Good evening fellow ozbargainers, thought I'd give something back to the community with my first post.

Historic low price for these excellent IEMs. Local price is $299.

A budget audiophile favourite, the only possible competitor would be Moondrop Starfields at $170~ish. That being said the comfort on these may not be for everyone as these require to be inserted fairly deep into your ears.

Don't forget cashback! :)

Have a soft spot for etymotics. Had the er6i over a decade ago and they were absolutely stellar. They just had really weak cables at the ends.

    • Yep, truly stunning earphones.

Haha I came here to say this is a name I haven't heard in a long time! Also had er6i.

  • The ER3XR where $168 a few days ago, price has since gone up though.

    • Absolutely love my ER3-XR. Had a number of etymotics over the years.

  • Would this be better than the Moondrop Startield given that it’s more expensive? Looking to get a budget IEM and not sure which one is better :)

Starfield is more expensive actually, both are really good IEMs, Etymotic is a BA driver while Starfield is a DD. For the money you can't go wrong with either, a good IEM reviewer I like is Crinacle who has reviews for both of these.

It comes down to personal preference, for some ER2, inserts too deep and may be uncomfortable, for some it's an amazing seal. Also heard some horror stories with the ER2, where someone took them out of this ear too fast and without breaking the seal and the vacuum effect messed up his ear drums, but I think that's a fringe scenario that is very unlikely to happen, but I would make sure you break the seal before taking them out anyways to avoid this.

You can read these and decide for yourself which is better depending on what sound signature you prefer. Either one is a really good choice. Also Starfields typically go on sale a little bit during some of the Aliexpress sales, and you can stack coupons on top, or also Shenzhenaudio is another good vendor for Starfields because they have a rewards system so you can get some off your order as well.
