Fujitsu C2.5kW H3.2kW Reverse Cycle Split System Air Conditioner $849 + Bonus $80 Store Credit & $150 Cashback @ The Good Guys

400

Total cost is $699 after $150 cashback from Fujitsu, but a further $80 store credit will be sent out on July 1 (expires July 8).

So, if you can use $80 credit at a Good Guys, this looks like a pretty good deal.

We recently installed one of these and it is very quiet and pleasant enough to use.

Notes:
1) The WiFi module is still not available for purchase (and Fujitsu wouldn't give me an ETA).
2) This (basic) model does not have motorised left <-> right air flow control.
3) I found Fujitsu were very quick about getting us the cashback this time (a matter of a week or so); last year it seemed to take months.

As mentioned in the comments, a further discount is possible if you click through from CashRewards (2.1%) or ShopBack (3.5%).

You could also get a discount by purchasing egift cards from a rewards program (e.g. AGL).

I'm waiting for TGG ebay 20% or 15% EOFY sale for this model..

    • I am also holding out for this last time after discounts and cash back paid about $400.

      • Yeah after cashback and an EFTPOS card this worked out to cost $500 .. not sure if it will get that low again, but I'll wait for EOFY

        • can you explain how you got to 500?
          849-150-80 = 619
          Am I missing something?

            @ra3m3: Paid $799 - cashback $150 - visa gift card $150.

This was from Harvey Norman, and it was a generic visa gift card, not a store credit so could be used anywhere

            @ra3m3: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/399341

This was the deal.. note, I did negotiate in store to buy the unit for $799 (and hence down to $500)

            • @digitalbargain: Which HN did you negotiate this deal from? I am in the process of negotiating a purchase of 11 units and they wouldn't budge from $849…

        • I managed to pick up an ASTG09KMCA for about $450 in 2018 too (GG via eBay - eBay discount - Fujitsu cashback). A split system A/C isn't usually an impulse purchase though, so I thought I'd post the deal for people already on the lookout.

          • @sjbartley: How much did you pay for the installation?

            • +3

@tg: I paid $450 with the compressor wall mounted on brackets. Price isn't everything when you really want the appliance to last 15 years - which is why I'm delighted to have found someone who takes his time to do a good job (Paul of LAB Air if anyone needs an installer in Perth).

              • @sjbartley: Was that with an invoice? Feel free to PM me the answer to that if you prefer.

                • @Charlie Dont Surf: Yes - he's properly licensed and such details show on the receipt. One first world problem I come across is the disappointment of discovering your competent tradesman has moved to Melbourne or Sydney the next time you need them.

This guy is great: straightforward with his quotes, on time, and very careful about the work. I've been up in the roof and inspected things and been very pleasantly surprised.

              • @sjbartley: I’d like kore info on this installer too please :)

              • @sjbartley: Damn. I just paid $640 for a back to back install, wall mounted on brackets. Ouch.

    • I'm pretty sure this was $999 on TGG eBay last time I checked. So I reckon it will be back at that price before any coupons kick in! I hope not, though.

  • If there is no left right control is it better not to install at corner of room (side piping) which is not an uncommon back to back set up? The air will blow out straight, perhaps into window blinds & therefore may be noisy.

    • +1

Sorry, to clarify: there is no motorised control for airflow left <-> right, but there are moveable vanes so you can set it manually.

  • Don't forget Shop back - now 3.5% at GoodGuys.

    • … and/or buy egift cards at AGL rewards (or similar) for 5% off.

(Note: you'll want to pay by credit card at AGL Rewards - which has a surcharge - or you may not get your egift cards before the sale ends.)

  • Ahh damn! I pulled the trigger too early and got these last month for $695 with no store credit or anything :(
Jump on it if you're after a good deal!

    • How are you finding the Fujitsu?

      • Great, and their service is excellent. Had a problem with installation, the installer didnt flange the connection correctly and gas leaked out. Couldnt contact him again. Rang Fujitsu, serviceman came out tracked down issue and fixed it, regassed all under warranty.

