Already have an 8xEufy 2C setup for similar price via Supercheap Auto. This came up while I was browsing on Amazon. Pretty good price for a 6 camera kit I reckon.

Being an import from US you'll probably need a simple adapter for the base unit provided it's 110-240V compatible.

Price History at C CamelCamelCamel.

Not sure why they are selling 6 cameras. You have to pay for the 6th camera to work unless you have another base station.

Not quite true. Here’s the detail from arlo kb:

How many cameras does Arlo support if I don't have an Arlo Smart subscription?

      This article applies to:
      VMC3030 VMC3040 VMC3040S VMC4030 VML4030 VMC4030P
If you don’t have an Arlo Smart subscription, Arlo supports five cameras. However, if you purchase one of the following kits, the service plan supports six cameras:
Arlo HD Security System with 4 Arlo Wire-Free and 2 Arlo Q cameras (VMK3500)
Arlo Pro Smart Security System with 6 Cameras (VMS4630)
Arlo Pro 2 Smart Security Camera System with 6 Cameras (VMS4630P)

This offer is for VMS4630P, so it should be fine.

      • Thanks. Didn’t know that.

    • It support upto 6 cameras.

  • Does anyone know if the cameras are boxed up individually? Reason I ask is I need and other 2 cameras so would want to sell of the rest to cut back costs.

    Thanks

People should be aware that Arlo Pro 2 video quality is now rubbish.

The Arlo Pro 2 quality has dropped so badly since early 2019 to a point now where my old original Arlo 720P video (I still use two of these cameras) is noticeably better.

There is a lengthy thread in the Arlo support forums right now about this. Arlo (not owned by Netgear any more) have being trying to reduce the cost of the 7 day cloud storage (free for Arlo Pro 2 & older) by reducing the bitrate that the supposed 1080P video is saved at. So while it is technically still 1080P the files have a smaller kbps than even the Arlo 720P video. The video files from my wife's Canon compact camera (1080P) are 19 times the size per second of video and yet both are supposed to be 1080P.

    https://community.arlo.com/t5/Arlo-Pro/Video-Pixelation-afte…

So don't think for a moment that the Arlo Pro 2 1080P is going to look anything like the 1080P (full HD) you get from a mobile phone or proper camera - it doesn't.

Right now it is a pixelated mess, especially when viewed on anything large than a phone screen. People from all around the world are currently lodging complaints with ACCC equivalents because these "security" cameras have such poor video that facial recognition (even in broad daylight) is impossible so they are completely useless for their primary intended purpose as security cameras.

I used to be a big fan of Arlo and bought a 4 camera kit (original Arlo 720P) in 2016, and a 3 camera Pro 2 kit in March 2019, but the company and support has really gone down the tubes since they split from Netgear. I definitely would not recommend Arlo anymore.

    • Have you decided which other system to switch to?

      • @Tdsr: Eufy would be in the mix given recent popularity on OzBargain I presume. Also mentioned a few times in the Arlo forum thread linked.

@Andy01: if you connect a HDD to the hub for recordings, do they look like a mess for the Pro 2's as well?
