First time posting a deal, great monitor with good reviews as one of the best 27" 1440p 144hz gaming monitors.

Shipped by amazon au and in stock, so faster shipping time then other deals.

Would grab one myself but only running a 1070 atm and dont think ir will cut it for 1440p

                                • @Harvey1: What do you know. 5 minutes after chatting with the rep, i've got a delivery date of thursday.

                                  • @Harvey1: Nice one maybe I should chat with them and see if I can speed up my order.

                                  • @Harvey1: Which shipping are you using i switched to the priority shipping as I don't mind paying a bit extra to get it quicker.
UPDATE just changed it back to expedited and it says arriving Thursday and the amazon chat person says it will ship on the 15th which is Monday so I guess all of us late order people will ship Monday. Happy days :)

                                    • @caff3ry: I had it changed to priority for a while and I just changed it back to expidited and says by Friday 19th. Fingers crossed it ships Monday!

                                    • @caff3ry: Standard shipping.
Pretty good if it arrives on thursday!

                                      • @Harvey1: has your shipped out yet? Mine hasnt shipped but says will arrive by thursday.

                                        • @caff3ry: Same status. Still says arriving thursday but hasn't shipped. Would be interested to know if the second wave of the deal has shipped yet.

                                    • @caff3ry: I did the same thing and I got between the 16 of June and July 1st. Weird that priority is extra but doesn’t get a delivery estimate…

                                      • +1

@Dwil06: Jumped on the support chat again.
Out of stock for the original order supplied by amazon directly.
I've been quoted a new estimate of the 26th for delivery once they get more stock.

                                        • @Harvey1: Thanks for the update. We shall wait and see, I guess!

                                        • @Harvey1: Jumped on support chat and they said they will deliver and i will receive it by 18 so still thursday. A bit skeptical about it but better for me if it does arrive right?

                                          • @caff3ry: If yours says the 18th I think it could happen. Mine has never suggested anything other than a range of about 2 weeks. Never a specific date.

                                          • @caff3ry: Any news on your delivery? Has it been shipped?

                                            • @Dwil06: Mine still doesnt have a delivery date and I ordered on the 11/06
Chatted with the rep today and got advised 23/07 estimated delivery date. That sucks.

                                              • +1

@Darnn: Nope just got an email this morning saying it has been delayed. 23 next week Tuesday is my expected delivery date. This seemed the most likely scenario from the beginning so fingers crossed no more delays.

                                                • @caff3ry: I changed the delivery speed from Priority to Delivery and I'm actually getting a delivery date now. It's saying I'm receiving it on Wednesday 24th of June now. Doubt it but we'll see

                                                  • @Darnn: Last time I did that it went from the 16th June - 1st July range to 17th June - 2nd July. Probably won’t matter but I’m reluctant to change it again!

                                                  • @Darnn: Finally out for shipping it's on its way now! So getting it Tuesday hopefully.

                                                    • @caff3ry: Mine now says June 23-25. Money has come out of my account.

                                                      • +1

    OOS

    • I’m seeing ‘only 4 left’. Ok now I’m seeing OOS.

  • Damn, by the time I went to buy it, it's OOS

  • Aw man. Had in my cart, went to add in a gift card and new credit card details and then got the error message.

    Hurts bad :(

May need to go second choice, Viewsonic VX2758-2KP-MHD…

    • +1

i was going to buy this. then i wake up and see this haha

    • I woke up to find I missed this deal too, been waiting for one all week on this monitor…

And the Viewsonic is out of stock everywhere too!

      • Scorptec is supposedly getting some in next week i think last i checked on their website

        • +1

Their last date was this week and they just randomly added 2 weeks to it. They'll bsing to get pre-orders.

          • @LukeB: Agreed, The supplier doesn't estimate getting stock until the end of June so no clue how Scorptech are thinking they get theirs before then

    • I wish I bought the LG instead of the viewsonic. Stuck pixel and viewsonic won’t do anything about it

    • Snooze you lose! but there will be more at this price.

  • I can’t believe I missed it.

    • +4

Be patient more will appear, I had been looking for 2+ weeks, was going to the pull the trigger for $900+ monitors with lousier specs. Believe in the OzBargain gods.

    • and it's not butter.

