Chivas Regal MIZUNARA Special Edition is a Scotch whisky inspired by Japan. It was created by Master Blender Colin Scott with the Japanese palate in mind. Part of the blend is aged in Japanese Mizunara casks. Mizunara is Japanese oak and it's used to age Japanese whisky such as Suntory's Yamazaki Single Malt. This is the first time a Scotch whisky has aged in Japanese wood! It's East meets West in a bottle.

    I normally drink whiskey, rye or bourbon but for some reason hate drinking the regular Chivas. Would you like this if you hated the regular Chivas?

      I believe this is their take on japanese whiskey. I remember enjoying it when I tasted it, but i don't hate chivas either

    would like to pick up one for dad who likes Chivas
    I'm assuming that being aged in Japanese oak it would taste different

    How does this compare to standard chivas regal?

      I haven't try it, but a friend of mine tried it when he was overseas and said it's really nice and smooth, way better than the standard Chivas.

      This will be my first purchase and try.

    I got a bottle at First Choice Kenmore, QLD for $50.
    I think it’s good value for money at this discounted price point. I wouldn’t pay much more than that though, definitely not a $100 whiskey, IMHO.
