The gen 5 and hybrid HR watches rarely go on sale. The gen 5 has more favourable reviews than the older gen 4 with poor battery life. I have my eye on the hybrid HR collider which uses eink and has almost 2 weeks of battery life. With the hybrid you get the best of both worlds. The look of a traditional watch with the functions of a smart watch.

  I have the gen 4 (got for $125) and get a day and a half with moderate use. Not sure Gen 5 is worth almost $300 more. i think all of these reviewers are testing the battery while its syncing and doing updates or are too old and doesnt take into account the latest software which makes a huge difference on the battery life. Wear OS has come a long way since the Gen 4 was originally released.

  The Hybrid HR is awesome. The functions are just enough, and the battery life is 3 weeks for me.

  I have been putting my eyes on this model for long. Fossil is really dodge. They have many times of 15-20% off such as Christmas or Easter but all about fine prints of exclusion. Now they finally drop the price with some coupon (no coupon can be used in the past) and I guess either new version coming or under the stress of COVID-19. For me I am sick n tired of This kind of dodge marketing method. Forgot since when I started to ignore this model of watch.

  $199USD on the Fossil US and Amazon US sites. Equates to around $290AUD. A pity neither site will ship to Australia and redirects you to the au site instead where we get to pay over $100 AUD more.
