Would the colours peel off with use later on?

Wow. I can see a niche for Australian manufacturing. Your mission - produce an enamelled cast iron pot for under $300.

      would be $500 if Australian-made.

And nobody would pay that much for it because it's not made in France.

  • Surely no one has ever paid the full $700+ price have they?

    • Hopefully not haha..

Matt Black $267 on appliances online. Its on pre order though.

    • the gf wants pink, and nowhere else has it so only good for niche colours it seems!

      • They have the pink.one in OP's link

  • I still have mine unopened from IKEA last Christmas for $29.

  • thats expensive

  • What makes these (and others like Le Creuset) so expensive? Genuine question. We have an el-cheapo enamelled cast iron pot that is heavily used and even after many years still works just fine. Retains heat well, enamel is still good (a bit discoloured) etc. Only thing that might be better is the stainless knob, our pot's is some type of plastic and I'm worried one day it's going to come off when you lift the lid.

    • A lot of the cheapies are made from recycled metals.

    • Got to be brand snobbery.

  • I'll just stick with the 26cm Le Creuset I got from myer the other week for $300.

There's only so much bread I can bake at once!
