$2 Bonus with $20 Spend at Amazon, Dan Murphy's, The Iconic, NAP, Platypus, Swarovski @ Cashrewards

2340

Hi everyone. Andrew here from Cashrewards. TA is in a meeting with a client and so I'm posting this for you all. For the next 12 hours, we're offering a $2 cashback bonus when you spend $20 or more at one of the six listed stores. We have a special at Dan Murphy's too with 12% cashback on over 1000 select wines, champagnes, and sparklings.

Please ensure you read the terms below before proceeding with your purchase. No activation is required.

To be eligible for the AUD $2 bonus, you must shop as normal via one of the following selected online stores on Cashrewards: Net-a-Porter, Dan Murphy’s, Amazon Australia, Platypus, The Iconic, Swarovski.
Transaction must be made between 12:01PM AEST 12/06/20 and 11:59PM AEST 12/06/20.
$2 bonus is eligible when making a purchase of AUD $20 or more (inclusive of GST, after any discounts, and before shipping).
$2 bonus will not be added to your Cashrewards account at time of purchase. It will be credited separately as approved by 14/08/2020.
$2 bonus is over and above the advertised store cashback rates which still apply to the transaction.
Transaction is valid if made online via desktop browser, Cashrewards mobile app, Cashrewards Notifier, or mobile browser.
Sales may report to Cashrewards ex GST so the amount shown in your account may be less than $20. You will still be eligible for the bonus.
Selected merchants report orders with multiple items as individual transactions into your Cashrewards account (Amazon Australia). These are still eligible.
$2 bonus is limited to one per Cashrewards account (separate purchases from different stores don’t qualify for additional bonuses).
$2 bonus is ineligible if an order is cancelled, changed, returned, rejected, or if you purchase an ineligible product (standard store cashback terms and exclusions apply).
Fraudulent activity will result in rewards being forfeited and accounts closed.

    Not behd. Thanks

  • Ate items from the Amazon 0% cashback category included?

    • +4

$2 bonus is ineligible if an order is cancelled, changed, returned, rejected, or if you purchase an ineligible product (standard store cashback terms and exclusions apply).

      • Ta, i misconstrued that.

    • Would like the store rep to confirm this also. Because those are not technically ‘ineligible’, that’s usually things like gift cards.

      • Hi magwri. For these bonuses all normal cashback conditions apply so whatever is eligible for cashback is eligible for the bonus.

        • +3

Andrew I think the question is, for those zero rate cashback categories on Amazon, it will still track cashback but will show $0.00. It's not that it is ineligible / prohibited.

So the fact that it still tracks (albeit at 0.00) should still trigger the bonus $2?

          • +4

@kickling: Hi kickling, the $2 cashback only applies to the stores and categories that are applicable for cashback. 0% means that those categories are not eligible for cashback and therefore not eligible for the bonus.

            • -2

@ahc99: if I was you, I'd be having a chat to your legal people. As 0% does not equate "not eligible" in legalise.

              • +3

@[Deactivated]: I'm not sure what's wrong with it? In the Amazon terms it specifically states the following:

Effective 01/06/20, cashback is ineligible on purchase of vouchers, gift cards, kindle unlimited, audible, mobile apps, subscribe & save items, prime subscriptions, and all categories/products listed at 0% cashback.

So in this case, it would constitute as "ineligible" as per the terms of the store?

                • @doweyy:

$2 bonus is ineligible if an order is cancelled, changed, returned, rejected, or if you purchase an ineligible product

Doesn't state to refer to your quote above. It doesn't state that items which are eligible 0% cashback is an ineligible product.

It was just friendly advice from someone who deals with contracts and has some understand of legalese. Ambiguity leads to legal challenges in legal documents, which is why they're so long & boring.

Bit more importantly, why not just say it in plain English? If you're order falls under the 0% cashback category then it's mot eligible? Not need to confuse and annoy people by being ambiguous eh?

        • +3

What if one makes a single purchase of multiple items, of which one is ineligible for cashback?

Eg. add $35 of eligible products to cart and a $4 ineligible product to meet $39 for free delivery. Would this single transaction still be eligible for cashback, and this promo?

          • +3

@Junk Sifter: Hi qiqi1021, providing the eligible items/products are over $20 in total you will receive the bonus.

All these were declined even though tracked .
No reason but terms weren't met .
I'd like to know what terms ?
One of them is worth while chasing I think :)
          I'll PM email of a/c .

          • +1

@popsiee: Hi popsiee. Purchases will track and auto-decline if they fall into one of these 0% categories, as per the on-site terms. Please note categories can and will change on advice from Amazon. If you believe they were declined and fall into a cashback category, please click the link in your click history and submit a claim. Full Amazon terms and rates can be found here. Thanks.

            • +2

@tightarse: Thanks for the answer TA I understand :)

              • @popsiee: It's a pleasure. Have an enjoyable weekend :)

Hi, i never got my bonus from the ebay $2 bonus deal a few weeks back

    • Always takes about 3 months

  • Buy some booze ?

