Put it on the end of your couch or bed, put it on the floor in the lounge room or bedroom. Not only will it look nice it feels amazing.

      1. If you have a medium-large dog, gently secure the sheepskin to its back with some zip ties.
      2. Head to your local park on a Saturday morning.
      3. Run your own "farmyard petting zoo" in the park and charge $3 per child to spend time with your merino sheep
      4. Profit

I have two dogs, can cut it in half and make twice as much.

        • +1

And THAT is the hallmark of a true OzBargainer.

        • +1

I would advise against cutting the dogs in half, it will make a mess on your new rug.

    • wear it as a coat when you go hunting or gathering

  • +2

Got 3 rugs from the deal on 1st of April. Still using one of them everyday and gave out 2 of them to in-laws + parents. They all love it. Really top quality stuff and price is unbeatable. Highly recommended!

    • -1

How can you be still using all 3 of them every day after giving away 2 of them?

      • +1

I said "using one of them everyday"

        • My bad - I should learn to read…

        • There is no further discount sorry

Thanks OP. Just ordered one after getting approval from my better half.

    • +7

If the approval process didn't go something like this 'hey honey, can we buy an Aussie wool floor rug……and an Nvidia Shield…. floor rug' do you even Ozbargain?

  • Brought.

Anyone know if its possible (how hard would it be) to dye it? I like the idea of it being bright orange …

    • Stick it in orange dye and follow the packet instructions.

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/207ml-Apricot-Orange-Fabric-Dye-…

      • +1

No, that's a synthetic fibre dye. Not only will it not work on animal fibres, but it requires boiling for a long time, which would absolutely clobber the wool/leather as well as being very difficult to do with something so large. (Rit also has a bad reputation amongst fibre artists for generally being sh*t.)

        • I'm looking for a cotton dye. I have two pants that I want to dye because the colours are just far too eccentric. Will bleaching cotton with hydrogen peroxide work?

          • @Orico: I doubt it, I don't think it's very strong. Try using a dye colour remover (reductive discharge type bleach eg sodium hydrosulphite), like you can get from Sp0tlight, eg this. W00lies and C0les used to stock it in the laundry aisle but I don't think they have it any more. Your mileage may vary, depending on which dyes were used in the process, but many times you can get white. (It's used as a paste in printing to get white print on dyed fabric, or whiten it to be printed a different colour.) Much gentler on clothing than chlorine bleach.

Cotton is pretty easy to dye, you'd probably be safe with R1t etc as long as it says it's for cotton (& other plant-based fibres) or "multi-purpose" where they chuck a whole lot of different types in and you see which sticks. If you want a reliable specific colour, I'd go a fibre arts specialist, else just grab a packet from the aforementioned shops. There used to be Dyl0n widely available and the cold water dye for natural fibres was better quality than the hot water multipurpose as well as being more practical for larger projects, but I don't think that's around? See what you can find and read the packet instructions and google reviews for it :) Good luck!

Use a wool dye. You'll want to do it low temperature in a bath, or else you'll felt it and wreck the soft leather too.

Get it from a specialist, don't get the regular crappy ones from spotlight etc. Eg https://www.kraftkolour.net.au/dyes/wool-and-silk-dyes/lands…

Do NOT use the dye suggested from Rit, terrible suggestion if well-intended.

You'll need to weigh the rug dry and order enough according to the dye instructions to get the proper depth of shade. It'll need a lot. Make sure you're VERY gentle with moving the merino around in a wet bath or you'll felt the fibres. Rinse very gently too, beware of regular soap. Perhaps a wool detergent. Some vinegar or citric acid in the rinse will help close up the cuticles on the wool to help prevent felting. Drip dry. I'm sure there's tutorials out there. You might need to moisturise the leather afterwards, not sure.

Since it's a natural fibre, you won't achieve BRIGHT BRIGHT orange, you need a synthetic fibre for that.

  • is it safe to leave it in front of a gas log fireplace? my dog loves sleeping there and this would be nice and comfy for her

    • This is too hard to tell, always use caution with real fur and fire.

