Does this add-on allow the Chinese government to spy on me?

    • +1

Download addon, in a virtual machine if you're very worried, use the coupon, and uninstall the addon. No way in hell I'd keep anything bar the most critical add-ons installed.

      Also use a new/junk account.

      • +1

Easier just to make a new chrome profile which you delete afterwards

      • That is an extraordinary amount of work for $3.

        • Haha yep, I'm with you on that. I wouldn't bother myself.

      • +1

Once you remove the add-on from the browser, can it do any harm? Do you need to do anything else?

    • No, you already have a phone for that.

    • +2

You can check. If the coupon won't let you buy Winnie The Pooh, then, the answer is a resounding yes.

  • Damn, i got the 300 points, but it only show me the option to get a US $1 coupon

    • +4

Click on Redeem for Coupon and you can then change it to USD $3

Thanks, ordered Xiaomi Nail Clipper for $1.xx.

I ordered from Aliexpress last time with a new user coupon and for some reason they cancelled the order said "due to account security concerns" and I can't use it again. Don't know why I have no problem with another order with the same card may be they don't want to give me the new user coupon discount.

    • It's because your credit card is linked to another account.

      • It's because your credit card is linked to another account.

But I never save my credit card.

        • You might not save it for reuse in new orders. This doesn't mean that Ali doesn't save it for their own purposes.

          • @CacheHunter:

This doesn't mean that Ali doesn't save it for their own purposes.

No idea suppose they shouldn't save any payment details if I untick it, anyway it is a debit card with not much $$ in it.

Anyway this time works processing order

    • Hey there, can you link me this nail clipper?

      • +2

I bought from this store but their price seems everytime not the same even with incognito tab.

Anyway search for Xiamoi Nail Clipper you will see a few there.

Pretty shifty hahaha, my normal browser displayed USD $9.22, whereas incognito displayed USD $3.38.

        • It says 24c for me. I can get a 2 or 3 pack of these from Shiploads in Tassie for $2. Different brand but same type of clipper.

    • Use VPN when you create/ use a second account, also clear cookies, use incognito mode or use a different device. I have used the same credit card on two accounts and it has worked.

      • I've tried this in the past and It stopped working for me after the 5th account iirc

    • Finally arrived.

Thanks, ordered Xiaomi Nail Clipper for $1.xx.

  • Thanks it worked.

  • Hmmm, I'm trying to find a link from aliexpress to that chome addon page, but I can't.

Seems very odd, its a new addon, the developer is [email protected], gmail, really?

I realise the quality of the Aliexperss developers is questionable (Aliexpress it looks like a scammy site from the 200s with all the blinking images, in page popups) but this addon does seem a bit odd.

    • +1

but this addon does seem a bit odd.

That is why I did it with my DIY chromebook with nothing on it.

      • Except it has full access to your aliexperss account, which has some level of prviate information if its not a new/blank account

        • If really not that safe, shouldn't allow to post deal here.

    • no link to any official Aliexpress page with details about extension either. Few other third party ones available…

      • Yeah, I tried digging through the soruce code but its minimised/obfuscated.

The feedback link is the only link back to an aliexperss domain, although according to aliexperss, 'AliExpress Assistant' is a completely different tool aimed at sellers, and is not a browser extension

        • It wouldn't give people the coupon if it was a scam right?

          • @videoman: It could be using an existing freely available coupon.

Do you want install my addon? It'll give you some great Hungry Jacks coupons, they're guarenteed to work!

        • thanks, didn't get the description of the add-on for some reason.

        • Good find!

I like how they refuse to link to the Chrome extension page or provide a screenshot

    • It's fine. Head to https://points.aliexpress.com/cashback/home.htm#/helpcenter which I assume is official AliExpress?

  • I redeemed the points for a $3 coupon but it is not showing up in Coupon Centre! Can someone help?

    • You redeemed from 300 point to US$3 already?

Go to checkout it will reduce the total amount

      • Won't apply to my cart either… Says "No coupon"

Now saying "2020-07-15 05:41:27 Reward Points received : Reward Points used 300" but I dindu nuffin

        • Are you sure you are buying a item worth $3 USD (not including postage)?

        • apparently it's not for every item on the site, or is it?

        • Got my coupon now. Guess it just took some time.$3.01 Min Spend

  • Thanks! got $3 USD to spend

  • FYI There is a minimum spend of $3USD to use this

  • for some reason i doubt my 4 in 1 usb charger will ever arrive that i bought for $1.. lol

  • yey got it

  • is it not working anymore or am i doing something wrong,if i enter 3, it says not enough points in the reward points redemption screen and redeem button is greyed out. IDK how to proceed

    • re-installing it fixed my issue

  • Success.

  • I just redeemed my 300 points for 3USD, which converted to a coupon worth $4.35 off an order. Looks like this coupon is only valid for a month, starting from the date the coupon was generated.

  • Is it New chinese spyware ???

  • Items taking 3 months now to arrive. No planes flying.

    • It's a crapshoot to some extent. I ordered 3 items in May and they came in reverse order. The one from early May took 70 days. An item ordered in late May took about 28 days or so. Both were small items too that fit into the mailbox slot.

      • Tracking shows longest delay for my items is after arrival in Australia. Possibly port clearance issues.

    • I'm finding 3 weeks to 3 months, rather than the usual 2 weeks to 2 months. Not that different. I'm at 750 orders so I've got a fairly good experience base to compare it to. It's kind of weird though, I ordered 11 items on May 18th and only 4 have arrived yet, yet I ordered 5 items on the 20th of May and all have arrived. China is always hit and miss though on time frames.

  • Can someone recommend a good displayport cable / good seller? Only one I'm familiar with is Ugreen

    • Stick to a name brand like ugreen and you should be fine, it's just a cable.

  • clicking assistant icon do nothing. tried uninstall and reinstall still same problem.

When i right click on the icon, there is a part that say "Can't read or change site's data"

    any idea why?

    • Have you tried restarting Chrome? That did it for me.

      • thanks. restarting chrome did it!

    • Part of the instructions say follow the prompts. That's when you know the extension has worked. So, you need to login to aliexpress, click the puzzle piece to open up extensions, then click on Aliexpress Assistant. The icon changes and it should open the prompts.

  • Anyone recommend some good cases/screen protectors on ali?

Looking for something for my Oppo A52 if anyone has picked up something for it.

  • Thank you! Used it to get an Apple Watch band.

FYI points expire on 1/4/2021 (the example doesn't make sense to me though!)

Q: What is the validity period for Reward Points? Will the points expire?
A: The validity period for Reward Points is determined by the date that the user receives the Reward Points. Reward Points received in the current calendar year will expire on April 1st in the following year (US West Coast Time).

  • Was able to use the coupon on 2 accounts

    • how did you get it to work on second account?

      • uninstalled the extension and then followed OP steps again with the second account.

  • doesn't seem to be working for me.. can anyone confirm it's still active?

    • It's still working, try clearing browser history/cookies and reinstall add-on.

    Redeemed

But this is really 2.70usd off minimum of 3.01usd. Because the GST tacks on when you add 3.01usd to add cart.

  • Can you earn points with cashback?

  • Thanks purchased a water resistant jumpsuit for my little kid and the coupon covered the gst tax.

  • Is this still working for people, tried it twice with no luck…

  • If things go wrong there is no way to contact AliExpress. Seller issued me with a refund but AliExpress ended up keeping the money. You'll be greeted with a mindless robot if you try to contact them.
