Halo Down Jacket $99.99 Delivered @ Macpac

2090

Men’s and women’s Halo down jacket for $99.99 with free shipping (although it’s technically under the minimum $100 free shipping threshold, it seems to be free shipping). Seems to be in stock and available in all colours. Best to go a size down with these jackets. Available in store as well.

note: the last time this was posted, some had issues with items showing as in stock, but was out of stock upon check out. I’m hoping there’s no issues this time round.

Anyone looking at this should also consider ULD jackets from Uniqlo currently on sale for $80 that are not as bulky

  • Thanks!! Nabbed one. :)

  • Bought Thanks OP

  • I'm wearing the hooded version right now, cost $99 last year.

    • +1

I prefer the aesthetics of the non-hooded, probably the case for others as well. The usefulness of the hood is limited in my opinion.

      • +3

Agree, however it acts like neck support while reclined on my layzboy.
I rarely use the jacket outside.

        • I like your thinking.

    • Looks like the hooded jacket (men's) is $149 now.

      Is that correct?

  • Picked one up locally, only one size S left

  • Winter is kind of ending, should I still grab one? And hooded or normal? cheers

    • +2

Not close to ending. We have Jul and Aug…….and remember these are light so have use well into spring.

    • Sydney, pffft. You guys are amateurs when it comes to winter. We got back from Europe last year, around this time, and bought one of these on special. The man got a lot of wear out of it before winter finished in Melbourne.

Aldi jackets have 800 RDS and Macpac halo has 600 RDS, so why is this being preferred more compared to ALDI

    • +1

Because Aldi stuff is usually cheap for a reason

Does the jacket have a duck smell to it?

    • Nope

      • I just received it and theres a noticeable duck smell to it when I put my nose up to it. I should exchange it?

        • +2

I think give it time and it’ll go away. I doubt that there’s a defect with yours. It’s just how it is.

    • Very minor if anything

    • nice and fresh

    • I bought one last year and returned it as it smelled very chemically. Probably the nasties in the waterproofing layer. I probably should have given it a few months to go away tho as they're good value for money

  • +1

Thanks OP. Grabbed one myself and bought my missus one too. Both stoked!

    • Best $200 you’ll ever spend. I’ve had mine for 4 years now and it’s the best thing ever during the colder months in Melbourne. Enjoy.

    Ordered one. Thanks OP.

  • The size/colour I want are no longer available. Does anyone here know if more stock will be available during the sale? I was earlier told in store that the sale goes until the 12th.

    • Just spoke to someone that said stock will be available in two weeks time and probably won't be in time for the sale end date.

Fingers crossed the size we're after will be back in stock in time!

      • Halo mens without hoodie back in stock for most colours btw.

  • FWIW I like mine but regret not buying the hooded version

  • Anybody else’s feathers coming out of their jacket? What to do what to do?? They say to put them in the dryer with some tennis balls, but I don’t think I have a dryer. Any alternate methods?

    • Whats the point of putting the feathers in a dryer with tennis balls :-)

Ok ok, I know what you mean. Hang on line and a nice bit of fresh air and puff it up with your hands. ……shake it around etc.

    • Put it on an airer near your heating system and fluff it out every now and again whilst drying. You can buy down cleaning liquid from Kathmandu. It isn’t cheap but it is meant to be better for the feathers. None of my down jackets seem to lose feathers.

    • How many feathers? If it’s just a few feathers sporadically coming out of the seams of the jacket, then I wouldn’t worry about it. Happens to mine.

  • Any secret to get these jackets "fluffed up". My son has had one for about a year and it great and puffed up and looks thick if you know what I mean. I purchased the same one, just got it, got it out of the bag, been hanging on coat hanger for about a week, I have shook it to fluff up the down to make it look "puffier". But it basically flat, with no "fat rolls", if you know what I mean! Does it take ages to go to normal size? Cannot remember my son having that problem with his.
