I have been looking for a PS4 deal and this is the best I could find. Not the best ever by any means but there seems to be a shortage of EOFY deals for the PS4, even with the PS5 announcement soon. Thought I would spare others the legwork and share. [PRE-ORDER] Can order now to ship on the 17th of June.
Yeah, at this price point, you better wait and but a ps5. Most games are supposed to be backwards compatible so you could still get them cheap used. Now, most of this is speculation and nothing has been 100% confirmed, but it's something to have in mind before spending 400+ on an old console. I would have thought that price would have dropped to 200ish by now (used) but i guess we still have to wait a little bit longer.

Thanks, this is a much better deal! The slim has sold for $250ish previously so the current price is a major rip off, I was hoping for some better EOFY deals. I don't have a 4k TV so there is no benefit for the pro for myself, I'll be running off of my PC monitor.

Not that I'd advocate buying a PS4 console this late out. If they're porting gtav to ps5 you know TLOU2 is getting a port.

This is a rort. If it was the PS4 Pro with the Last of Us 2 for this price, then it would be a decent deal if you don't plan on getting the PS5 anytime soon as there's a huge backlog library of games to keep you busy if you've skipped this generation.
How is the regular price $540 in 2020? I remember buying the original PS4 glacier white destiny bundle from JB Hifi (think it came with Infamous and Assassin's Creed IV) for $549 or so and that was in 2014.
On a sidenote, Gamesmen have always been overpriced and only have good deals when eBay is helping them out with some promotion (e.g. Nintendo Switch overpriced but with PVOLTAGE 15% off code and Last of Us 2 pre-order for $49 with eBay Plus). I would even go so far to say that EB Games are better as they sometimes have decent sales which is probably the only time I shop with them.

Hard pill to swallow if you are buying a console on its last legs just for 1 game … if you are into this series you would already own a ps4.
This makes the ~ $199 deals from black Friday on PS Slims look like an absolute steal.
With PS5 on the horizon I cant imagine they'll stay at this price for long. Using TLOU2 launch for one last bite of the current gen cherry.

It’s cheaper to buy via the gamesmen on eBay - $452.95 delivered. Still the issue that this is the standard price and not actually a deal.
This is expensive for a pro, let a lone for a slim.

Sorry OP - if you want a PS4, try second hand. This is not a good deal at all.
Unfortunately second hand prices have gone up as well. This applies to all consoles compared to pre-covid prices (Switch, Xbox One, PS4). There are a few reasonable people selling them for what they're worth pre-covid but they're usually snapped up quick.

We won't be as lucky as the PS4 launch price of $549 next gen. I'm betting around the $800 AU mark on launch for both PS5 and XSX.

It's got to do with the Coronavirus event and how every one has been stuck at home. And so because of that sales of game consoles has sky rocketed and so supply has gone low. And also the warehouses in China were shut down for some time. Why the do you think the likes of EB Games keeps on running out of PS4 Pro and Xbox One X all the time and how it takes weeks for another shipment to arrive. Low supply means higher prices now. For example EB Games is out of PS4 Pro every where and next shipment is July 2020. And it wasn't until very recently EB Games also had the Xbox One X out of stock every where which will probably be gone again too soon.
To sum it up it's called supply and demand.
Lol I know the economics of it im just surprised the effects of early lockdown are still resonating in mid-june for consoles

i didn't realise ps4's were still so expensive god damn.
but yeah, even if you want it exclusively for last of us or cyberpunk, both games will end up on next gen anyway.