  • +1

    No issue with a 1070 and 1440p.

Getting to 144fps is a bit different though.

    • +3

Yes I was thinking about it for productivity but gaming I dont think it will cut it. Playing assassins creed oddessy right now and just stays at 50-60 at 1080p, warzone is 60-80 with settings down. I also have a 3 monitor setup with 2 1080 24" and a cintiq that feels alittle slugish sometimes. Halfway through a new pc build hope to be done in aug/sept, prob another deals comes around by then.

Congrats to those that got one of these :)

  • Jesus christ, I just bought this from Amazon on Monday for $850.

  • Bought one, hopefully it's a nice upgrade from my old Asus MG279Q.

  • Good price. I got it from Futu on eBay for $764 - great monitor, waiting to upgrade other components to take full advantage of 1440p/144Mhz specs.

  • What sort of minimum specs would you need on a gaming laptop to run 1440p/144mhz on this monitor?

    • +2

2070 Super or 5700 XT will be the best bang for buck. They will hover around 100FPS on high quality.
They will get you 1440p on decent refresh rates, you can scale game quality to achieve greater frames - Depends on your preference, frames or graphics quality.
With a few lower settings you should easily achieve 144FPS on all eSports titles.

      • appreciate the advice mate!

  • I bought this about 3 months ago for a far higher price when they were (almost) impossible to buy. Where hardware sits at the moment I would say that 144 and 2k is the sweet spot for monitors. 4k is not worth the frame rate drop and 1080 looks very rough after 2k. IPS makes your screen so much more usable than TN for anything other than gaming. My other screen is 4k TN but is very dull next to my gl850.

I run 2070s with a 3700x which I would recommend as a minimum to get the most out of this monitor.

  • I play Overwatch with a gtx 1060 and i5. With low visual settings do you think I could hit 144hz on 1080p?

    • +1

hmmmm maybe but then your better off buying a 1080p monitor rather than 1440p but if you plan on upgrading your hardware soon as well not a bad idea to get the monitor first if another good deal comes around.

I have gotten a couple of camel notifications over the last few days so I assume it is getting re-stocked then selling out again.

    • Maybe few people were cancelling their orders so it was coming back…

  • +3

    Mine arrived this morning

    • Wow lucky you! What time did you put the order in on Thursday?

      • +1

        8:50am.
Not a bad delivery time considering it was Perth to Melbourne

        • Damn I bought at 9:37 and I’m not expecting my melbourne delivery until between June 16 and July 1. That 40 minutes really paid off!

          • +1

@Dwil06: 9:21am for me. Says arriving Friday. Hopefully just in time for the weekend.

            • @NachoCheese: Just changed mine to priority and it didn’t have a delivery date. Just said they would email. Changed it back to expedited and got 17th June - 2nd July. Was 16th - 1st so I should have left it!

              • +1

@Dwil06: 1 day difference between Priority and Expedited?

  • Merged from LG Ultragear 27GL850-B 27” QHD Nano IPS Gaming Monitor (1ms (GTG), 144hz, G-Sync Compatible) $699 Delivered @ Amazon AU

Not the cheapest it has been but certainly worth the $699 price tag. I personally have the 27GL83A which uses the same panel and it is awesome.

    • 3 Available by the looks

      • +1

        3 available maximum per order.

        • On higher ticket orders that generally indicates stock levels. i.e. previously it was 30.

      • Eh, 1440p 240Hz monitors are coming, and the sale prices for the cheaper ones will be at this price.

Here's some pursuit photography of the Samsung VA variant that can be ordered for this price in the UK.

        • +2

You’d need some beefy hardware to pull off QHD@240Hz

          • -7

@FireRunner: You don't buy a monitor for the GPU, you buy a GPU for the monitor. You know, the thing you actually see the 3D rendering through.

2070 should almost get the job done on generous medium settings when DLSS hits mainstream (though the latency penalty might be too high to push those frame rates), but really that's where RTX 3000 comes in for mainstream consumers.

            • +3

@jasswolf: Just saying that most people won’t be able to make good use of that. QHD 144Hz is more than enough for most people.

              • -3

@FireRunner: Agree on the last part today, disagree on the last part forever. Cheers for the in-depth analysis.

                • @jasswolf: I think it's pretty obvious that his statement was a 'forever' statement.