I got mine last year under Binglee deal which was cheaper than this deal (but that's the luck of the draw)

      • I haven't installed these ones yet… probably gonna in the next few weeks. But I have a couple of other Fujitsu units and I haven't had a problem with them. They heat and cool really well and are about 3 - 5 years old now… I got them during a 20% off good guys + cashback deal a few years back.

  • How big a room would this be ok for?

    • Never mind, around 20m2
      My room is 30 odd.

      • put two in!

      • Buy the 3.5kW

You only have a week to use the store credit…
"Qualifying customers will receive their store credit on the 1st July, 2020 to the email address provide when the order is paid for online.

Store credit will expire at 11:59pm Monday 8th July, 2020"

I wonder if you can buy physical gift cards with the store credit?

      • Did you check? Or are you still wondering?

        • I bought the unit today during the upsized cashback promo. So I didnt have an opportunity to check unfortunately. I could always do a "return" of the $80 item.

  • Not sure if this helps,
I got Daikin 2.5kw $1250 fully installed and delivered.
    vs
Fujitsu $500 + install ($500?) + need to pick up from hn or gg

Which supplier & installer did you use? Please PM me if you prefer. Thanks.

        ps://arncliffebabylon.com.au/product-category/air-conditi…

the web might not represent the actual condition. If u visit the shop, it’s full of daikin ac.
I paid $3350 for 2.5kw and 5kw, both installed and include upgrade electricity phase for 5kw ones and include custom installation for 2.5kw ones because not back-to-back.
        I think the break down 1250 + 1875 + 150 + 90 (cant remember exact breakdown :)

        • Thanks!

  • Shopback boosted to 6% for a limited time today.

  • I have access to TGG commercial through my union benefits, I’ve just registered but it takes ten days for them to register me.
Anyone know if commercial purchases would get Cashback and bonus?
If not I might just buy the 3.5kw through TGG website rather than commercial….

    • Never mind, bought the 3.5 through ShopBack

  • deleted wrong reply

  • Ok so I bought one. How do I get a receipt from good guys? I need one to file Cashback :/ or I can wait for a credit card statement I guess

    • As in a till receipt, not a order invoice :/

  • We went to the store today and bought 3, they deducted the $80 to the unit price. So you don't really need to work with the store credit.

  • Question: If I already have a split system installed and bought something like this for a back up (since old split system is out of warranty) and give the kW is very similar, would the installation process be cheaper or more expensive the second time around? Noting that they shouldn't need to drill anywhere new in the house but may need to uninstall the old unit?

    • You have to make sure the pipes can handle the new type of refrigerant… Best to check with an installer. I'd be interested in what they say

      • Thanks. They are only 3 years old so I figure not much would have changed. But yeah, "every system is different" is probably what the response will be. I have no doubt that any installer wants to charge less than a new install price.

    • I've been quoted the same for a replacement install and a fresh install. You may receive something different but that's my recent experience.

      • I figured as much. I'd say a discount for a replacement install would be hens teeth and you'd probably need the exact same unit.

  • I got this unit installed 3 weeks ago and have encountered a couple of issues. First is during heat mode, there is a gurgling / bubbling noise from the indoor unit - spoke to Fujitsu and they advised this may be due to copper pipes (between indoor and outdoor) being too short. They recommend minimum 3m and mine is 2.2m as it is a back to back install. Second issue is the indoor unit has a hum when operated on fan speed 1 (it has 4 speeds), I may need the fan replaced hopefully under their Warrenty.

    • Is this an installation issue or a product issue? If 3m is the minimum have they spelled this out in their installation manual or is the installer not aware of this?

      • I have a mitsubishi electric system as a ~2.0m back to back install and you can't hear any gurgling noise. Installer is saying even if the pipes are extended another 0.8m, Fujitsu will be noisier than Mitsubishi electric. The humming noise at low fan speed is also a indoor unit specific problem. The installation manual does recommend the 3m minimum pipe length.
