Combine with suncorp(other gift cards) to get additional discount . Costed me $281 after discount so sounded like a nice deal to me . I know it’s not everyone cup of tea and I am aware of all those wireless cameras around ..but I prefer the corded one as it saves hassle of charging the battery and more reliable .

      Nope… BNC/power cable

    • Looks like the good guys one comes with 4 spot light cameras

I'm clueless about security systems. How would you install this? Like what other equipment do you need (I'm assuming a hard drive for storage, Internet connection, drill to attach it to the wall, etc)?

    • -3

an electrician is needed to install this as it involves wiring through the walls.

      • Really?

        • Legally yes.

We have pretty strict laws around cabling (data and power) inside walls.

If you are a little handy you can do it yourself.

      Drill
      Internet connection
Storage is already on the DVR
Little bit of technical knowledge with the router so that you can use an app to view remotely
Also I don't know the name but there is something you can buy at Bunnings to get the cables through the wall cavity.
      Lastly patience!

      • Appreciate the reply but I'm no handy at all and have no knowledge about wiring, etc. Might have to skip this.

  • If you want a simple installation wifi camera for $77 with 4MP (2K) quality, I highly recommend Reolink 410w. Bought it the other day and very impressed with the quality. Just need a power outlet to power the camera and it will connect to your wifi. I installed 64GB to record motion detection and it records 24/7 to my NAS through FTP or Synology surveillance app. It also integrates with Google Home.

    • Do you need to do any wiring and how does it charge?

      • "Just need a power outlet to power the camera"

      • This is not battery powered, you need to have power outlet for the camera, but no need to use ethernet cable as it has dual band wifi. If you need battery powered, look for the Reolink Eco or Argus 2
model with solar panel which will cost around $127~$172, but this does not give you the option to record continuously.

  • I've never had much luck with cheap Swann kits, work fine for the first couple of years but go down hill quick.
Support is usually next to no help and have found the software is junk on the DVRs (no clue about NVRs)
Have started buying Annke kits for less than this and have had no problems (so far!)

    • My Swann NVR set died after 13 months of use. $800 plus $300 installation down the drain.

      • Bugger, by the sounds of it NVRs are just as bad!

  • Really easy to install , basic tools , yellow tounge , and some patience, much easier with two people
