Please familiarise yourself with Amazon's cashback terms here, and the full list of cashback/eligibilty rates here.

$5 Bonus Terms:

  • To be eligible for the AUD $5 bonus, you must first activate the promotion via the link in this post, then shop as normal via Amazon Australia on Cashrewards.
  • Transaction must be made between 10:00AM AEST 08/07/20 and 11:59PM AEST 08/07/20.
  • $5 bonus is eligible when making a qualifying Amazon Australia purchase of AUD $50 or more in one transaction (inclusive of GST, after any discounts, and before shipping).
  • $5 bonus is ineligible when purchasing from categories listed at 0% cashback.
  • $5 bonus will not be added to your Cashrewards account at time of purchase. It will be credited separately as approved by 19/09/2020.
  • $5 bonus is over and above the advertised Amazon Australia cashback rates which still apply to the transaction.
  • Transaction is valid if made online via desktop browser, Cashrewards Notifier, Cashrewards App, or mobile browser.
  • Sales may report to Cashrewards ex GST so the amount shown in your account may be less than $50. You will still be eligible for the bonus.
  • Amazon Australia reports orders with multiple items as individual transactions into your Cashrewards account. These are still eligible.
  • $5 bonus is ineligible on purchase of vouchers, gift cards, kindle unlimited, audible, mobile apps, subscribe & save items, prime subscriptions, and all categories/products listed at 0% cashback.
  • $5 bonus is ineligible if an order is cancelled, changed, returned, rejected.
  • $5 bonus is limited to one per Cashrewards account. Separate transactions do not qualify for additional bonuses.
  • Fraudulent activity will result in rewards being forfeited and accounts closed.

Purchases paid with gift cards are eligible for the bonus. Amazon Australia tracking is not instant - can take up to 4 days to report into your account.

    • so 5% + $5, takes the UK import AMD 3600 down to $226.47?

      • +2

I think of cashbacks etc as a BONUS not really added into the final price.

    • They are refusing cash back my purchase saying it falls under home entertainment . While this used to fall under electronics while cash back was 0% now they saying it falls under home entertainment . However you can still find this product under electronics. Have enquired with Cashrewards, it’s amazon playing up as far as I know

  • I knew that I should have waited a few days!

    Thanks TA.

  • Thanks TA.
    More incentive to spend.

Is purchasing items on Amazon AU but sold by Amazon US (US import) still eligible for the normal cashback and today's bonus cashback? Thanks.

    • +5

Yes… The critical thing to remember here is that you must click out to the item from Amazon Australia on Cashrewards and purchase . DO NOT link directly to the US store or you will be ineligible. It makes no difference where the item is shipped from provided the order was placed on Amazon Australia. Hope this helps. Thank you.

    • +2

Confirmed - bought some boots from US Amazon, via AU Amazon. Got cashback.

  • +12

Anddddd what about the items shipped by Amazon Uk sold on Amazon AU as per the deals we've seen in the last day or so?

How about if we pay with Amazon credit are we still eligible? I have a $3 credit on my account?

    • Would like to know too

    • +1

The terms picture in the description says…

Purchases paid with gift cards are eligible for cashback

      • It is not a gift card. Anyway placed my order and decided not to risk it.

        • +6

Hi nubzy. Please note that you need to meet the $50 min spend requirement after the application of any Amazon credits, as per the terms:

When using a valid coupon code or Amazon credit (applicable only on items sold by Amazon AU), cashback is calculated on the net amount after the value of the coupon code or credit has been deducted.

      • +1

So hang on, that's just for the cashback. But for the $5 bonus, I'd be eligible so long as the transaction is > $50 and there isn't $0 actual cashback you can still pay using promo code and credit and qualify, right?

        • +4

No. Because the total that Amazon reports to us will be less any Amazon credit applied. If you buy a product for $60 and use $20 Amazon credit, the sale reports as $40. That's all we have to go on with respect your bonus payment, so please ensure you spend $50 or more after any credits.

          • +1

@tightarse: Awesome. Thanks for the quick reply!

  • +8

Video games are still a 0% category and so ineligible. Bummer :(

    • Was going to pick up the new paper mario until I realised it was ineligible

    • +1

Thanks for saving me time messing about (and money).

  • What about Pre-orders? I have some books I want but aren't released till late August.

    • Have to be scheduled to ship within 60 days.

      • Thanks, I just read the terms. Probably should have done that first but I'm lazy.

  • +1

Do me a favor TA tell those Amazon movers that they are missing huge turnover with no toys in . Its not just me the cheapest price most of the time is other retailers with codes/gift cards and its about time Amazon decide to compete again !

On the Amazon gift card front I have 2 discount retailers that have limits of $500 and 1k monthly and vs others gift card companies offrring is really pathetic lol .

  • Can we purchase with gift cards?

  • -1

Can I pay with Amazon gift card ?

  • Looking to buy something Ships from and sold by Amazon US.. looking at amazon.au link . will cashback and bonus still be eligible??

In Victoria time to buy some more toilet paper!!

    • Why, have you all got the runs?

    • Dont think TP is covered under cashbacks. Better raid your local colesworth.

  • +2

Just be aware of Subscribe and Save is also excluded

So this offer might not worth for groceries (S&S got 10% discount)

    • ya this has always been the case. S&S never gets tracked.

  • Bought the TICKR Heart Rate Monitor. New model and you rarely get discounts on it.

  • Is computer part of electronics or not?

    • +4

Computers are part of the PC category which happens to be the same rate as Electronics (5%).