  • Don't see it officially advertised at Cashrewards?

    • they'll all at lunch sampling their latest 8% Amazon cashback purchases.

    • It's going out shortly in today's newsletter, then it will be advertised on site. It's live now and you'll find the terms at the bottom of the main link in this post.

      • Just got a notification via app, about to post it and then realised, Andrew is ahead of the game:P

  • wow i just bought on amazon via shopback 5 minutes ago… DAMN :(

    • +1

      Cancel, re-order

      • +3

i cant, amazon has a weird price jacking thing. The t shirt i bought went up by $60 lol to $100

        • -1

Wow, can I have the link? just wondering they have applied, debatable user-interest based price structure

        • +1

Can confirm, cancelled an order the first time a week or so ago because I forgot to use cashback, had to cancel the order a second time because I didn't notice the price jump up by about $15 immediately after my purchase until after I pressed the button, ended up having to get a similar-but-different product in my third order.

      • Amazon will let you cancel unless is "Preparing for shipping" which is usually a day after you placed an order.

        • +2

i know, but the tee i bought has had its price jacked up by $60 lol. No point cancelling now

          • -1

@bargainhunter5800: I've successfully asked customer service to credit me a gift voucher for the difference (so that I could buy the item at the prior price) after the price went up on a cancelled order … worth having a chat and giving it a shot.

            • +1

@kickling: In my last experience when I did this they did credit the difference over the phone but not towards gift voucher balance but in promo credit. And they ordered the item on my behalf while on the phone after adding the promo credit.

Using promo credit invalidates cashback and in the above example it was Amazon who reordered the order on my behalf so no opportunity to use CR in any case.

  • -1

Preorder last of us 2 on amazon for $68…released next Friday.

    • +3

Video games are a 0% category so it's ineligible according to the rep above.

      • -1

Thanks, T&Cs were too long to read in detail for 2 bucks…lol

        • You can still buy something else that is eligible and still get the $2 if that helps.

  • +5

Is it just me but the Dan murphys page for these wines is borked?

    • +1

      Nope, me too.

    • Driving me bonkers also… can't sort / search

      • Site barely hanging on - Dan Murphys has been OZbargained again:)

      • yeah weird….

    • +1

      Oh no, there's where I'm heading 😄

    • +1

click through link appears to be BORKED completely.

EDIT: I have fixed the Dan Murphy Link by removing the + from the URL after "exclusive-wine-offer"

  • -3

May not be the appropriate place, but what the heck. I'm frustrated by the mods application of posting rules and the rules themselves.

Can anyone tell me why general deals like this (and the 70c saving per $100 spend increase in cashback posted a short time back - super deal that) are acceptable to mods but a Supercheap clearance deal was removed this morning because "no [specific] deal was posted"? The Supercheap deal helped me find a very good price on Titan tray rails which I wouldn't otherwise have seen. Surely the whole point of this website is to alert people to [decent, not trivial like the 0.7% cb increase] potential savings???

    • This one is spend $ 20 get 12% cashback(Platypus) + extra $2 on top is $4.40 on $20 spend
Wish GC, you don't know how much $$$ people are buying, so might not be 70C as in your case.

On the other hand, we have seen a number of SCA sales in the past few days from this clearance sale.
Most items on the clearance page are low/no quantity and are specific to some store.

      • I know what this deal is, I was obviously generalising about the inconsistency of rule application, and rules, and the value equation. The 0.7% "deal" got more than a hundred votes for some reason, but that's Ozbargain for you.

  • Can this be used in conjunction with the $10 off $39 spend on amazon? And also if being paid by an amazon giftcard?

  • Picked up a 6 pack from Dans lol. Why not!

    • Which 6 pack over $20 did you choose?

      • +1

        Stone and Wood.

  • +2

I'm getting sick of having to raise a dispute every time I use CR it never bloody tracks.

    • +1

Not getting confused with SB lol?

      • Is this deal SB or CR??

  • -2

Is the $2 bonus only for one transaction that is minimum $20 spend? Or can we do multiple transactions with minimum $20 spend to receive multiple $2 cashback provided the transaction happens by the end of today?

    • -1

just read the terms and conditions. it's only 1

  • Thanks OP. Does this work with the boozebud 10% off code like SB do?

    • +1

Yep, code is listed on CR :)

  • Just want to confirm if I buy something using a discount coupon and the final price I pay afterwards is still above $20, will it be eligible for the $2 bonus?

  • +2

What about items bought from Amazon US via Amazon AU website. Would that be eligible?

  • -1

If I have a $20 minimum spend on Amazon AU but the items don't get cashback (video game and food categories), will I still get the $2 bonus?

