    • Yeah same, Amazon can't replace due to o/s stock can only return for full refund

      • Same here got a refund. Already processed, makes me feel good I went with amazon because it was sorted so quickly, but still feel kinda weird theres a ton of stolen 3800x's were purchased direct from amazon UK, doesnt make much sense to me

        • That's good to hear. The CS rep I spoke with says a refund won't be started till they receive the item, wonder if I can get it expedited since it's just a cooler. Agree so weird that so many cpu's are missing

        • how did you start the refund claim? using the return option, and selecting 'missing parts or accessories', refund will only be processed once item is received.

EDIT: Spoke to a customer rep via online chat and she confirmed (twice) that she's already begin the process of the refund even though I haven't send the item back. Looks like they're aware of a syndicated robbery in their warehouses if they're handing out refunds willy nilly.

  • Same as above two comments. Arrived via DHL and box had been tampered with. CPU missing and only cooler left. Speaking with Amazon CS currently.

Edit; Due to o/s stock cannot be replaced only refunded. No prepaid shipping label can be made so must pay shipping at first and will be refunded once it arrives at warehouse.

  • Unlucky for the people who got their CPUs stolen.. Received mine today in perfect condition from the UK.

  • Mine arrived today. Opened it up and was baffled because the CPU is missing, same as above.

    • Lol someone in DHL supply chain did a massive stealing ! 500 CPUs sold from Amazon UK to AU, siphoned and sold at $200 pounds each made 100000 GBP, high paying job :D

      • I hate how I have to send the CPU cooler back, wait for them to receive it, before they issue the refund.

I normally post through DHL but it feels a bit stupid sticking a commercial invoice on the returns box saying "Ryzen 7 3800x". The CPU Cooler might not even make it back.

        • you must be unlucky with the rep possibly? i just used online chat and after insisting that i get a refund now as i needed the funds urgently to get a replacement, she just processed it and asked that i send the box and cooler back asap.

    • Is it possible 1 supplier sold the CPU's to amazon like that? Or did the outer packaging boxes also look they had been opened?

  • +3

Yup - same here, mine arrived just now via DHL. Outer Amazon box looked tatty (first suspicion something was wrong) but black Amazon security tape was intact and unbroken. Opened it up and noticed straight away the AMD seal broken on the packaging and the CPU missing in cutout window.

Update: Spoken to Amazon customer support. Like others i was informed I would need to send the cooler back and then a refund would be processed. They did send me a link to a pre-paid mailing label…. yaay. Was not happy with that so i kindly asked why I had to wait probably 3+ weeks for a cooler to land back in Fife GB before a refund or replacement was going to get issued. Was informed after a few minutes that my refund can be processed now, so I can repurchase the item :)

I then asked how i can reorder the same product for $445, as it was showing as more expensive now on Amazon. The amazon agent informed me its due to no longer being for sale or in stock on Amazon UK at that original price. Had a little grumble and within a minute they had authorisation to send me the item from Amazon US with a refund for the price difference ($100 since the US site lists the 3800x at $540AUD). I had to order at full price $540AUD, but as soon as it ships I am apparently getting credited back the difference.

I am a Prime member so not sure if that had any baring on the way the conversation went and the outcome i got. Good luck!

    • Hey mate, thanks for this. Originally they wanted to ship the cooler back before refund but now they processed the refund right away.

I enquired about refund for the price difference but the rep is saying this isn't within policy. I advised others have received an option to purchase and then a refund for the difference will occur but they want a screenshot/transcript before they allow it.

Any chance you could drop your transcript or just a screenshot of the confirmation of this option - would be incredibly appreciated!

      • +1

can you pop me a private message with your contact details and ill send you what i have (i don't really have any chat transcript as i contacted them over the phone)

        • Thank you - sent

    • Did you order your CPU on the same day(night) the deal was posted?
The next day I was considering to buy second one when I noticed there was new 3rd party seller with no reviews selling same cpu for similar price on Amazon UK.

      • Mine was purchased the following morning 08/07 at around 7am. Order says seller is Amazon UK

        • Then it was probably stolen in transit.

            • @KS808: Yeah, looks like same batch of parcels travelling together. Only in Sydney my package was cleared 6 mins later

    • -

  • Amazon seems to be handling it okay, but definitely going to make sure I record video when the DHL truck arrives and open it on the spot. Just in case.

  • Arrived today, box had a small rip near the label on top and didn't think much of it. Then I checked this thread and panicked.

AMD label looked untouched and CPU is there. I don't think it would have been swapped for a fake one?

  • +1

To those worried about fakes… Not much to worry about provided that the serial number on the factory seal (of the retail box) matches that printed on the IHS (the CPU itself).

  • +1

I just received mine, amazon box was bit chewed up, but retail box is ok and sealed.
CPU is inside with matching s/n.

    I'm lucky I guess.

  • Mine coming tomorrow, looks like it's been in delivery facility since Sunday in Sydney.

Mine was shipped from Poland through Germany so different from the above stolen ones. Did anyone else have theirs shipped from Poland? Purchased from amazon uk on the 8th in the arvo.

Bit worried! All my other parts coming tomorrow as well so will be annoying not being able to build it this weekend.

    • +1

Also ordered mine on the 8th, it's also coming from Poland via Germany. Should get it in next day or two, showing as in Melbourne right now.

EDIT: I chose priority shipping which was au$35.

    • +1

Ordered mine on the 8th also and it came from Poland through Germany. Still waiting for delivery though, they're estimate is this Friday. Arrived at Brisbane yesterday apparently. Fingers crossed it's in there when I open it.

  • Delay with mine. Currently stuck in Netherlands. Also shipped on 8/7. I'm based in Perth.

