I say if in need of some quick emergency power to your laptop you can for ten minutes or so, but longer if you have a high capacity/dual battery. You could always start the car or use whilst driving. After all, that's why you pay for the privilege of running a car, just don't do it too often.

This thing sold in China xiaomi for less than 15 dollars all day long. and if you go to taobao with international shipping its still less than 30 dollars anywhere. this is not a bargain it's a rip off.

True, the whole kit 36w car charger with the 63w expansion is about AUD25 shipped to my apartment in China.
Though, i cannot find any being shipped to Australia on Taobao intl.
Even if i buy one and ask my tenant to ship the product to me, it would easily cost me extra AUD30-40 to get here in a week.
You are right tapbao is not the most English friendly shopping place, but ebay would do. you made the point your self. if you can get for 27 dollars on Ebay, 50 bux is not a bargain is it.
Check the price a bit more careful for the Full Kit, not just the car charger Only on ebay.
