It is not the best for calls but is a great wireless noise canceling headphone. The BEST in my opinion and in a lot of reviews.
It is better to use headphones than using their laptop mic and speaker. You can also increase your microphone boost.
I use the older version of it WH-1000XM2 with microphone boost set to +10.0db and never had people complaining about my voice.
I am using one right now as I type. I couldn't be happier. Great headphones. I have used so many different headphone brands and models in the past. I have tested pretty much every single headphones at JB before I bought the Sony MX3.
If you want a great sounding headphones with superb noise cancelling. This is the best.
BTW, I asked the guy nicely for a deal. I showed him a deal on ebay. At the time it was going for similar price $335 (on ebay). He gave it to me for $329
any suggestions for the WFH ones?
I've used mine for Skype/Teams calls with no issues or complaints

It doesn't look like the XM4 will be hugely different (except maybe improved call quality) and it's unlikely they'll be able to get in range of this price for a while (especially if they price match for you).
I'd go for these. XM3 might get a bit cheaper once the 4 releases but they are still hugely popular and high selling headphones so I don't think $290 will be beaten right away.

long long ago i bought this for 320 i guess on ebay goodguys. If you are buying this for attending calls/WFH, DONT BUY, People complain my voice is so low and I ended up using Laptop mic. You can get this for entertainment. good battery backup too.
