Can combine with the 5% gift cards(Suncorp bank)..just get an online quote valid fo thirty days and go to a store and show them the quote and they will do to for the same price and used gift cards to get additional discounts within the store. as I believe , you cannot buy online with gift cards combined ..

    • Nice. That'll shave $15 off

      • not a bad shave

    • Anyone willing to get an quote for me to take in? Don't have access to GGC ATM.
      Thanks in advance.

      • Are you still looking for a quote? I can help.

        • Hi are you willing to help me get in? Thank you

          • @jewiho: Yes. Send me a PM.
FYI, $326 for the black one and $418 for the silver one.

        • Hi Karseeeejaaa could I trouble you for help too?

I tried to PM you but it says can't start new conversation….

          • @Cap N: Sent you a PM
Also updated my settings to receive one.

            • @karseeeejaaaa: So you guys are just taking it into the local good guys and getting them to match the price.

Can you still use suncorp gift card in store?

I have good guys commercial. But I only see the option for delivery online

              • @stickymoo: I bought it via TGGC and picked it from the store, the black version. It was still much cheaper than usual retail price of around 450.

TGG won't match the commercial pricing, but other stores may. Hit and trial.

Currently, on the commercial site, only delivery option is available for $10.

I reached out to TGGC customer care and placed the order via them, not their website. This allowed me to use a $100 gift card. Purchasing via website won't allow gift card usage to the best of my knowledge.

    • Okay im an idiot. where do i get the suncorp gift card?

      Quality or cheap.

      • Please don't expose yourself.
I had a Delonghi coffee machine a couple of years back.
        Summary:
Several issues with it, the major one fired steam across my kitchen bench. Scalded hand.
Myer sent me to Delonghi who were not very interested - wanted me to send it in for repair and wait 2-3 weeks.
Returned it to Myer on basis it was dangerous. Poor materials of construction.
Good riddance to it. Never again. Delonghi used to be a solid brand.

Bought a Breville. Paid more but worked well and reliably. Good coffee. Happy.

"don't expose yourself to the probs I had and lack of support"

    • We have this coffee machine, bought it about a year ago. We bought it because we have limited space in our kitchen.

It has been a fantastic machine, makes great coffee.

Only downside, if any, is that it is a single boiler, meaning that you can’t extract the coffee and froth the milk at the same time. This isn’t a problem for us, as we were happy to trade off the 30 seconds it takes to do the coffee and milk in sequence for the significant saving in space.

      I’d buy it again.

    • Breville is larger, has stainless steel 54mm portafilter, PID thermal control, can only deliver steam (not hot water) and some kind of thermal sensing under where the milk jug can go while steaming milk (not sure if you can just hold the jug and do it the old fashioned way).
Breville costs more but will make a better coffee out of the box.

Delonghi is narrower, aluminium portafilter seems a bit dodgy, but it is cheap, can deliver hot water or steam, and can be enhanced with aftermarket unpressurised 51mm basket (one screw to remove and pop out the plastic insert), for the more adventurous the steam wand can be replaced with one from a Rancilio Silvia (much more involved, probably an hour or more and many screws, phillips head and torx).

Seattle Coffee Gear do a comparison of the two:

      • +1

You can steam manually with the Breville - you just keep the steam wand raised and press the steam button. You can also order unpressurised baskets from Breville, which I would recommend doing at the same time as ordering the machine - I haven't used the pressurised baskets since the unpressurised arrived.

      • stainless steel portafilter. Does that mean it a stainless steel boiler?

    • Highly recommend this comparison video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiOpkuHkhU0&t=1s
It basically tells you what they are capable of, pros and cons and stuff.
Delonghi pros: slimmer in size, cheaper in price. It has pre infusion, 30 second heating time, the ability to programme water temperature, hardness, programmable shot time and automatic descaling.
Cons: pressurised system, weaker steam wand and sucks at warming cups (from my own experience).

Bambino pros: automatic milk steaming with a better wand (auto purge too), pre infusion, ability to control milk temperature and the amount of form.
      Cons: pressurised system, more expensive.
Bambino also has a 54mm portafilter compares to delonghi's 51mm one.

I'd say if you have limited bench space and you want to save a few bucks choose the delonghi. If you like the idea of auto steaming go ahead and get the bambino.

I have been waiting for this to go on sale. Don’t have a GGC account. So if someone has an account and got me a quote then I can bring that in store for them to sell for the same price, is that correct?
Anyone kind enough to help me? Thank you.

Happy to buy for you if you're in VIC - PM me.

        • Done and created a quote. Trying to pick-up as delivery is extra 10 and stores don't seem to know about the get a "quote" option.

  • I have this machine and it’s been pretty great for a beginner like me.

Froths the milk automatically while I grind the coffee and prep the portafilter

    Got it for $350

Also would recommend the Breville Smart Grinder pro $199

Please Note : I am a newb barista

  • I have been waiting for this for quite a while.
Any good Samaritans who can help buy or get a quote i can use in store?

    Appreciate your help in advance.

    • +1

I can help you buy one or get a quote. PM me if you want, can't PM you as it's disabled or something.

  • Opened up an account through sun super, went to the store today in auburn, nsw. couldn't pick up, was told i have to order online because the item didn't show up in the store as click and collect option and commercial accs is usually for employees.

  • Hi,

    I just bought one.

I don't have a grinder - what the best ground coffee to buy for the breville? I like strong coffee. Thks

  • Can anyone with an account confirm the deal is still ongoing before i try and create an account?

    • Can confirm deal is still ongoing

  • Is this a stainless steel boiler?