      • +2

Excellent deal TA, as others have noted I just find it sometimes hard to understand whether something is included or not. Which category, for example, does a memory card that can be used in a phone, pc, or camera fall under. Is it Camera (0%) or Mobile phones & accessories (0%) or PC….. If you look at the Amazon website and go into the Electronics (5%) category you'll see sub categories of Camera & Photo (Camera is 0%, no idea what Photo might be) as well as PC & Video games (0%).

Currently I'd like to get a NVMe adapter and NMVe card to upgrade the storage in a 2017 Macbook Air. These seem to fall under Computers so in this case it's ok, but just saying it can be a bit confusing. Not sure what can be done about it, just saying I long for the good old days when there was some minimum amount over all of Amazon…. ;-)

        • Keen to know what you did here as I have a MacBook Air mid 2012 build which needs an he'd upgrade as well

          • @Strikingviking: Bought an adapter, and will get a local ssd, possibly taking advantage of the current cash back on Samsung drives….

      • They are refusing cash back my purchase saying it falls under home entertainment . While this used to fall under electronics while cash back was 0%. now they are saying it falls under home entertainment . However you can still find this product under electronics. Have enquired with Cashrewards, it’s amazon playing up as far as I know so we need to be careful on big purchases as cash back might be declined.

    • Its own area under PC

  • If I buy a combination of eligible and non-eligible products in the one order does it still qualify as long as I have $50 of eligible included?

    • +2

Yes, provided the total amount of the eligible items is $50 or more.

      • Great, thanks!

  • thanks now i need suggestion for around $30 item

  • If I pay with Zip will the cashback work?

    • +1

      Yep, Zip is fine :)

  • +4

Generous cash back offer. Though it's so difficult to navigate Amazon cb these days as to which category is eligible and which one isn't (eligible category list is changing so frequently).
I am assuming that if an Amazon US order (via Amazon AU) has items from several different categories, then we will still get bonus CB if order $ from eligible categories is $50 or above.

    • +3

Hi bajirao. I understand your frustration, but this is now the norm. We have no say on the categories and can only do as Amazon tells us. Rates and categories will change frequently going forward so it's vitally important you always check the Amazon page on Cashrewards prior to purchase:

Check cashback rates prior to purchase, as categories can & will change regularly without notice.

As to your second statement, provided the total amount of the eligible items is $50 or more you'll be ok for the bonus.

      • +2

Yes I agree it's not your fault but Amazon's for doing so frequent changes. Your offer is quite generous so Thank You for working out this offer.

      • +2

Is it possible to add a feature to the Cashrewards chrome extension that checks whether the item you have opened will be eligible for cashback?

      • +1

I fail to understand why can't Amazon make our life simpler by offering a flat cashback all the time or simplifying their product categorization into fewer buckets just for cashback purpose. Finding the category of a product and then whether it qualifies for cashback or not is actually the most annoying part of using cashback offer. I know it's not the fault of cashback websites though.. hence I hope Amazon changes its strategy soon. At worst, if they at least start mentioning the 'category' of product very clearly on all product pages (thereby not leaving it to customers to navigate this info or guess it), it will work better than current system too.

  • Just confirming Kindle books (electronic books) are 0%? I can see physical books listed as eligible.

    • +1

That's correct. Only physical books are eligible.

  • I wish I waited 2 days before my last purchase, these deals always seem to go past me

    • Mine was literally last night, 11pm

  • $50 is a lot eh…hardly buy anything from Amazon these days I find. Any good bargain deal?

    • Loads of bargains to be found, up to you to search. I get incredible deals off Amazon that B&M stores would never come close to.

    • same here, a lot.. i can get 20 or 30 but 50 is hard

  • Hi TA, are pet products included? I can't seem to see that category.

    • +1

Please see here. Pet products are excluded.

      • +1

if you purchase >$50 of eligible products, and then also tack on an ineligible product (eg pet product) in the same transaction so it gets prime free delivery, will this void the entire CB?

  • Will adding an item from a wishlist (made before clicking CR) to cart after clicking through via CR's link work?

  • +1

$5 bonus is ineligible when purchasing from categories listed at 0% cashback.

too complicated then. too much restriction, just like apple
pass this time. good luck every body and bodies

    • +1

      Buy alcohol, problems solved

  • So if I buy video game, I can't get the cash back?

    • +1

"$5 bonus is ineligible when purchasing from categories listed at 0% cashback."

  • Thanks - got the Knipex Pliers Wrench which is just over 50 bucks from amazon UK (through amazon AU)

  • TA, would this qualify (as long as you buy another eligible item to put it over $50)?:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Isopropyl-Alcohol-Pure-100-Isoprop…

  • +1

What does Laundry products fit under ? 0% ?

  • yeah ..nah…

  • +2

can someone suggestion something practical $50 that everyone can use?

    • Toilet papers?

      • yeah got too many from coles $14 for 46 quilton last week

  • Can someone please clarify? Electronics is 5%, Camera is 0%. So is an item listed in “Electronics›Camera&Photo›Accessories›Tripod&Monopod Accessories” eligible or not? That is, is the higher level category (Electronics) the determinant or the lower level category (Camera)? Thanks.

    • +1

I have a similar problem. I'm wanting to purchase a Green Screen which counts as 'Electronics' but also 'Camera & Photo > Photo Studio Backgrounds'.

Is it 0% ('Camera') or 5% ('Electronics')? As there's no explicit % rules for 'Photo Studio Backgrounds'

      • +1

Same thing with Mobile Phone accessories which are 0% but at Amazon fall under Electronics main category (5%). Have few accessories which i want but this is confusing.
