  • I missed out on the Amazon $129 deal, so bought this set. Thanks OP.

I didn’t miss out that deal and now lost $40😔

      • If it’s any consolation, they’re different sets. So you might have gotten a better deal, but I'm no expert.

        • yeah mine is better in all ways.. hehe

  • thanks!

  • ozbargained already guys, keep an eye out it might come back in stock.

    • FYI, you have the ability to mark the deal expired.

  • I recall I posted knife deals before, what brings to everyone to buy more kitchen knives? Is it because we can't find any other bargains?

    • +2

People are stuck at home and want to cut more things

      • You mean VIC?

  • This set was:
    - G-4 Oriental Cooks 18cm
    - GS-54 Oriental Santoku 12cm
    - GS-58 Oriental Cooks 11cm

    Other set was:
    - 9cm Paring,
    - 20cm Cooks Fluted,
    - 13cm Cooks

  • ….and its gone.

  • Great price.
I think this 6 piece set is also good value at $258.99 posted but there's only 2 left so get in quick.
I'd say I use the 8cm paring and 11cm utility knife more than any others. The 18/20cm Cook's knife seems to get thrown in every set but I find them pretty uncomfortable, much prefer their Chef's knives which have a thicker handle/bolster but you can't get them in a set.

    • Sets are OK for price, but if you want good knives sets are not really the way to go. They will do it just fine, but there are better options when you mix and max choosing knives from different brands and origins suited to the particular purpose. Of course it gets far more complex like that. Will cost you though, and sets look pretty on display in the kitchen.

Big chunky Euro for pumpkins, and finer Jap for slicing fish or something (for example). Theres plenty of countries that make decent knives.

I prefer a longer Chefs knife, 20 is just too small IMO.

      • I think for the average punter, a set/block is a good way of starting a collection, provided most/all the knives in the set are useful.

I also prefer a longer Chef's knife. I've got the Global G-16 24cm and GF-35 30cm. The 30cm is great but requires a very big cutting board. The 24 is a good size for day to day use IMO.

    • Broden? Is that you? :-)

    • Someone is working hard to be the new broden, won't work though, your username doesnt lend itself to becoming a verb.

      I mw13'd it doesn't sound as good as I broden'd it.

        • Send a video of you singing and dancing Im a little teapot to one of the mods. I heard thats the only way.

      Whoever negged you is a sour-jealous meanie-bobbini

      Edit: I'm an idiot

      • +2

You must be new here.. I suspect this comment will receive many more negs because people a) don’t like people who brag about cleaning out stock so the majority miss out and b) can sometimes be a bit “meanie-bobbini” ha

@mw13: You are either trolling or the worst person ever.

        • That's why I'm an idiot, y'know? :(

    • I see you tend to milk a lot of these deals. Same type who got all the toilet paper and hand sanitizer earlier on in the year too? Mark it up on your own ebay?
