In chess, a winning game starts with the very first move. It doesn't matter how creative you may be in the middle game or endgame if you lose the opening. Your goal while playing the opening should be to reach a familiar and comfortable position. This is what this app is all about.

This app will help you define a complete chess opening plan and will train you to execute it. It will also allow you to define mid-games or end games if you also want to train on these aspects of the game. The app uses an proven memorizing technique called "spaced repetition" which is probably be the most powerful technique in existence for improving your brain's ability to recall what you study. It continuously identifies moves that give you more challenge and helps you to improve by using an effective pattern of repetitions. The perfect execution of the plan you prepared will give you a serious advantage against any opponent.

The concept is very simple and easy to use: you select and enter only one move for your own color (your best move) and then you enter all possible opponent's moves in response to your move.

Thanks OP - highly praised Google store comments, Dev seems very responsive. Note this seems to be more a (serious) trainer than simply a game player.

If you like chess, it's probably a good time to start watching the battle between traditional style chess engines and the new style AI learning chess engines. It's not quite a fair battle being on phones, but Droidfish, based on Stockfish, is available on Android for free, and you can also install Leela chess into it, a simplified version of the machine learning engine that is taking the competitive chess engine world by storm. Some of the moves and trades it accepts are crazy to our human pea brains. It's potentially quite an important time in history where machines that taught themself how to play in a few hours are outperforming the best classical chess engines.
