Apologies if this has been posted before, I searched and couldn’t find it. I received an email at a free account advertising their new Premium Duo service, which gives you two Premium accounts for people who live at the same address for $15.99/mo. Not the same value as a Family account but a bit of a savings for households who are a couple only.

You get one month free when you upgrade an account that hasn’t had Premium previously. Link to T&Cs.

Edit: as this is only offering 1 month I expect it will be long-running. They may throw out the usual 3 months free at some stage.

      At signup they ask you for your home address, I'm not sure if location tracking then helps with that

      They're depending on honesty, I guess, because it would be dead easy to get through the signup process and put any old address. You could argue the same for the Family account - how do you prove everyone logging into the account is part of the same family group? At the end of the day Spotify probably doesn't care, they're still getting money out of you, and the spread between Single-Duo-Family isn't all that great anyway.

      i'm assuming its the same process as the family plan, they just ask for the address upon sign up, that's all.
      i've got 5 other people using my family plan all at the "same address"

        Same here. You get the default option which is to use GPS to determine your location. Just skip that step, don't allow location services and manually enter the address. Done.

    Still way cheaper to use a VPN to get Philippines family pricing.

    But still good to see Spotify catering to people without kids.

      Do you just need to use a Phillipines server to sign up, or will you get geo-blocked using the account in Oz?

      Log back into Philippines every 13 days? I just signed up to a Philippines PayPal and tried to join a family plan, showing 194 PH pesos, but when I click to payment method, it reverted back to AUD. Using Express VPN. Was gonna cancel it and refund after 30 days.

      Has anyone had any luck in recent times on how to sign up to PH Spotify?

      And also a free VPN to log in every 13 days if I can successfully sign up?

        Ok my bad, my Spotify country was set to Australia. Derp.

        So it shows up in the correct currency now, but when I click pay by PayPal and log in with my new PH PayPal account, it shows "We’re sorry. We weren’t able to complete your payment or set up pre-approved payments. Please try again later. Please return to the merchant and choose another way to pay."

        If log in with my Australian PayPal, it doesn't show this message and logs in. But I can't pay obviously and shows wrong country message. Anyone who has done it successfully care to chime in?
