this will be increased to 20% on the 15th after the current 10% promo ends? That's going to be huge as I'm currently planning a build and hesitating thanks to the COVID tax. TIA

10% iff you manage to spend exactly $100, $500 or $2000. Not a very good deal at all imo
The 20% off will almost certainly be from a small list of selected seller (likely the usual suspects)
These guys are known for price jacking, I wouldn't hold my breath for any particularly good prices but I suspect it might be a little cheaper than any current prices

    • +1

Likely the usual price-jacking sellers, it might end up being slightly cheaper

        Thanks for your insights.
Aye, had a quick browse and saw that most prices on fleabay are more than 20% higher than Centrecom to begin with so kinda moot

$155 - $19 cashback = $136 seems like a pretty good price on the 1TB QVO, as well.

  • How long does the cashbacks usually take?

    • Mine took about 5 weeks but this was a few promotions ago now (end 2018/start 2019)

  • Is this work swapping for an old macbook pro?

    • Depends on the Macbook Pro. Pre 2012, probably.

  • I got this ages ago. I get this message in my Samsung magician,"Sata 2 3Gb/s - sata 3 is available". Does anyone know how to fix it? I've been trying for months.

    • How old is your motherboard? Model if you can? On older boards, not all ports support full sata 3/6gbs

  • -1

$20 more for 500gb increase so this is not really worth it in comparison to the other ssd deal on ozbargain rn

    • +1

You're including the cashback on the QVO but not on this one, and ignoring the difference in the NAND technology.

  • Price is up to $120.43 now ($119 + $1.43 payment surcharge)

Ended a getting a Crucial MX500 for $85 posted from Amazon (after $10 app discount code)
