      • well at least I could borrow some of my kiwi friend's passport :) hope they wouldn't notice me with wigs and big glasses :p lol

        • LOL…..I'm practicing on my NZ accent now.

  • Sorry - i know it's not open to Australia passport holders.

Please don't flood me with negatives for this -

Only posted it - in the case that there might be some Inlanders

out there in "ozbargain" land - who might like this deal.

If you were from one of the above nationality, would be a great saving.

Would be a good cheap night out for the family. Tickets are normally $20 per adult/$10 per kid…so would be a big savings if all the kids/parents etc went

    Here's the press release

The Mitsubishi Electric Bulldogs will throw open the gates to anyone with a New Zealand, Samoan, Tongan or Fijian passport by offering them free entry to Saturday night’s 7.30pm clash with the New Zealand Warriors at ANZ Stadium.

The initiative has been prompted by discussions between Chief Executive Officer Mr Todd Greenberg with star second rower Sonny Bill Williams who expressed a desire to see the Club join him in becoming a leader in its relations of people from New Zealand, Samoan, Tongan or Fijian back grounds.

“As most people are aware Sonny Bill has some strong thoughts on the need to look at fresh ways to recognise the involvement of the various communities in our game and on Saturday night we’ll be starting that process,” Mr Greenberg said.

“Our match against the New Zealand Warriors seems the right time to take this first small step and celebrate the important role played by Pacific Island and Maori players and their families in our Club across all levels.

“We’ll be offering free entry to anyone who arrives at our game with a New Zealand, Samoan, Tongan or Fijian passport in hand and we think they’ll have a great night.”

Williams says he expects plenty of people from those communities to make the most of the opportunity.

“It’s a terrific thing for the Club to do and I know it will be appreciated by so many people,” Williams said.

“Going to the footy is a great night out for the family and I’d like to encourage as many people as possible to take up the offer.”

Passports will need to be shown at Gate B of ANZ Stadium for entry.

  • I wonder,,, could this be something like the famous FBI sting from some years back… The FBI sent out invitations to some of the U.S.A.'s "most wanted", to receive a "free prize" at a gala function. Once they where happy that a significant number of "guests" had indeed arrived, they shut the doors and loaded them all into a van headed for a federal pen'.
Nah,,, just my imagination running wild! I suppose the Doggies could change their mascot for the one game,,, to a sheep.

    Cheers,
    Luv Ling und Presper.

    • That was so funny!!!

There was talk recently in the papers about Australia invading NZ (after some mock ads were on the ABC show - Gruen Transfer) and one NZ general from the NZ army jokingly replied that NZ had already secretly positioned a "sizable front-position invasion force" around Bondi. Thought that was so funny also.

      • Yeah, saw The Gruen Transfer ep' but not he NZ army come-back.
Also a sizeable "sleeper" force strategically positioned in Logan City - between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

        Cheers,
Live Long and Guard The Sheep.

  • LOL….
I found the original quote via google..

Phil Goff, the New Zealand Defence Minister, told reporters: "We created a beachhead [on Bondi Beach] years ago, and they have yet to recapture it."

  • Awesome!