    • just read the information from store representative above. there would be zero bonus in this case

  • Cheers OP, loving alcohol on Amazon, game changer! Looking forward to crazy specials and more chance of price errors possibly? Got a few 10packs of Wild Turkey Rare tinnies, cheaper by a mile over Dans and BWS, plus the 8% and $2 bonus, hmmmm not bad.
Shipping says around a week and a half which is a bit slow for Prime, but expecting much sooner, thinking early next week.

    • Grabbed a ten pack of the same, $47
Hoping the $2 cashback and 8% cashback stack.

On another note, when verifying age,any way to enter date of 1970 via phone without scrolling back month by month?

      • +1

Good price for sure, even before cashback etc.
I think I just did date, month then year, which was pretty quick, not quite as far back as you, just to 1973.
I don't see how that really stops underage purchasing though.

        • Def better than 12% Dans CR cashback and 5% discount gift cards.

  • Hi OP, I saw the cash back for Vintage Cellars says up to 5.6% and it says standard cash back is 5.6% but other alcohol categories are only 1-2.45%. May I ask what is standard cash back? Is it for non alcoholic purchases? Thanks.

    • Hi Connected, and thanks for spotting this. It's actually listed in error and has now been fixed as there is no such tier available for this store. Have a great weekend :)

  • Hey tightarse, I made a $419 iconic order last night at about 11:15pm with the 3.5%cashback. Any chance you can bump it up to the 12% currently on? I missed it by about 45mins…

    • +3

You know I'd love to help, but unfortunately it would be out of pocket and probably cost me my job lol. The Iconic gave us the increase from midnight to midnight only on this occasion. So sorry.

      • +1

Fair enough. No need to apologise! Thought it was worth asking!

    • Can you cancel and reorder?

      • Yeah I could. It's been shipped already though.

  • For dan murphy can I use a gift card to pay for my purchase?

    • Yep…

Cashback is eligible when paying with Dan Murphy's or WISH gift cards.

  • Is cashback on groceries ever going to come back from Amazon?

    • If it doesn't, there's really no difference than buying the products in store at a local supermarket.

      • Except if you're an Aldi shopper but like to pick up Carmans meusli bars or slabs of soft drink when they are on special.
        But definitely better with cashback.

    • +1

Is cashback on groceries ever going to come back from Amazon?

Certainly hope so, but then again we hope it comes back for other categories too, especially electronics, gaming etc. It's totally out of our hands - hopefully the powers that be at Amazon are watching :)

  • Was Amazon Automotive ever not 0%?

  • -8

Received email with this offer this morning, thought great, bought a wireless earphone from Amazon. Now saw the discussion about ineligible product… Checked Amazon 0% cashback for electronics… Cancelled the order…what a waste of time!!! The email offer didn't say anything…What a trap!!!

    • +3

Hi. Not sure why the neg and complaint. Email stated the terms and our Amazon page states the exclusions.

$2 bonus is ineligible if an order is cancelled, changed, returned, rejected, or if you purchase an ineligible product (standard store cashback terms and exclusions apply).

      • Mate, I don’t want to argue. You can see people were arguing whether 0% cashback is eligible or ineligible as above…this means your guys didn’t make it clear. No one is tracking the cashback rate everyday, every hours and every minutes… in your email, you had large and shiny images telling people “score a $2 bonus when you spend $20 at one of the below stores before midnight tonight”, it doesn’t mention anything about your terms on those images. Your terms are at the bottom of the email with tiny fineprints, which are easily missed. Anyway I always support your guys in the past and trusted your guys, and made the purchase without thinking too much. Next time I have to do more study before clicking your redirect button… I guess if things get harder and harder for people to follow then they will just walk away…

  • Ineligible products vs eligible products in Amazon is a big confusion despite the suggested categorization as some products don't have a category clearly mentioned on Amazon.

  • Hi TA, how does the $2 cashback work? I've had my 8% from Amazon tracked already but not seeing any $2.

    • +1

$2 bonus will not be added to your Cashrewards account at time of purchase. It will be credited separately as approved by 14/08/2020.

Wish I saw this deal yesterday, dammit!

      • Thank you :)

  • +1

    Hi TA,

based on this event I have purchased a $25 camera accessory item on Amazon. My cashback has already been rejected and I am now starting to think this is a category issue.

The list clearly shows "Camera" as a category with 4% cashback. I bought an item listed under "Electronics - Camera & Photo" - hence of course would have thought the "Camera" cashback does apply.

Now I check it again and am wondering if instead it is rejected because it is also listed under "Electronics" - which has 0%?

This seems really sneaky and I am regretting buying it, as it was an impulse buy just because of the $2 discount.

If that is the case, it seems a bit like a gamble to get cashback. Can you offer some help how to 100% confirm whether or not any item on Amazon will fall under a specific 'main category' - i.e the category that decides the cashback?

  • +1

Mine hasn’t tracked from Dan’s. First time this has happened. Anybody else have this problem? Bought from Dan’s today where there is a $3 bonus for $15 spend and this tracked immediately.