    Was originally eta 20/7.

  • fk also happened to my order!! CPU box seems to be damaged and CPU is missing..is this the biggest heist of AMD cpus or wat..

    • Sorry to hear that.

These AMD cpus are hot stuff now, everybody wants one.
Amazon will have to transport them in armoured vans with 3 guys and a shotgun :).

  • For those with missing CPUs, where did your package originate from?

    • MAIDSTONE - UK to London Heathrow, to Brisbane, to Sydney and then back to Brisbane for delivery

  • My CPU still has not been shipped, anyone else on the same page?

    • +1

same here. i chatted last week with a rep and they said it would be shipped this week.

i bloody hope they get to the bottom of this before they ship mine!

      • I was just chatting to an amazon rep. He gave me a 15 dollar voucher for my next Amazon AU purchase for the inconvenience. Was also informed that Amazon UK stock has not been updated this week and may take another week for them to receive stock. Likewise, praying that we don't join the AMD get robbed gang.

        • you are lucky to receive 15 dollar voucher. i talked to them about my order, they just told me to wait and no gift voucher.

    • Same… they said mine will be shipped this week and arrive on 21st… but… worried.

  • +2

Six victims so far, mine came from Maidstone Rochester UK.

    ymcool
    Voucherd
    KS808
    Boba
    monzablau16v
    hogpig

The whole returns process doesn't make sense. I'm an Amazon Prime member, they didn't offer prepaid postage. Said that I had to send it, show them the postage invoice, and then they'll refund the return postage.

I sent the cooler back today via DHL today (hope it makes it back!). $110… that's more than the cooler itself, so I hope Amazon is true to their word and refunds that cost.

I was really reluctant to send it back at $110 but after driving 40 minutes to the courier, I didn't want to go back home without having sent it off.

I don't know what to do now. I've got all the other components ready to go, no way to confirm whether they arrived in working condition, and I don't want to wait til early August for another CPU.

    • If mine is missing I plan to buy a 3700x direct from a store and never purchase components from Amazon again.

      • I think it’s just a case of bad luck. All my other components came in fine, and I ended up purchasing another CPU from Amazon AU expedited delivery.

(Going to avoid Amazon UK for high value items though.)

Amazon quite promptly issued a refund for the return postage so that bit is all good.

    • So sorry to hear that some of you are having issues with your purchase.

I was really tempted to pull the trigger but weighed up the potential hassle of having to return it at a later date when I finally complete the component set with a motherboard (been out of stock for months now) and find that it's faulty. This situation sounds even worse.

Hope that Amazon looks after those affected.

  • +1

Im still waiting for mine, there is a slight delay in Netherlrands. Wonder when will it come (or not come, i.e. stolen CPU).

    I did find this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ask/questions/Tx9O1T368VPQYD/ref=as…

Interesting how its the exact same MO.

edited: oh forgot to mention, mine also originated from Maidstone Rochester UK.

  • ordered 7 July, and my last update:

    Thursday

    09.07.2020
09:37 Local time | Departed Facility in LONDON-HEATHROW - UK
    LONDON-HEATHROW - UK

Also originated from maidstone. Estimated delivery date is still 20/7.

Now I see all this drama about nicked CPUs - wonder if mine is a different delivery tranche altogether. Here's hopin'.

  • Just got mine delivered, came via Poland/Germany.

Ordered 2, and both CPUs were there. Delivery box damaged a bit, they weren't packaged properly - just the 2 CPU boxes in a larger box so they could slide around a lot.

2004 SUS and 2006 SUS, so both made in China.

    Here's hoping they both work.

  • +1

Just got mine delivered too, from Poland via Netherlands.
Delivery box was in good shape, retail box sealed, CPU inside.

    2006SUS

  • +1

Mine was delivered today from Poland/Germany, Amazon box trashed but AMD box alright with CPU & cooler inside.
    1938SUT.

  • +2

Just got mine delivered to Perth, WA. CPU intact! 2006SUS

  • I got mine today as well to Adelaide SA. Came from the same place as those that were stolen but both the CPU and Cooler are here. Weird. BF 2004SUS

  • +2

well I wasn't expecting much out of my chip being a 1938SUT.
but i ended up getting 4.5Ghz @ 1.35v overclock on mine.
    70c with a EVGA CLC240 AIO 4x120mm Push/Pull Fans.
    pretty happy with that!

    • Mine just arrived, same model… hoping mine can boost decently though im on a cheap x370 + noctua nh15…

      • Any updates how your set up is going?

        Im currently on a 1700, ASRock x370 taichi, nh-d15se and 2x8gb cl14 flare x.

Looking to upgrade my CPU to a 3700x-3900x

  • Arrived, BF 2004SUS. CPU in the box, origin Poland through Germany to Sydney.

  • 1938SUT - ordered without priority… dissapointed i didnt get a 2020 one, wonder whether it makes a difference

    • It does. new production models have better overclockability as tested by gamersnexus.
      More clocks/less voltage required.
Don't know why someone neg your post, but I have positive it to make it even.

  • My build as a result of this awesome buy:

    AMD 3800X @ 4.5Ghz 1.4v (stable)
    MSI X570 Tomahawk
    16GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo
    GTX970 Strix (awaiting Navi 2.0)

    compared to my old system:

    Xeon X5675 @ 4.7Ghz
    Asus P6T Deluxe
    12GB Kingston Hyper X T1
    GTX 970 Stix

    new vs old

    GTA V - 110fps vs 65fps (same settings)
The Division - 114fps vs 80fps (same settings)

thats all I've tested so far. Didn't think by old X5675 was holding back so much but yeh, 2011 vs 2019.
I think this system will hold me for another 12 years once I get a new GPU.
