Not sure when deal started, but been looking up electric toothbrush prices since my oral-b vitality's battery started to die.

Excellent price for a pro 2000 with travel case.

Same product on amazon is $99.

Specs

  • The built-in timer helps you brush for at least 2 minutes, the minimum brushing time dentists and hygienists recommend.

  • Pressure Control reduces brushing speed and alerts you if you're brushing too hard.

  • The Oral-B PRO 2 2000 has a state-of-the-art, lithium-ion battery that lasts more than 2 weeks. This way, you won't need to worry about bringing your charger during your holidays.

  • Pulsations 45,000

How to get welcome code?
Open shavershop in incognito on desktop, and you'll get a pop up to sign up for $10 off

    • Yes and you're right. I just dry it when I dry my face with a towel after, habit kicks in after a bit.

  • +1

    Ordered one, thanks OP.
Been using a cheapo $20 Oral B one from Woolies that dies after 30s of use

  • there's a much better cheaper toothbrush on aliexpress called the "oclean x pro" same price… or cheaper depending on seller and it has a touch screen and all sorts of features.

Just saying for anyone who wants to look into it, im not going to link it or anything because people get antsy when they see links thinking they're referrals etc.

    • +1

aliexpress is next to useless now due to how long it takes for stuff to arrive. I'm not going to bother waiting several months for an item to arrive.
I bought something in June and tracking says it still hasn't even left China. Stuff that.

      • its just like eBay… if you've got a poor seller report them…
I shop on aliexpress all the time, sometimes yeah the shippings a bit long but most of the time stuff arrives for me reasonably quickly, just depends on the seller really.

also they're usually upfront about processing and shipping times if it says 5 days processing, then you know they aren't going to send it 5 seconds after your payment.

        • so you still get your stuff in reasonable amount of time even now?
The delay has nothing to do with the seller, it's due to COVID and there is nothing the seller can do once it leaves their hands.

          • @keejoonc: Yes, that is correct I literally ordered something 2 weeks ago and it was here last Friday?

            • @rm2kdev: The toothbrush you mentioned is $100 though?
Can't comment on how well it works, but those extra features are all useless gimmicks.

    • Why do you need those features? I need a toothbrush that turns on and has an auto timer. Anything else is a gimmick. Touchscreen on a cheap toothbrush sounds like it's just ready to break.

      • go look at it and decide for yourself :) just pointing it out for anyone who wants a more advanced toothbrush

      • whats the auto timer for? put for 2 minutes and switches off so you know you've brushed your teeth for 2 minutes?

        • +1

You should brush for two minutes, 30 seconds each quadrant. The toothbrush vibrates every 30 seconds, then a longer vibration when 2 mins is up. It stays on, but it's a good indicator when time is up so you don't do too much/little.

  • Interested to get this. Which one is the replacement brush head? Thank you

    • +1

Oral-B Pro 2, 2000 electric rechargeable toothbrush is compatible with the following replacement toothbrush heads: Cross Action, 3D White, Sensitive Clean, Precision Clean, Floss Action, Tri Zone and Gum Care.

      https://www.oralb.com.au/en-au/products/oral-b-pro-2-2000-el…

    • Most oral bs will use the same heads.

All you really need to know is there’s the normal head and then the precision cross action heads and that you should buy the bulk packs from amazon not shaver shop

  • Any major difference between vitality and this other than the battery? Wonder why this specific deal is popular when it's been similar prices previously.

It's definitely way more powerful - I could tell there was a drastic difference going to even the 800. It pulsates as well as oscillates (not entirely sure what that means but supposedly better clean).

It also has a pressure sensor which lights up if you're pressing too heavily.

Up to 2 weeks (~1-1.5 for 800) battery life is great too if you prefer to pack away the charger when not in use rather than constantly charging for the Vitality.

      • +2

Thanks, made the purchase. I'm all for spending an extra $50 on something better that I'll use everyday. My vitality has to be charged everyday and a foul smell is starting to grow at the bottom. I suspect it's because between the bottom and charger it gets wet where mould grows lol

        • Lol that's the exact reason I replaced by Vitality - absolutely disgusting smell and battery could hardly hold 2 mins of brushing.

I'm hoping the longer battery means I don't have to keep it on the base and have all the build up there.

  • Don't forget Shopback. My cashback amount was tracked as pending 5 minutes after purchase

    • do you get cash back with the $10 discount code?

      • +1

I used the $10 off welcome code with Shopback and $1.85 was tracked. So total paid is $67.15

        • +1

Likely will be rejected as you used a code they don’t list.

  • +1

I wonder how long until the battery deteriorates.

My very first one (probably still NiCd) got close to 10 years before it got annoying. The one after that got perhaps 5 years (NiMh). The last couple (also NiMh): got both of them replaced on warranty just before the 2-year warranty ended.

    Planned obsolescence in action. :-(

    • +1

Make sure you buy one with a lithium-ion battery. That's the Pro 2 2000, Smart series or Genius series.

      • In theory that would be true. If I get 500 charges and each lasts 2 weeks, that would be ~ 20 years.

In practice I doubt that, if they had used same quality NiMh as Eneloop I would not notice massive deterioration after 2 years, that's just 100 charges. They use cheap crap batteries on purpose. Saves them 5 cents now in production cost and makes sure people come back soon for a replacement.

        • +1

I've had my Oral B Smartguide toothbrush for about 7 years and the battery is still fine. Shared between my partner and me, we just use separate heads.

  • For those who don't want to fight in line at Aldi for $69.99 next week this will do fine.