  • Not a bad price point to get you into the Expresso at Home Market but when you start adding a grinder and accessories the price is almost the same as a Breville Express

  • What's the cheapest can we get the smart grinder Pro for? Seeing its been about $160 a few months back? Is the smart grinder pro on good guys commercial?

    • yes, but for like 226. Can find it for 199 on other sites.

  • Thanks Op. Bought this and a Breville coffee bin $34, total $370 delivered :)

    • Is the coffee bin available also on Good Guys Commercial? Is it the standard or the mini version?

      • It’s BREVILLE Bar Vista Coffee Grinds Bin BCB100BSS

  • How do people rate the Duo Temp Pro vs this it is $329 at BigW

    • The Bambino is better value for $326, it takes less bench space, has programmable delivery and steam but it does offer hot water delivery if you need that.

The Duo Temp Pro does not offer any adjustment to brew or steam temperatures, but it has internal PID control (like the Bambino and Infuser) of the brewing temperature.
PID control (stands for proportional, integral and derivitave) makes optimised adjustments based on all 3 factors to the heating element allowing temperature to be controlled more consitently than a thermostat, allowing for the brew water to remain within a degree or so of the setting (unlike a traditional thermostat) even while water is flowing through the coffee.
PID controlled brew temperature means more consistent shots(i.e. once grind/tamp dialed in you get it each time), manual control means you just turn it on to start, and off when you have enough coffee, steam the milk how you like it.

Manual control of the brew with the Duo Temp Pro means you do not have the programmable 1 or 2 cup buttons, and need to turn the handle on to start extraction and off to stop it.
Honestly, I like doing it this way anyhow.

TLDR - I still rate the Duo Temp Pro, should be cheaper there have been much better prices e.g. Target recently for $249 (I have seen the Infuser ages ago on ozb for $299)

  • Thanks Pete for the detailed reply much appreciated I have been offered the Barista Express for 599 (has also been cheaper) is it worth going for that vs. a Bambino and Grinder? Also comes with pressurised and non pressurised baskets

    • Hey David, who offered you the express for $599?

  • +1

Factor in the grinder for $199 and the barista express is still $74 more
Personally I avoid the units with an integrated grinder as the beans will invariably get warm, the grinder itself usually has design compromised to fit in, and you can't upgrade/replace the grinder as simply as a standalone.
Unpressurized baskets are good, but you can probably get them cheaply for the bambino anyhow.
It depends what's important to you, you'll have to live with what you get for a while.
Both will make good coffee, you'll adapt your morning routine to either one. I guess just make sure the features work for your situation, e.g space, power points, cup size under the portafilter etc. The bambino doesn't deliver hot water if you're into using that for e.g. Americano

    • Thanks for this. I've been waiting for the barista express to go on sale for ages but I'm leaning towards the Bambino Plus and Breville Smart Grinder instead now. The only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger is that the Bambino doesn't have a pressure gauge like the Barista pro.

      • A pressure gauge is definitely nice. I have one on my machine but also watch how the extract is streaming out - watching how espresso is pouring out is always useful with or without a gauge.
Drip/thin stream - over 10 Bar (tamp less|dose less|grind coarser), stream wide and wobbling/pour straight down - below 7 bar(tamp more| dose more| grind finer) arcing shoelaces - should be good.

  • Great deal. How long does the Sun registration normally take?

    • +1

From what I remember it is a little lengthy because you sign up to suncorp banking. Then you have to register for the suncorp benefits. So it is two registrations. If I remember correctly.

  • Is everyone finding stock in store. Or does it have to be delivered. I am finding no stock and I have tried a lot of locations within 200km radius

    • Realised it mentions online only. So $10 delivery. Unless I can go in store and price match

  • Had anyone's bambino been dispatched? I haven't had any updates yet…

    • Updates… just called the store it was allocated to…they have said there is no stock and they do not know when stock is arriving. Anyone else encounter the same issue?

      • Just called too and got the same response, no stock, never was in-stock, according to the lady they're always ordered in when an order is placed. No ETA either so I just have to wait if I want it. hmmm…

        • Today I also called the store it was assigned to. Said no stores have stock and they're all waiting for units to come in. Generic quoted delay for backordered items is 2 weeks but they said it could be shorter or longer depending on what it is and where it's coming from. Looks like we just have to wait patiently.

          • @yes8s: Ok so I was too impatient. I saw the stainless version was in stock at a particular store. I went there and asked if I could just pick this one up instead. That turned out to be a hassle due to the commercial orders and how the original order was assigned.

In the end, they honoured the $326 for the stainless version they had in stock so I just placed a new order for that and walked out with it and cancelled the original order.

    • mine has not been dispatched. status is "Stock Backordered". ordered on 14 June

Thanks for the heads up OP. Was looking to get one of these and this is a great deal. Just signed up to SunSuper to get free access to TGGC and placed my order. Too easy. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to get here as others have noted delays.

Now to find a good deal on the smart grinder pro….

    • In case you didn't notice, there was a 15% sale on gift cards for catch.com.au by PayPal. Use that and you could have got the grinder for $170.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/546916

      • Yep saw that yesterday but it had expired by the time I got around to it. Looks like it's back on now. Thanks.

  • Just signup with sunsuper and register for TGGC, says it'll take 4-5 days to get registered.

In the meantime, do I need to put money into sunsuper? Should I cancel the membership if i don't want to put fund in it? I didn't opt in for insurance. Any help on this front is much appreciated :)

    • Update to anyone that's looking into this deal.

My TGGC rego was accepted in 1 day and I've order the espresso machine yesterday, and it's now on its way. AUSPOST estimate Friday - Monday delivery :)

Thanks OP for the heads up.

  • $353 as now.
