TP-Link HS100 Smart Wi-Fi Plug $19 (Was $32) + $7.60 Shipping or Free C&C @ Centrecom

180

A pretty good product for a $18 price tag with a decent life.
Have been using one from past year and have had no issues. Can be used to turn on/off electrical appliances using TP-Link's Kasa app and integrate with Google Home/Siri using IFTTT.

Thanks to PriceHipster for the find.

It comes with these features:
Remote Access – Control devices connected to the Smart Plug wherever you have Internet using the free Kasa app on your smartphone.
Scheduling – Schedule the Smart Plug to automatically power electronics on and off as needed, like setting lights to come on at dusk or turn off at sunrise.
Away Mode – Turns your devices on and off at different times to give the appearance that someone is home.

Just be aware that it has coil whine. So better to not use it in a spot like for a bedside lamp where you’ll be able to hear it all night

    • I have had one next to my bed for a couple of years and wasn't aware it even made a noise

      • I have 4 plus a couple of the powerboards and a stack of their bulbs and can't say i have experienced coil whine from these either - have seen other people comment and say in recent threads they are sensitive and didn't experience it either.

  • Does anyone know if this monitors usage through the App as well?

Or alternatively - Does anyone know where to get any more Ego Efergy plugs? I have two which are not reporting usage anymore.

Also for those avoiding postage - see above - try price matching at Officeworks.

    • THis will tell you how long it's been on and averages but not consumption

      the HS110 monitors energy usage

Thank you - I need something to monitor usage as we go very close to the 10A rating - lol!

Got 3 priced matched at Bunnings. Came down to $17.10 each.

  • What's the advantage of this one vs any Tuya based plug e.g. Arlec which can be had for cheaper?

Price is back to $34 on their website.
