Xiaomi Electric Scooter Pro $749 CC/+Delivery @ JB Hi-Fi

130

Not the cheapest price ever but from a brick and mortar store makes it easier if anything goes wrong etc + local warranty is definitely a bonus.

  • How many years is the warranty?

    • +1

It is 1 year manufacturer warranty. But you can buy extra 3-5 years warranty from JB. ;-)

      • Has that been changed recently? When I got mine 4 months ago, my mate who works there said they didn't offer any extended warranty on it (bought in Brisbane). 1 year warranty is straight swap for the entire period if anything goes wrong. They don't bother to send them away to get repaired :)

        • Would be an exceptionally good deal to get an extended warranty on these, but such gear wears down too much I guess.

In the market for an Electric Scooter, can someone kindly list the best top 5 Electric Scooters atm? Thanks in advance

This will depend on your needs. Range, power, built quality, off-road, and portability. Speaking from experience, I would say the ninebot max is a really good all rounder. It is built like a tank, the range is incredible and can do some unpave roads as well. It doesn’t have suspension though so you can still feel those bumps on the road but they are slightly dumpen by the rubber tyres. It is also reasonably priced. You can’t go wrong with this scooter. If money is not a problem and you just want the best, I would go for a zero 10x or kaabo mantis pro. They are among the best in the market at the moment. They also say the emove cruiser is the best when it comes to range, boasting a real world 100 kms on a full charge but the $2k+ price tag is a downer.

I've been looking at getting one recently too and was thinking of getting this one until I tried a workmates M365…

I am 90kg and if I am going to be commuting anything over 5km will need something with a lot more power and suspension which pushes the price over $1k.

      I'm looking at these two-

      1. Mercane Wide Wheel Pro (single or dual motor)
      2. Zero 9

From what I have read/ watched all of the Xiaomi and Segway affordable scooters up to $1200 are ok for short commutes but aren't very comfortable or powerful.

Check out Ben Fox on YouTube, lots of detailed reviews and he keeps things intetesting.

Edited after seeing the above reply-

The Zero 10x is right up there at the top of the heap but is crazy expensive. The Zero 9 and Wide Wheel seem to fit nicely between the Xiaomi/Segway 'average' scooters. It seems quite common for people to buy a Xiaomi and then upgrade to a more expensive one 6 months later. After riding the Xiaomi I'm just going to skip it and go a bit better from the start.

      • The widewheel is very nice although they say it might be very hard to maneuver at speeds due to its wider wheels. Folding it might be a pain. You will need to turn a knob to lock or release the stem. If you want speed and power, this might be the one for you. Although with its slick tyres, I’m not sure how it will perform on grass. Other than that, it’s a great scooter. Get the pro version 15ah. You can get one from dubitz for $1650 if you message them through facebook and ask for a deal.

      • "I am 90kg and if I am going to be commuting anything over 5km will need something with a lot more power and suspension which pushes the price over $1k"

The above is not quite true - with custom firmware readily avail, you can do ~30kph sustained on the M365 Pro up to 120kg (check out the facebook groups that chat about it). Lots of people putting out their own versions that adapt to more uphill power etc….

M365 Pro range is +40km on standard settings anyways

Suspension can be added on for the front wheel for about $100 i think

Did you try the standard M365…if so, that may be the reason - the other one is slower with smaller battery.

I bought a Pro and an ES4 at the same time. I weigh 95kg and the Pro gets upto 25kmh, and isn’t slow, but the ES4 in sports mode puts it to shame. It’s insanely fast compared to the Pro, it easily gets upto 32kmh, and pulls much harder. I got my ES2 from the Amazon deal and added a battery to make it an ES4. Cost was under $730 for both and in my mind it’s a better scooter, despite the online reviews. It’s certainly much more powerful. Also on an interesting note, I find the Pro rear disc lacklustre (and I’ve adjusted it), compared to the ES4s rear foot brake and front motor brake combined. The Pro really needs an active front brake too. (Again in contrast to reviews).

These are great value for money. I’ve got 300km on mine so far. I’ve put custom firmware on it so tha the top speed is now closer to 33kph. Loads of online groups and lots of 3D printable upgrades. Awesome machine for the price. Whilst other dual motor scooters might be faster, smoother ride, more gadgets etc,,, they do cost 2-3x the price and at $2k you may as well buy a moped.

Very happy with mine, would definitely recommend.

Interesting that JB’s are selling them, a big mainstream shop like them is selling such a scooter whilst the laws for public road use are yet to catch up perhaps?. Just my $0.02 worth.

      • Can you post a link to the instructions you used? Mine came with firmware 1.6.8 and all the instructions I’ve found online are for lower firmwares. Also what level did you set your motor power to?

      • @ max 25kph upgraded to 33kph, breaking the law and wanted it legalise?

  • So whats the discount?

  • Don't forget to pay with discounted JB Hi-Fi gift cards. This will give you another 5% off.

    • How to get discounted gift cards?

99% sure it’s a fake. It doesn’t have Xiaomi mentioned and I can’t see the logo where you stand from the photos.

      • +1

For sure a fake, or modified copy. Tyres, 10" vs 8.5" on xiaomi, Motor 500W, vs the M365 standard 250W (500W max), M365 Pro 300W (600W max).
Climbs 14 degrees, same as standard M365, pro can do 20 degree (according to specs, I call bs on both though)

For $20 more you get a genuine standard M365 $620 after discount, https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/xiaomi-xiaomi-electric-scooter-…

    • Thanks guys. Glad I checked with you before going to Jbhifi for a price match, since their previous generation is called M365…Lol.. Ended up calling the store, they did confirm this product is not from Xiaomi. Counterfeiting a Chinese Product..

  • If the range is not an issue, will ES2 in sport mode be comparable to the M365 pro?

  • Too powerful for Victorian roads… $826 fine if caught, more than the initial purchase price.
