  • Just checking the site. Looks like you have to know exactly what hotel you want to stay in and purchase a specific gift card that's for that hotel?

    • yea i was checking also, that's not convenient to use unless you know exactly which hotel you would like to stay

      • Yep, sounded like a nice deal, but it's too hard to commit to a specific hotel with the current events going on.

  • Hi JayZ and thank you for your question.

Yes, this is correct. Gift cards are based on specific hotel preferences. We have an extensive range of hotels in major destinations across Australia.

    Hope this helps.

would definitely these IF we had the flexibility of choosing which hotel to redeem these in ANZ

otherwise it's a no from me

      • Hi who i am,

Sorry to hear that this offer is not for you and thank you, this is valuable feedback for our future promotions.

        Kind regards

  • Can they be used for any hotel rates?

    • Hi Lachyy,

      Thank you for your question.

Gift cards can be used for hotel stays and terms & conditions are available on each gift card page prior to purchase.

      Kind regards

So you have to choose a location , lock in and can't change or more importantly can't be used with best price found .
BTW normally can find best offers from 3 rd parties at 40-50% off your RRP .

        • Have to disagree - Marriott (and other major chains) don't have deep discount relationships with Booking.com etc so generally always cheaper to book direct.

Not to say that its not worth a shop around but as a general rule, this is not true.

  • can this be combined with the "SAVE UP TO 20% ON ROOMS & SUITES through August 31, 2020, bonvoy members booking directly" email I got this morning? :)

    Spoil alert.
There is a 3% Booking Fee based on the discounted value.

Oh wow this is important to note in the description, mods? Not 20% discount at all lol

      • +1

Effectively 17.6% discount & it appears must be used in its entirety in a single booking.

I was interested when I saw Port Douglas on the list but then found the only product they were offering was $50 a day to buy a seat by the pool… WTF. Honestly, with occupancy rates in The Cairns area @ 10% surely you should make sitting by a pool free and discount the room rates to encourage people to come on up…

  • So no flexibility with property.
Even if they are at 20% off, I’d rather buy Accor cards when they are at a 10% discount (or equivalent bonus points) in Woollies and I can use them for any property in AUS, at any time (e.g.: when they have sales) and use them on hotel extras as well like restaurants, room service and spa treatments.

Tip: Make it easy. Create flexibility. Money will flow in. Try to be restrictive and it will flop and people will not trust the brand.

sweet, I'm staying at the ritz

  • why marriott wants to restrict these gift card only used for one hotel?
