Australian Dry Roasted, Smoked or Wasabi Almond $12/kg, Walnut $11/kg + Delivery @ Nuts About Life

1200
TAKEE10FREESHIP

Was checking this website before going out to stock up on nuts, really good deal for roasted almond and probably as cheap as they can get.

Bought 6kg of stuff in total and shipping was super reasonable (less than $7 to VIC)

I bought cashews from the previous deal and the quality is far better than expected.

FREESHIP
Minimum order of $100+ to use code. Only works for shipping charge of $20 or below.

TAKE5
TAKEE10
No minimum spend. Excludes products in "Deal Corner"

  • How much usually at Coles and Woolworths and ALDI?

    • +2

prolly cheaper but most ain't aussie nuts.

      • These aren't all "aussie" nuts either.

        "Country of Origin: Australia/ Imported"

      • thats the best comment ive heard in a long time, Australia produces hardly any nuts for its own consumption, and the biggest produce is macadamia and almond.

they are cheap for a reason, because they are low grade, why do you think they roast them or put honey, chilli on them.

    • these are cheaper buy a few $ so a good deal

    • +2

Coles doesn’t sell Australian walnuts, only Woolies does and on sale it’s $8/500g ($16/kg) pack so this is a really good price however it says walnut halves and pieces - if it’s all broken bits then it’s probably not great value. Coles usually has special price for Australian raw almonds (I don’t normally buy dry roasted or smoked so this is all I have for comparison) and it’s $12/800g ($15/kg).

  • +1

Thanks. Bought 9 kilo nuts. Almonds are $4 less than Aldi. Got free shipping.

  • +3

expensive shipping plus you have to give your details to find out :(

    • Ah sorry to hear that, I think as they are based in VIC shipping locally is very reasonable but doesn't seem to be the case to other states.

    • Free shipping $100+

  • Anyone in Perth wanna share an order?

*to reach over $100 and avoid the $14 shipping

    • +1

I can if you want. I probably only want to spend around $45. I'm in Armadale and work near the airport.

      • +2

Turns out when I reach the $100 minimum spend with 8 packets the shipping fee is $23.4 so not eligible for the free shipping pffft

        • too bad. if you do manage to get free shipping tag me i'm interested in group buy.

        • +2

@barozgain: TAKEE10 worked out cheaper for me than free shipping

              • +2

                @4foxache: weird cause mine said:

TAKEE10 discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart

                • @barozgain: I bought mostly non sale stuff only got 1kg of the wasabi almonds

      • If we use the referral and spend 50+ the shipping fees will be around $7

This company is pretty good, bought quite a bit off them since their original chocolate covered chilli peanuts, delivery was quick and quality was great! Would definitely recommend their products.

    • +2

      Would definitely recommend their products.

I wish shipping charges were reasonable though. High shipping kinda kills the deal.

      • +1

I highly agree, sad for those of us in the West Coast that shipping is more than other states

  • +2

    Shame….

Shipping kills the deal. I put over $100 in cart and still charging $19.00 to send to 2450.

  • +1

None of the codes (TAKE5, TAKE10, FREESHIP) were working for me. Also shipping is $10 to ACT.

    • FREESHIP works for me, also ACT, but not keen on spending $100+

Only looking to spend around $20

      • Ah didn’t realise there was a minimum spend!

        • Both TAKE5 and TAKEE10 will not work on any products in "deal corner" category

Ingredients: Almonds, Inactive dried smoked yeast, Salt, Flavour enhancer (621), Natural Smoke Flavour, Rice Bran Oil

The smoked almonds have MSG (as do the wasabi almonds)

    • +8

I'm not sure if that's a problem, unless you've had a reaction you attribute to MSG.

"However, researchers have found no definitive evidence of a link between MSG and these symptoms. Researchers acknowledge, though, that a small percentage of people may have short-term reactions to MSG. Symptoms are usually mild and don't require treatment. The only way to prevent a reaction is to avoid foods containing MSG. https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-h…

      • +9

I think his letting us know so we buy it. We all love our MSG

      • -1

i don't think MSG is good for people with a heart condition,
        or who take blood-pressure medication.

i just know that salt is bad for blood-pressure.

      • +2

I just explain to people, to think of it as another version of salt, don't have too much

    • +4

I love MSG. My fried rice is laced with it.

    • +3

I can't live without my MSG

  • +1

The herbs and spices are much cheaper than supermarkets.

    • +1

Which ones did you end up getting?

      • None this time. I bought some kilos of cashews at $10kg from an Oz bargain deal. Next time I got heaps of stuff by the kg or 1/2kg, curry, mustard, garam masala, coriander, ginger, cumin, turmeric, Basil, Oregano, mixed herbs, black beans, red kidney beans, chick peas, black eyed beans. And cranberries and other stuff

Freeship NOTE: ONLY WHERE THE SHIPPING CHARGE IS $20 AND BELOW
That never worked for me, too weighty, too regional, you'd think they could just knock $20 off your freight.

  • -2

costco seems to be cheaper by a lot.

    • +1
      • The online prices tend to be higher than the instore ones - perhaps because the online prices also include shipping?

    • Almonds at Costco are $28 for 1.3kg and I'm pretty sure the dry roasted almonds are around $25 for 1.1kg. So this is much cheaper!!!