                  • -2

@sghetti: You mean 'was not'? I'm literally saying 144Hz is a waste of time in a market where both 1080p and 1440p 240Hz is now affordable (at least in other regions, for now), and 300-360Hz will be the premium option before the end of the year.

These are important steps for reducing eyestrain in fast motion content. The LG was an OK recommendation at launch, but as the rest of the market has softened (at least outside of lockdown), the LG has not.

Anyway, I think I've made my point coherently enough, I'll leave it there.

                    • @jasswolf: Yes, was not.

Have you got any links to affordable 1440p 240hz monitors?

                      • @sghetti: I do not, but there was stock in the UK pricing this at £450, which is AU $750 when you adjust for tax. I linked the motion blur testing earlier in the comment tree.

There's been news trickling through that the US street price after launch will be $450 as well, which matches up with that.

      I love you Steven

I missed out by seconds on the last deal and have been eyeing off stock on Amazon several times a day since. I just bought this in queue at Woolies 6mins after you posted and wouldn't have got it otherwise.

      Much love to you

      • +1

use camelcamelcamel notification (also why am i associated)

        • You must have accidentally associated yourself with Amazon AU previously.

          I've removed your association.

      • Yeh definitely get on camelcamelcamel as THX mentioned - I've been too lazy to remove the notification i had set up for this lol

    • +5

I wish I spent the extra on this monitor instead of the viewsonic. I’ll think about this everytime this monitor is posted, lol

      • You've got a sweet monitor brother, love it

      • What would the big difference between the them have been for you? Currently have the ViewSonic on order

        • Just so disappointed that a stuck pixel appeared after only 2 months of owning. Was refused warranty and now have to live with it. Also hear the image quality is better with this

          • @FireRunner: oh wow, i was thinking about getting viewsonic because of 30 days perfect pixel policy. what's the dead / stuck pixel policy after 30 days?

            • @oranglama: Absolutely zero support. Claim was rejected citing the 30 day DOA policy

              • @FireRunner: Do you know if the store you bought it from would make a difference? Getting mine from computer Alliance just because I know they have great support

                • @dfitt10: Got it from computer alliance, they just referred me to Viewsonic’s policy.

                  • @FireRunner: Even though the Australian laws state the retailers HAS to replace it/refund you, and can't fob you off to the manufacturer…

                  • @FireRunner: Refer them to your open case with the ombudsman in response

                  • +1

@FireRunner: Typical 'refer to the ACCC' but check this: https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees…

"The retailer who sold you the product or service cannot refuse to help you by sending you to the manufacturer or importer."

                    • @FormulaWon: I wonder how a dead pixel plays into consumer policy. If the manufacturer only guarantees perfect pixels for 2 months, it'd be hard to claim based on a consumer guarantee. It seems the "acceptable quality" requirements are a bit murky for something like this. That being said I really hope it would be under cover

          • @FireRunner: Stuck/dead pixel can happen on any LCD panels though, and most manufacturers only accept return/exchange if there are at least [insert number depends on manufacturer] stuck/dead pixels present on the panel. Some (e.g Phillips) even require that those pixels have to clumped together to warrant an exchange.

If it's within 30 days, some retailers might accept return. But 2 month… I got couple of Dell and LG monitors with dead pixels and there was nothing I could do about it.

Btw, I highly doubt the image quality of this is vastly/noticeably better unless you use specialized tool to measure and/or your work depends on it.

      • you think so? it's double the price though.

        • Closer to 50% more. Disappointing quality and service

    • I ordered this just now too, however, I haven't received shipping details and the stock level hasn't changed from 5 despite other people in this thread making orders too. Is that normal?

      • I think that 5 means there are 5 sellers, Amazon plus 4 marketplace sellers.

        • Gotcha. Still no order details after 45 mins though

      • I ordered from previous deal last week and still not shipped yet..

    • I found this 30 minutes ago while randomly browsing Amazon. I then checked Ozbargain for deals on the monitor and was directed to last weeks post which showed out of stock. Knowing that this was a steal, i immediately pulled the trigger. Expedited delivery and still waiting on an ETA.

      • Hopefully it comes through !

        • Fingers crossed mate! Same for everyone else that managed to pull the trigger
