logic dictates they all use about that

the stronger it is the faster it boils?

      • +3

Yep, 2200W is normal for a kettle I thought!

        • ok. no need to neg

pretty bad reviews for this on product review, something to do with lid flying open preventing auto shut off

2200 kilowatts is 2.2 Megawatts. This is roughly the output of 10 V8 engines from the late 90's. At 25c/kWh, it would cost you $27.50 to run for 3 minutes!

…….Yes, obviously it is a typo and it was meant to say 2200 watts.

        • Exactly friend that's (watt) I was referring to. Pardon the pun. Lol

        • I suspect the water may have all boiled off before 3 minutes.

          • @bargainpersona: Indeed a 2200kW kettle would be able to boil 1.7L of water to steam in approximately 0.26 seconds.

      Highly illogical.

  • I just thew out my last Kambrook kettle exactly the same as this one last week, even the same colour. It lasted 15 months before it started leaking. I got one nearly the same [even the old base worked with the new one] from Kmart for $15. My guess is both are cheap arse kettles, just the Kmart one is priced accordingly.

  • I had 2 kettles from Kambrook which stopped working suspiciously not too long after they went out of warranty period.
Never trusted them again after that.

  • I've had this kettle for over 3 years now and still going strong.