      • Haven't been able to find unsalted ones either at Costco

    • They aren't

  • Freeship worked for me until I put in my details and made it nearly $15

    • Tried a dummy shop with a postcode in Perth. Can also confirm rejects the free shipping code. That Turkish delight looks good.

  • Just went nuts - ordered about 10kgs worth. Only the free shipping code worked

  • +4

Ingredients: Almonds, Maltodextrin (corn, potato), Soya sauce powder, salt, lactose, sugar, Monosodium glutamate, 621, Wheat starch, Natural flavouring complex(s), Modified tapioca starch, 1450, Caramel colour, 150c, Synthetic flavouring substance(s), Sodium diacetate, 262(ii), Thermal process flavouring(s), Disodium 5'-ribonucleotides, 635, Glucose, Ascorbic acid, 300, Rice bran Oil.

    Yikes.

  • You can get almonds from Harris farm easily for that price if it on sale. I like the natural ones, unsalted and not roasted.

  • Would love To give these a go . Shipping is a killer
    To perth though

  • -1

    Damn thats good hemp

  • Did anyone manage to stack the freeship with takee10? it is only accepting one.

    • +1

takee10 won't work on the sale items, but I managed to use the freeship as i spent $110.

      • Cheers! Freeship worked for me too, I don't think of it as spending $220 on items but saving $20 on shipping. Ya bargain!!

  • Whats the minimum for FREESHIP?

    • Oof it's $100. I'm out.

  • Anyone in brisbane wants to sharw an order with me?

  • Too bad Ozbargain referral system doesn't have this store and blocks referrals as posts. It's $10 off

    • You can request for store referrals to be added, and why dont you just post the store name without your referral if you want to help people

  • Can anyone comment on their wasabi nuts, as I’ve never tried them but I’ve had really good and really bad tasting ones from other companies.

    • Was keen to try too but $10 shipping for me. Or any other place that sells wasabi nuts ? Have only tried the US "Blue Diamond" ones which are great and haven't seen any local ones.

    • Got my order and am happy with it. Twice the bang for bucks of importing the US version and just as good.

  • FREESHIP code worked for my order over $100 to Sydney postcode. I bought the nuts on sale so the other discount codes didn’t work. Still a good price for Aussie nuts!

  • The NAL referral looks pretty good. Copping an order over $50 rn, anyone willing to drop their referral link?

    • +1

I just checked - you can't post a referral code and Nuts about life hasn't been added to the list yet. Your best bet would be to pm someone for it.

      • +1

Haha made an account just to get the referral links and I can't pm anyone bc my account is too young. Life is goooood

        • happy to pm you a link if you change your settings to accepting messages :)

  • Thanks OP. I'll give them a go

  • Anyone pm me a referral? What does referral do anyway?

  • Guys my 10% code was TAKEE10 not TAKE10

Also the freeshop code doesn't work for my order ($100+), the website says the free shopping doesn't work in my area (Box Hill, VIC)

  • +1

    Just ordered, thanks OP!

This deal is still available, why was it marked as expired?

    Criteria for the listed coupons

    FREESHIP
Minimum spend of $100+ to use code. Only works for shipping charge of $20 or below.

TAKE5 and TAKEE10 (these codes are from spinning the wheel on their website, 5% and 10% off respectively)
No minimum spend. Both TAKE5 and TAKEE10 will not work on any products in "deal corner" category

  • I wonder why the deal is marked expired? I successfully used FREESHIP coupon code. And the deal was not about coupons anyway but rather about bargain prices on items

    • Fixed now.

      • Thank you

  • I just purchased $100+ items with free shipping to 2145 using FREESHIP

  • +2

Nuts about Life referral has been set up

    Thanks scrimshaw!

  • I made a purchase for $52 + $11.63 shipping. Used a random referral that deducted a $10 discount. So, it was almost free shipping. Great deal.

  • +1

Products seem great, prices of those on special seem excellent, love that they clearly stated their Best before dates….only thing I'd suggest is a nutritional breakdown for EVERY product on sale - quite a lot of them didn't have this.

Very reasonable shipping - though as with many I went above $100.

Also love that I believe this guy is an OzBer - love the family history as well on the website, adds a nice touch. Well done seller.

  • Never bought nuts and herbs worth $100 in one go before. Bought 2kg of hulled hemp seeds. That was pretty good value for $15/kg. Also the TAKEE10 And FREESHIP did not stack for me. I ended up paying shipping.

  • No codes are working for me $100+ order.

  • We buy from here often. Happy with products and prices.

  • Is there an option to pick up? Brunswick is right nearby, feels like a waste to not just walk a couple of metres to pick it up

  • Some great exceptions, but on the whole quite pricey. Especially for organic nuts/seeds! Also too many products from China for my liking (personal opinion, no flames please!).

  • $10 shipping for me To Sydney . Ouch

    • +1

You can get $10 off $50 spend if you use referral. Which pretty much offsets the shipping costs. The nut prices are pretty cheap so its a win in my books :)

      • Ah thanks will try it out

    • Want to split?

  • Got my shipment today, awesome quality nuts, loving the wasabi almonds.

    • Got mine yesterday, both the normal roasted almond and wasabi almost are absolutely delicious! It will be tough to go back to Aldi nuts after I finish these.
