I am currently drinking 2015 Koonunga Hill Shiraz bought for a song and cellared until recently - seriously good bargain drinking if you can put it away for a couple of years.

I see Dans have come to the party price wise - they are quick off the mark.

Buying from other than Dans is always preferable.

    • Thanks for the Dan's tip. They still have stock.

pardon my ignorance, but why is it always preferable to buy from other than Dan Murphy's? partiularly in this case, why is Amazon better?

I like Dan Murphy's. Many convenient locations with easy access for parking, great range, great prices, constant specials.

yeah i don't get it. Even if woolworths group can be kinda scummy, still better to buy from Australian scumbags than American ones.

  • Picked these up in the $10.99 sale at vintage cellars a month or so ago, good value with a historical low of $10 a bottle, so this looks like a good deal.

    Great for cellaring.

    • +1

Haha, historical low of $10 a bottle, that depends how old you are.

I remember these going on sale for $6-$7 a bottle for the original cab/shiraz at your local walk in bottle shop and below $8 everyday at the Original Chappel St Prahran Melbourne Dan Murphy. Most days I don't feel that old,…… yet, but getting there lol.

        Sorry was referencing pricehipster's lowest
        https://pricehipster.com/product/3UlByG8Yxuia2AODItjQbA~SybW…

I have a feeling those days are gone though

        • No need to be sorry as your reference is relevant to currant buyers, where I am a on budget tight arse these days and am just being nostalgic about the past.

I worked many years in the liquor/wine industry, and yes, those good old days before Australian Mass Export Wines are gone.

@ozhunter68: Technically wouldn't they then be more expensive, once you account for inflation? Depends on how many years ago of course, and one could argue the difference in value between different years.

  • How does it compare with
Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet Wine 750ml (Case of 6) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07FD77QPD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i…
    And
Penfolds Koonunga Hill Cabernet Sauvignon Wine 750ml (Case of 6) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07LGYT1BN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i…
    Both similar prices

Just depends what flavor you prefer. I bought both

Suggest you no longer browse OzBargain then

    • Don't get me wrong, I do love my $100 bottles, but for $10 wine not?

    • "lepeyrol" That depends on whether you only drink a few bottles a week, or you And your family and friends drink closer to a dozen per week lol.

    • that's ok, wait till this deal is over and they go back to $15

Thank you op. Bought Penfolds Koonunga Hill Cabernet Sauvignon Wine 750ml (Case of 6).

  • Thanks OP. Just bought a case of 6. Good deal with 10% cashback. Works out < $9 a bottle!

Thanks OP, this is a great drop ( I went for the Shiraz Cabernet ), been drinking it and buying it when on special for a couple of years, and yes the older the better, we have found our favourite to be 2015 vinatge, and found it great with Asian food, Korean BBQ andChinese food.

  • Great deal the Cab sav is also same price, I bought both,

Shame they don't list the year though

    • +1

Year 2017 as I can see image

  • Thanks, ordered Shiraz Cabernet

  • Cashback applies if you have a prime account?! or how is it applied?

  • that went quick!

  • Sorry I bought the last 10 packs.

The Shiraz Cab is also on sale. A better drop IMO. Cellars well. In some years very well.

I went with the Cab Sav since that's my preferred drop.
For the lazy (I do salute you), that and the Shiraz Cab are still available at the same price:
    Cabernet Sauvignon
    Shiraz Cabernet

    • Both links showing OOS

      • I got the cab sav about 20 mins ago.

It showed "5 cases left (more on the way)"

Thanks OP i needed some more cooking wine

    • yep. It's still winter and these would work well in a stew.

  • Got the mywines deal from the other day, can't keep up with the amount of wine bargains I'm getting.

  • +1

George Wyndham Bin 555 Shiraz is better and cheaper. I got both of them a few times
    https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_27703/george-wyndha…

  • Thanks kiwizz - I got the Dan's price match of course not quite as much cash back but still OK with this price.

  • Costco selling at $9.79 / bottle in Vic, another option if you prefer to get less than a box.

  • This Shiraz only gets 3.5 stars on vivino, the reliable ratings site.. $10/bottle seems good for all these otherwise.

  • Did anyone actually receive? Still waiting for delivery date

  • Same, tracking is stuck in Sydney and has so for a few weeks, anybody actually get it?

    • Mines arrived 2-3 weeks ago. Syd.
Edit) mines are Cabernet Sauvignon though.
