  • Thanks planning to buy door bell

  • I bought one in their click frenzy sale - they’re surprisingly good, once you get over the sticker shock. $280 is a lot for a doorbell, but at least you get the base station to potentially expand the system in future.

    • +1

At least you don't have to pay Google and Amazon ongoing subscription fee. It stores videos on the base station which works as a chime too.

      • Yeah I wish google home integration coming soon

        • +1

My understanding was that you could view the feed on Google Nest Hubs, but it was slow to load.

          • @Hargain Bunter: At the moment you can ask Google for the feed, but it won’t come through by itself, which isn’t terribly useful given the lags involved. Just using the app on the phone is much quicker. Apparently there’s a Google-focused update due this month which might be more useful. (Link is in another post below).

  • +1

I've got this mounted to my front fence in a custom housing I made.

About 10 metres direct path from the router in the house it and works brilliantly, only complaint is that the video quality is not what I'd expect '2k' to look like.

  • Price does not appear to be discounted, is there a code?

    • Starts tomorrow 10am

      • Yeah, just saw. Mobile app does not show this detail…

        Cheers

      • Started

    • TOMORROW

      • Thanks for the caps. I should have looked further, the app does not show this info.

  • How can I tell if the base station is gen 1 or 2?

    • It's gen 2 from the photos and description. See technical specifications section.

  • Reckon the nebula projector will be in stock?

    • I hope everything else will be in stock too.
I am after 2 cameras and one doorbell. If doorbell addon is in stock then it will be cheaper for me to buy a 2 cam set plus the doorbell addon.

  • +1

Damn wish they’d get the add on only doorbell in stock already…. I don’t need another HB!

    • A$249.95 RRP without the base seems very steep though!

      • It will come down to $200 if they have stock…

        • Good guys are showing stock for standalone add on for the doorbell.

  • How does it compare to Ring doorbell expect the storage? Ring has theft protection.

    • You need to pay for theft protection.

Edit: my bad. No subscription or payment required.

    • Video is much better than the first gen Ring. It seems to have less false alerts too.

  • Why does the 365 days camera come with only home base gen 1?

  • +1

    Does this work with HomeKit?

    • The base station does, but the doorbell doesn’t appear to. Go figure.
I only played with it for a few minutes though.

  • Price match with JB Hifi or The Good Guys?

  • 50% off Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro, please! :)

    • Dammit, only 30% off! :(

Come on Anker, these have been discounted more heavily overseas - getting quite old now (despite only being released in Australia recently)! 50% and I'll bite! :)

    • Only did 30% off.. still appealing though!

Have they actually been more discounted overseas before?

      • Yeah, afaik, they have gone as low as $99USD before (not sure the USD RRP, so don’t know the discount %). That’s $145AUD in today’s terms, but I believe it was closer to $125-$130AUD at the time (this was a while back).

(Unfortunately those deals were not attainable to Australia, otherwise I would have snapped one up at that price for sure!)

        • ahh right.. I guess we still save on shipping costs and GST from the overseas purchase which almost balances itself out for this cost

  • I purchased some anker headphones off amazon the q20 soundcore ones, I paid full price, any idea what I could do? should I return them and repurchase them directly from anker at 50% off?

  • How slow is it now says with Google hub

  • Do they have wired one

  • +2

    No much stuff in stock

    • +1

And better prices at SCA when they have a sale and stock.

      • Agree. Got mine via SCA

      • link?

  • Anyone has experienced with Soundcore Life Q10 ? Are they comfortable for long hours ? What about the quality of the sound itself ?

  • Anyone bought doorbell today?. Still can’t Convince myself to pay $280

    • just do it!

      • U own it?

  • Just bought one, I just consider it another security camera for the front door. I already have 4 X Eufy Cam2C all around, what was left is something capturing the front door side of the house.

    • have you consider reolink cameras? looks like you've got it covered :)

    • Hey mate, I’m considering to buy Eufy 2C as well. Could you let us know how’s the experience been with Eufy camera ecosystem and how the customer support is here in Aus? Thanks

      • The Eufy 2C is great. Well worth it. No subscription is the icing for me. I already have a Ring Video Doorbell 2 and have paid for the sub but still thinking of grabbing the Eufy Doorbell when its on sale next and selling the Ring. Just need one more 2C camera and then I think I'm right.

Haven't had a need to deal with their support yet but set up is simple and quality of feed and general build quality is great too.

        • Been thinking of getting this as well, only issue I have is the non-removable battery, which will probably fail after 3-5 years of use. Another thing is the connection to their server, although videos are not uploaded, if their server is down, you can't access your videos.

