Probably doesn't need to be said, but avoid the 32gb if you're looking to record in 4k or anything that requires a bit of write speed. You'll want U3 which is 64g + for Samsung EVO's

Was wondering why they're not on Ebay anymore…Probably got kicked off

Shopping Square sold me a "new" hard drive that had someone else's movie collection on it.

I'd read this on how to detect fake SD cards if buying from them:

Lol, was it good stuff? ;)

        • hehe - I didn't watch them much. Mostly a collection of Russian TV and movies, I think.

      • Thanks for this. I bought a 32G Ultra SanDisk Card from Shopping Square Nov last year. It has no serial number on the back, so I guess it is a fake.

    • Excellent, Thanks @freshofftheplane for the link. Was going to purchase a 64, but am staying away from this shop now based on reviews.

  • 128gb please? :)

    Ordered a 64Gb. Worst case I CC-chargeback

Brilliant! I hopped on to OzB just to look for a memory card deal.. Telepathy at its best!

  • Are people actually getting their orders?

    SS are the worst.

    "Was $109", what a bargain!

  • Yeah, wouldn't want to purchase from SS with their dodgy website/cs.

  • 64GB - Does this work on Nintendo Switch?

    • +5

If you are planning for Switch then better go with 128 GB or 200 GB. Some games are huge!

    I'm waiting for 10$ 512Gb one :)

Picked up from Officeworks with their PB. No dramas.

      • Will do the same tomorrow

      • Thank you will try tomorrow

      • What capacity SD did you get them to price beat ? I am looking for them to price beat the 256Gb one.

        • Me too.
Heaps cheaper online. Will they really Price Beat?

          • @ssjmark: https://abr.business.gov.au/ABN/View/11109351877

It's an Australian registered business. They should PB it.

            • @vrsac: Yes, they price beat. I got the 64 gb one, with the adapter.

              • @ForTheGreaterGood: Called them two times and both instances declined price beat as they said no identical product code, only one year warranty stated and one of them even went as far as claiming SS is a marketplace like eBay.

                • @FrugalNotStingy: I called up and price beat the 128gb

                  • @berserkk: Crap! So the outcome really depends on who answers the phone. Is it better to call up in the morning? Both guys who answered my calls had an Indian accent. Not that it matters but maybe they are more strict?

                    • @FrugalNotStingy: Yeah I just called 1300 office or whatever, she seemed aus based
You could prob go in, make sure the two items are the same Eg with our without adapter tell them how to search it in the shopping square website

                      • @berserkk: Called again this afternoon and got through to an Aus based operator. Price beat without issues but needed to add the $1.99 shipping to the price. Still very happy as I know I am getting a genuine Aus stock item and no need to wait weeks for delivery.

              • @ForTheGreaterGood: Strange! Guess I got lucky.. was able to PB once on the phone, and once in person at the North Ryde store (NSW). This was what I bought both times.

                • +1

@ForTheGreaterGood: Went to Officeworks Blacktown. No PB on the 128GB microsd.

                  • @xoom: What was the reason??

                    • +1

@ssjmark: They said there was no product model in the website they can identify that it's the same product.

For those who run Raspberry Pis, Pi 4 now supports boot from USB (SSD) so don't boot from SD card if you don't have to.

    • looking for a neat cable. (short 90deg connectors) or case solution to support this set up. -seen any?

    • Hi Terry that's cool I just picked up the 4 it's my first pi it would be great to have a link to a tutorial on how to do this if you have one. Cheers

      • Was keen to try this on the pi 4 I just got from Amazon. Here's a video from YouTube.

        https://youtu.be/Mq5zBTpGNlE

      • Can't update my post before. Found a better tutorial how to boot pi 4 from usb.

        https://notenoughtech.com/raspberry-pi/how-to-boot-raspberry…

        • Thanks zoom I really appreciate the links. I have set up my pihole but it doesn't seem to be blocking all of the ads so maybe this project might be too advanced for me. Have you set up pihole?

          • @jstar168: That's on my to do list but not yet. Need to change router settings and I'm reluctant in case I break my folks internet link. Will wait till I'm back home to try it on my own internet link.

Though this guys video looks detailed enough that it's easy to follow.
