Blackvue Cloud - How Many GBs a Month? What Are People Using?

Just recently purchased a 750 2CH and looking into my 3G hotspot options for Blackvue Cloud.
TBH I just don't see how it would work longterm unless you have a lot of data on the plan or sim you're using (that has to be with the car at all times?) but I'd like to know what people are doing currently.
And if people are using dongles etc, how are you charging it? take it home every night?

on another note, does anyone experience massive lags when trying to load videos in the app over the "wifi" option? like my list of videos show but when I click into them it takes forever for the video to load…

  • Think it is too much hassle/expense in this country so have not bothered with it, but interested in hearing from anyone who does use the cloud functionality

    • Yeah doesnt look like its worth the monthly data sim even on a shared data plan i dont think. And other issue is the constant battery for a dongle which i cant work out

I've only just started using it for the 900s and have found the App a PITA. Have not really searched if there is an alternative to use yet.

  • use BV for few years and always happy with the wifi option.
I am no expert but remember to make sure your sd card is one of those recommended - size and brand.
which sd card do you use?

    • I just swapped to the Samsung Pro Endurance not too long ago. Previously I was using SanDisk High Endurance, which was fine until the last year or so when my Blackvue DR650 started restarting non-stop. Swapped over to the Samsung Pro card about 2 months ago. Problem went away.

For those using the 2 channel, has your rear camera started to misbehave?

      • Had the exact same issue with Sandisk high endurance after one month, Samsung Pro Endurance working beautifully and great price from Amazon US for 128gb one

        • Interesting.

Just bought a 256gb Sandisk high endurance for a Blackvue DR900s-2ch.
Still in its pack, do you think I should look to return this?

Samsung look to only have a card up to 128gb though.

          • @owwreally: Definitely return it. Works OK in other dashcams it seems, but Blackvue are fussy. 128gb Samsung Endurance is the one to get, even Blackvue recommend it.

            • @nubzy: Thanks will return.

Are there any options that work that are >128gb?
              More recording time the better.

              • @owwreally: You could try SanDisk Max Endurance, which is the next level up. These are relatively new I believe. So might be worth a shot.

              • @owwreally: No idea. I find 128gb plenty.

      • still working fine after 3 years - both front and rear

        • Good to know. My rear one is acting up. Fine one day, then night goes all fuzzy and green. I'm out of warranty so I'm not sure what to do now.

      • Awesome timing, just bought it. Thanks for the heads up.