  • bought the doorbell with base.. thanks

  • +1

None of the Anker portable speakers available ?

  • Thanks for the heads up OP, ordered the battery doorbell. Been looking to get a few Eufy cameras for around the house too, but I'll see how the doorbell goes first.

  • Bought the wireless doorbell last sale and man it’s way better than I thought. Already had a few deliveries and always see what the postie did lol.

Thinking of getting the Cam 2c just watching some reviews on it now.

  • +1

Up to 40% off Home but when you go to security everything was only 20% off… I got lower price on Amazon by buying echo product and getting 20% off home devices and buying an already discounted cam pack.

  • anyone bought the wireless over the wired, or vice versa?

    • +1

Bought the wireless over the wireless over the wired version just in case my existing wires are not compatible with the doorbell, then I can just fall back on using the battery only.

    • Please correct me if I'm wrong, I believe the wireless has the option to be be wired as well

      • +1

        Yes that is correct.

Wired version doesn’t come with the Homebase with the alarms chimes etc

      • Which is why I bought it

  • +1

Cheers - purchased a video doorbell.

  • +1

For a brand that's well known for their cables, I'm surprised I can't find a usb-a to usb-c cable on there.

Found this review between the two versions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqb-7Pwn64Y Eufy Battery Video Doorbell VS Wired Version - Comparison of Features, Video & Audio Quality

  • With all the “sales” recently, this is almost becoming the RRP price

  • Are these guys grey imports? Warranty page looks a bit sus in terms of refurbished and also to contact them for warranty rather than manufacturer

    • Anker is a US company/brand. The exclusive distributor is Directed Electronics, with the following contact details. Best to give them a call and see what they say.

    • I got it from officeworks, 5% pricematched on eufy security sutff

  • +1

I've had a warranty claim on a V1 camera with a cracked lens. Was very straight forward dealing with directed electronics

  • Any recommendations for SD card for the base station?

    • +1

My understanding was that the base station 2 came with 16GB of storage built in.

      • Thanks!

        • +1

No worries! The older cameras that come with a base station 1, do use an SD card.

          • @Hargain Bunter: Cheers! Yup, you're right. To expand the on-board memory, I need to use a USB stick. Got mine today.

            Initial impression:
            * The doorbell seems like a pretty solid unit.
            * Video resolution is better than the Ring Video Doorbell 2.

            So far, so good.

            • +1

@ben10k: Oh wow, that was quick! I grabbed one too, hoping it gets here soon!

Regarding the USB storage, from what I read it hasn’t been enabled yet. Eufy are also working on a USB dongle, which will add storage and may add additional “AI” smarts. Hopefully they allow you to use your own drives as well though. I think the inbuilt 16GB would be plenty for the doorbell, but might become limiting if adding other cameras.

  • Have purchased the 4-Wireless Eufy camera set recently (SCA sale). Want a door bell but don’t need another HB :(

    • It's a pity that not everything was in stock. I wanted a 2 camera set + doorbell addon but none of them were avaialbe.

      • Same. Just want the doorbell

        • still hasnt been stocked in AU yet. Though been listed etc for months

          • @gazer: Wonder why?

            • @HotPie: I guess manufacture/supply issues? Good guys had it listed in March, but listing was pulled

    • +1

Hey mate, I’m considering to buy Eufy doorbell and 2C cameras as well. Could you let us know how’s the experience been with Eufy camera ecosystem and how the customer support is here in Aus? Thanks

      • +1

I have set up 3 of the 2c cameras, they are great and so far 3mths in and the battery is still showing 3/4 charge, They are really good in well lit areas, i have mine near the spotlights so i get a great picture. Night time they are not as great, not shit either, but the speaker function is handy and scares of most when you ask them what they are doing and turn on the spotlight.

For the price and easy of install / set up they are great.

        • Thanks for the info mate. One last thing, have you contacted their customer service? How’s it?

    • You can buy it separately. I got it for $212 from good guys commercial.

  • Is the doorbell really easy for a thief to just remove from the mount?

    • +1

I don’t think it would be too hard - the tool isn’t that special. You would at least get pretty good footage of them doing it as it’s saved to the base station.

      • +5

mines attached on 3M velcro straps. lol easily removed

        • Thanks for letting me know…ill take yours now

  • anyone want to share delivery to Melbourne please pm me!

  • Can the Eufy doorbells open a door/gate (electric strike release??)
This is a function I want with my front fence gate but to get this seems to jump me up to brands starting at about $700+ which sucks.

    • nah have to have some kinda automation, which eufy isnt great at supporting (yet?) with all their products
