Hi OP, whats the sRGB of the screen?

    • Hi there, This is a new model, I'll get those details on Monday from the supplier and post it.

    • +1

If it is a massive concern upgrade to a 98% sRGB 144Hz IPS is listed as $99

    • +1

Here are the specs of the 120Hz.

      120HZ Display is from PANDA LM156LFGL -
      15.6 / Contrast - 1000:1 / 63% SRGB - 250 Nits

  • Wouldnt happen to be any deals on the Prime-Ai?

    • +1

      I'll PM you

  • +2

What %srgb is the default display?

    • Hi Jenny Death, I'll post this on Monday :)

    • +1

Here are the specs of the 120Hz.

      120HZ Display is from PANDA LM156LFGL -
      15.6 / Contrast - 1000:1 / 63% SRGB - 250 Nits

  • +12

Would I be wrong in expecting 512GB and maybe 16GB for this price?
Heaps of deals for Lenovos and Dells lately so this doesn't seem very good at all

    • +7

Agreed, it's not even a deal at this point

      • Whats really ironic is he has actually understated the nominal 'saving'.
He has listed the saving over and above the Metabox EOFYS sale price, which they claim is another $450 below RRP.

Could have said save $550. Said Save $100

Really seems to be trying to do the right thing here, and i doubt you can find THIS CLEVO LAPTOP cheaper.
I feel for the guy. Honest Dealing doesnt deserve these negs

    • +2

Its actually a decent deal for a Clevo chassis.

    • +2

To be fair, the upgrade to 16GB is $39 and 500GB is $29 on top (if you are ok with Kingston). These are the newer 10th Gen CPUs, but you do lose the included OEM Windows 10 that the Dells and Lenovos come with.

Hey Rep (Kris?).. Looking at upgrading my 3 yr+ old P670RE and need the 17" screen. Any chance to get this one down to $2k on the dot?

Thanks for your post bchliu, Good to hear from you again :)
Send me a PM, I'll see what I can do as a return customer.
$2K is well under our cost pricing though, but hey, you've gotta ask otherwise you'll never know :)

    • +5

      This really is shocking value.

      No bargain

      • Hey poshjimmyxo,
I thought using the word "shocking" means that I have offended you here. My apologies!
I haven't had someone call one of our deals this severe of a word before :) Is it really that bad?
The base price is usually $1829 for this 10th Gen Intel model and is higher than the old 9th Gen model as the supply of the new 6 Core i7 chips are in short supply.

Out of interest, what is your fair price on this product?
The similar MSI GL65 is $2399. If you spec up our deal to the same specs as the MSI (with W10, 16GB & 512GB PCIe SSD) then it comes to $1957.
        https://www.kongcomputers.com.au/laptops/laptops-by-brand/ms…
        Saving almost $450.

The Aorus 5 is $2299, down from $2499.

        • Appreciate the level-headed and thoughtful response.

Prices are relative. There's no much thing as fair, or shocking.

I bought 12mo ago, and have been following prices of RTX laptops.

For $2K I got i7, 2060 (non Max q), 16GB dual lane, 1TB SSD (PCIe), 120Hz IPS, Windows, SteelSeries keys, local warranty, branded manufacturer.

I still consider that a good deal. I've seen better, if you bargain hunt and are patient. I've seen a few 2070 laptops for sub-$2K.

Relative to the better bargains that have been found since RTX release, I think this is shocking value. But in the current climate, and for someone that needs to buy now, this may present good value?

          • +1

@poshjimmyxo: Cheers for the reply, I'm going to keep your reply on stand-by from now on and whenever my wife says that I'm being irrational, I'll show her your reply :) :) "Appreciate the level-headed and thoughtful response."

Definitely, that deal you got was great a year ago. We had a similar one for $1769 back in October 2019 with 17.3" RTX2060, i7 9th Gen, 16GB RAM. The shortfall was the SSD, but you could have upgraded it to 1TB SSD. It would have been $100 cheaper too if it was the 15.6" model instead of 17.3". The 9th Gen CPU's had been about for some time too, so the prices had leveled off. So you definitely bought at the right time.
Today's circumstances are just so much different.
I think I took your comments a bit too personal originally, so thanks for clarifying.
But definitely hit us up when you are ready to upgrade your laptop again :) I'll sort a deal for you. The market should (hopefully) be better then.
            Cheers and stay safe.
            Kris

    • Hi Raynes, Thanks for the post.
We have set the product with the base config so customers can upgrade only what they want in the laptop. I'd like to think that the Metabox brand is the most customisable laptop on the market :)
But you are correct in saying that 512GB and 16GB is more the norm these days. We find that most customers ask for 16GB RAM (2x8GB) and 500GB or 1TB SSD lately. However some customers also want to install their own SSD's from their old laptop as well.

BTW, I had a look at the link that you posted, there's a lot of different specs on there between those Dell models. It's hard to compare, the i7-10750H model only had the GTX1650Ti. Intel 10th Gen 6 Core CPU's (i7-10750H) are in short supply at the moment. Hence their premium price since launch on the new 10th gen models. AMD has a bit of a leap here.
Plus it's always a luxury to be the manufacturer and post great deals :), we have to buy from the supplier so the margins are tighter.
      Cheers
      Kris

Would you be dropping any ryzen 7 4800 any time soon ?

    • If you arent too concerened about power consumption and want ridiculous performance check out Metabox's deals on the Prime-Ai, it uses socketed DESKTOP Ryzen 3000 CPUs

      • As per what i know ryzen 3000 Series isn't that good compared to 4000 series,

        • +1

Ryzen 3000 Desktop is the same as Ryzen 4000 mobile - they are both identical Zen2 7nm cores
Ryzen 2000 Desktop is the same as Ryzen 3000 mobile - Zen+ 12nm

Ryzen 3000 Desktop is a LOT faster than Ryzen 4000 Mobile.

(the fact you dont know this is why they do it in the first place, horrible marketing practice)

Bought a laptop from these guys through a deal on here a couple of years ago. Never used the Laptop outside my desk at home and the casing cracked from closing/opening the laptop after light use.

Explained the situation one month outside of warranty and was told that due to it being outside the warranty period it would incur a $244 repair cost just to repair the plastic casing. They aren't obliged to do anything of course, but was hoping they would support the customers supporting the site!

Will be looking elsewhere once it eventually dies, definitely for a decent desktop next time round (lesson learned)

    • Hi Fooah, I want to look into this. Can you send through the invoice number and I'll investigate it.
      Kris

  • any deal on the prime-S rep?

    • Have sent you a PM

  • +6

Nothing about this one screams bargain.

    • What type of laptop (and specs) are you looking for?
      Kris

  • +1

how is this one even a deal?

    • Have you found this one cheaper elsewhere? I'll see if I can price match it :)
      Kris

  • -1

Yeah agreed, so much worse value compared to last deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/492152 which had double the RAM, a 2060 and 17" screen for same price.

Not their fault though…it's the current climate…have to ride the COVID tax out.

    • +1

Correct, all of the new 6 Core Intel i7's are in short supply and hence their premium price. This is the best we can do right now, price wise.

  • Hi there, is there a similar discount for the Metabox Prime-V PB51DDS-G?

    • Hi Leefo, Please send me a PM. Thanks Kris

      • Hi Kris, I cannot send PMs, as my account is new here. Can you send me one first? I might be able to reply to it afterwards.
