  • Will it work on road bicycle please

    • +2

Yes. But the gauges on these are often not accurate and on road bikes you want quite an accurate pressure rating. This will work but you're gonna want a separate more accurate pressure gauge.

      • Don't rely on the gauges while it is pumping because you need a higher pressure at the pump to push air into the tyres. There's usually a delta in the pressure (like 10psi over) to get to the ballpark of what the tyre pressure will end up once complete.

I thought these take into account the pressure differential while in use.

But for the OP, just carry a small pencil gauge made by slime. These things are accurate to within 1psi.

It probably depends on the width of your tyre, but 120PSI is hopefully okay for most road bikes.

Hardly any stock in QLD. From Brisbane it shows me the nearest stock is tweed heads.

    • Plenty of stocks in NSW, even regional NSW town in hunter got plenty in stock

    • No stock anywhere near me.

Had one for years actually. I drive on the beach at least once a week and this blows my tyres up to 35psi no worries at all and it should have a little pouch inside the box that has a basketball/football/bike nozzle and a couple of others.
It's not as fast as a Makita air gun obviously but for the price it does the biz. It's not fast and it takes a little while to inflate 4 tyres and it does get very hot so don't try doing more than one car at a time and pick up carefully all you burn a finger or two.

Very happy with mine, it does what I want it too.

    • Yes, always wear gloves when handling these air compressors after use.

  • +3

120psi should be 120psi therefore independent of weight of vehicle.

    • +1

Yes, but a 4WD tyre will take much longer to inflate and this may exceed the duty cycle of the compressor, which may make it get too hot and die an early death. There's no mention of duty cycle on the webpage. For the money, it seems like a decent deal for light usage.

These things never last long as they rely on a reciprocating piston with a seal, but have no internal lubrication. Personally I'd buy a proper air compressor for home use, or a decent brand for 4WDing use, but to each his own.

Like a garden blower where they compare speed [in this instance PSI] what counts is LPM [I cannot see that figure anywhere]

You be better of with this 85LPM and twin cylinder for not much more coin

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/85L-MIN-Car-Air-Compressor-150PS…

Us [ex] BMW owners get a "free" compressor on earlier models, now supplied with anti-christ runflats

Had a good look at the ad it is 20LPM and the one in your in ebay link is 85LPM Twin Cylinder .
85LPM should be heaps better than 20LPM

      • +1

Agreed. 20LPM will inflate but slowly.

After watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toOyJptLshc I paid a little more and went for the XTM which does 160LPM for $99.

        • +1

          Hi Mate
your comment Prompted me to explore further and bought XTM from Super cheap Auto. I use the compressor to Pump Up my Hilux A/T Tyres, more LPM the quicker i can pump up tyres after a beach drive.
this XTM is pretty much same as 4WD Supa Center's Thumper and SCA Ridge Ryder
XTM is value for money and if i have an issue with it i can walk in to an SCA and get it replaced. That was the reasoning behind not going in to the ebay knockoffs

Thumbs up for your Findings and Thanks for the youtube Video Link

    • Your ebay alternative is sold out now.

      • Plenty others on ebay for around same ask, i would want twin cylinder and 85LPM as a min.

  • Thanks, bought.

  • Could this inflate a blow up kayak or intended for low volume and high pressure applications?

  • can this be used for airbrushing?
