Oral-B Genius AI Electric Toothbrush with 3 Heads & Case, Black/White - $219 Delivered ($209 with Welcome Code) @ Shaver Shop

110

For those interested in getting the top of the line Oral-B electric toothbrush (Genuis AI 10000), it is currently on sale for $219, down from the $249 price tag a few days ago. If you buy it as a "new user", you'll get another $10 off (a pop-up window will come up asking you to sign up in exchange for a $10 discount).

Jut ordered mine to replace my Philips electric toothbrush, which is fine until I need to order their replacement heads. From what I learned, the Philips ones have some kind of chip inside used to tell the toothbrush (and owner) when a replacement is needed. A somewhat gimmicky feature that has rendered their replacement heads quite expensive.

Oral-B, on the other hand, doesn't have that and the cost of using one seems to be much cheaper in the long run.

Not gimmicky. Deliberate so owners are forced to. Kinda like chipped printer cartridges.

Yeah, that's just my opinion of course. The Philips toothbrush head already has a feature where the front bristles would lose its colour when a replacement is needed. The built-in chip is a nice addition, but certainly not something I find essential. A simple Siri/Google reminder would work just as well. That being said, the Philips toothbrush does have more of a premium feel to it.

    • Until the day employers put a chip in you to tell them when you are due for replacement.

  • I'm no genius, so I just buy $69 one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/552804

  • Thanks heaps! Got one. My Phillips Sonicare one just died suddenly (just outside the warranty period) and I've missed the circular heads on the Oral-B ones so I'm switching back!

    • No worries, yep the circular heads are something I would like to try. Can't wait to get mine.

  • Waiting with bated breath for the Genius iO.
So, I am going to have to skip this deal as much as I want to hit the purchase button. :-P
