AMD Ryzen 9 3950X $1099 (RRP $1279) + Delivery (Free Pickup) @ PC Byte

210

Another alternative to the recently expired shopping express but $10 more expensive
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/550360

Scorptec/Mwave/Shopping Express $1,219.00
RRP $1,279.00

If you live in Sydney might be worthwhile pickup as it's inner west brick & mortar.

Warning: Please do note that they do have history of showing items as In stock so perhaps call them first, please let me know if they suddenly "run out"

The description on the shopping express deal is so good so I am just pointing y'all to read it :)

My first post but long time lurker, apologies if I missed some protocol/obvious stuff.

Don't forget the extra Assasin's Creed Valhalla

Good deal - bought one the other day from mwave at $1219 after missing out on the ShoppingExpress one.

Suggest pickup like OP said, but also an over the counter order. I did pickup with mwave as all items < 24 hour processing, but that's already well and truly passed (some people quoting weeks for in stock items).

So you could find yourself stuck like me - can't cancel without restocking or losing credit card fees, otherwise I'd walk straight into another store and buy over the counter. I'll just have to wait

  • Guys any CPU recommendation for cad rendering?

    • +3

This one, unless you want to pay a ton more for the threadrippers. These things kick for apps taking advantage of multiple cores/threads, like lumion will. You'll see a lot of the benchmark tests show excellent performance in Blender.

      • thanks!

  • I was going to buy this until I saw it is from PCByte :(

  • May I ask why does someone need a $1,000 CPU?

    • +1

Not needed, but time is money and if it gets the job done faster…
…then you can't charge as much.

      • +2

Life is sort and time is precious. Enjoy it when you can. We often waste our limited and precious time away but yet stingy on our money.

    • I don't understand the question, you're saving $180

    • +1

Same question with everything? Why need a $1m car, house,….

    • +1

Because some of us use our computers to generate income and a $1,000 CPU can help to do that quicker and more efficiently.

This is not a CPU intended solely for gaming. It’s intended to be an entry level workstation CPU.

      • I'd even say it's an unwise choice if just for gaming. Plenty of cheaper CPUs with similar or superior single threaded performance.

  • It's now up to $1149.00 - expiring this