    • $69 delivered from Shavershop works out better for me. I wouldn't even know the ALDI I can get this from. And as you said likely having to queue up once I get there.

  • Is battery replacable? I hate having the throw it away every time.

  • Thanks op $69 (welcome code) with free shipping is great price :)

  • +1

Went to order, but at checkout told out of stock. Expired.

    • Could it just be your specific store that is out of stock? I just tried to order one for delivery and it lets me place order

      • +1

Yeah it's weird. I was always trying delivery, but trying again with incognito mode, and it worked fine.

End up ordering twice as 'guest' with different email addresses, worked both times.

I marked as 'expired' but I guess now it is not - do I need to do anything to cancel marking as expired?

    Available on amazon for $79
    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0794P46R8/

  • Does it uses the standard heads compatible with other models?

  • got 1. thank you

  • +1

Curious to hear from anyone who has transitioned from a standard toothbrush to an electric one recently. Have you found it has made any perceivable difference?

    • When I use to have an oral b electric toothbrush many years ago. I found it cleaned better than a manual toothbrush.

    • less plaque.

    • Never gone back to manual after swapping to electric. It just cleans better and reach a lot of tight corners easily. Yes, using it first month was a bit unpleasant because something new but over the time, you'll appreciate it.

  • Got one, looking forward to finally transitioning over from manual.

  • Thanks OP & everybody else for the discussion, got 1.
Not sure if it helps, following may be a close alternative if OOS.

  • Thanks OP, purchased one

  • Shaver Shop appears as out of stock when adding to cart. Amazon still in stock at $79 per CodeXD above.

  • Just received an e-mail confirmation that it has been shipped. That was quick !

  • Does the travel case have room to store a head or just the base?

  • Seems if you do the quick add to cart from the main listing of electric toothbrushes page, you can add the item to your cart and complete checkout.
If you go into the listing, it shows out of stock and you can not add.

So do it from the main page and add to cart from there, then use the welcome $10 during checkout :)

    • +1

Looks like it's back in stock

      • Yep - looks like its available again - wasnt at the time of the above though (unless the page was cached)

  • -5

It's been this price for at least 2 months now at Shaver Shop.

    • +1

should have posted the deal there mate instead of doing dingdong!

      • +2

Incorrect anyway. I was looking on Shaver Shop two days ago and this was still full price.

  • +1

    Back in stock. Nice!

    Picked one up.

  • I needed a new tooth brush. Thank you op !

  • +3

This is the best electric toothbrush and does not have the extra bells and whistles that jack the price up. Never pay full price though, only pay a price like this.

  • No longer available

  • Ordered from Amazon as I couldn't wait for the ALDI sale + driving to ALDI.

  • +2

just received mine just now. Keen to give it a go.

    • wow that was quick. when did you order? i'm still waiting on my email notification advising it's been sent.

      • Bought yesterday morning. Got sms from auspost around 8am today and received it around 1 hour ago. Well left at the doorstep earlier. They did ring the doorbell.

  • I also got it delivered today arvo, after purchasing it yesterday. Was sceptical whether the standard heads would work, and to my surprise they fit in as well. Can't wait to try out!

  • +1

The blue version and pink version (without travel case) are back in stock. Amazon have price matched on the blue

  • Bought this for $50 at Woolworths (half price the $99 retail price) a few weeks ago, though did not come with the travel case.

    • +1

      That's the Oral-b Pro 800, a lesser model.

  • Out of stock for black without travel case???

  • How does this perform again the entry level Oral - b available at ColesWorth

    • +1

      Way better.
Newer battery tech and better RPM.

  • Has anyone who purchased during round two (Monday night after it came back in stock) received a shipping notification yet?

    • +2

      Hasn't shipped yet here either.

      Order Status: Being Processed
      Order Placed: Jul 20, 2020

    • I haven’t got one yet from the first round.. some others have (above) though

      • putting mine to good use already.

    • I have shipping notification that it's with Auspost.

      • They sms you when its coming.

        • No, I received an email from Auspost that they've received shipping information and that its being prepared with a tracking number.

    • +1

Still no update on mine either, I'm worried they're trying to find stock and may cancel my order.

      • +2

        That's my concern too!

        • +1

I'll let you know if I get any updates on my end :)

        • +2

Hey, not sure if you saw the comments below but I just called them to make sure they'd hold my order for me until August (or you can opt for the blue or pink without a case, or a full refund) and they were happy to do so - they just added a note to my order to have it express posted when it's fulfilled

          • +1

            @kicha: I didn't! Thanks for the notification. ☺️

  • Back in stock

    • Got a link? I don't see the black with travel case anymore

  • I got mine and really like it so far, gets my teeth squeaky clean!

Can anyone recommend the cheapest place to get brushes from?

    Cheers

  • Just received mine today, much stronger vibration compared to the Vitality one I had previously.

    • Yeah and has friendly small nudge reminder to swap teeth section too! Very happy with the purchase!

      • coming from manual I am finding the vibration way too strong but I guess I will get used to it.

        • +1

Yes, it will get time to get use to it. But I think if you press twice, it will go into gentle mode, probably good for first timer user.

        • +1

Also worthwhile remember you don't push the brush onto your teeth like with a manual toothbrush, and you don't rub back and forwards.

With electric, move the brush gently over your tooth, pausing briefly on each one, positioning the brush to massage your gums while also cleaning your tooth.

  • +1

Thank you for this post - you saved me with this deal, plus the $10 off was a big help! Thanks again!

      Hi There,