    • I think this rule of thumb works, if where your dog sleeps and its fur does not catch on fire, I don't think a sheep skin will either. Just my thoughts.

    • +1

I thought wool is flame resistant?

I doubt it would ignite if your dog doesn't. Practically the same thing.

    • +2

It's not easy to catch on fire. Wool rugs are often used in front of open fireplaces. Fleece rugs even more so. That said, exercise the usual caution and sense etc, but you're not using it with an open fireplace spitting embers, you should be absolutely fine. It definitely won't spontaneously combust or anything. Think about your hair in front of a gas fire. Or your dog.

      • Wool rugs often used in front of open fires ;-)

Think I saw a video ..named something like "Shaggin' Ski Safari…"

  • I got one from the last deal and wished i bought 2 so I'm happy this deal is back it's exellent value. Thank you

  • This will give me the achoos

  • +2

I bought a couple of these last time and will buy a couple more again.

High quality product and delivered in three business days (MEL —> SYD) which wasn't bad given COVID shenanigans.

  • Thanks decided to get one. I've got the $13 polyster one from Ikea so will give this a go

    • Chalk and Cheese :). Thanks for the support

      • Plastic and Wool?

    • I got the ones from Ikea too. Bought 2 from this deal so we'll see how they compare. The Ikea ones can go into the bin soon.

      • The IKEA ones can go INTO the fire!

  • Ordered. Not usually a snap decision buyer but have been wanting one for ages and just moved into a house with a gas heater the kids & I will laze in front of. This looks good and soft. Thanks.

    • Oh yeah and any pets we bring home will hog it lol, they'll love it, now it's much easier to have pets in rentals in Vic now! Yay can't wait!

  • @UggAustraliaOfficial Thank you for the good product. I ordered two.
I'm thinking of making an additional purchase.
I live in Australia now, and I wonder if I can ship this product abroad.

    • +1

Yes you can, we sell them at all international airports.

      • I'm sorry to keep interrupting you.
Then I wonder if it is possible to set the destination of the package overseas when I purchase it on the website.

        • +2

Unfortunately we cant, the reason is that the American company Deckers blocked us from sending anything with UGG on it overseas.

  • Bought one for an expecting mum, cheers OP.

    • +1

      Aww perfect for a baby!!

      • +2

Nah, she's just expecting one of these!

  • Can you tell me the cleaing instructions please?

    • +1

We recommend dry clean but you can cold hand wash and dry out of the sun, then comb the wool straight.

      • Thankyou!
        Just ordered 2 :)

  • +1

Have an upvote from me too, I bought one last time and had no issues.

  • Just brought three! Just need need to decide whether i gift a couple to our dogs or the in-laws, but i think i just answered my own question.

  • +1

I was going to buy 2 for the kids to sleep on for the rest of Winter. After reading so many Ozbargainers bought them for their pets now I am not so sure! ;X

    • +3

Why? Do you love your kids less than they love their pets?

  • Thanks OP - sitting here working with my feet freezing on a crappy, thin rug - bought one

  • +1

I ordered ugg boots from Ugg Australia via a deal on OzBargain in March and have still not received the correct pair. I have sent multiple emails asking for the pair to be sent or for a refund and have had not response. I do not recommend buying from Ugg Australia.

  • +1

Thank you - good deal. Much better than giving my money to IKEA.

  • It's back in stock. Just ordered one.

  • Is that Australian made or Australian Killed?🤔

    • Tonights shanks could've been from the owner of our new rugs

  • My labrador is in for a treat.

  • why you don't mention the size? very suspicious

  • -5

Might be 100% Aussie made but shame that 100% of the profits go overseas :(

    • +2

I'm sorry your are misinformed. 100% of our profits stay in Australia. We are not the American company.

  • Got one… any deals on Ugg Boots? Mine are falling apart after a decade of use & it's still cold :)

  • Does you support 100% Australian Lambs? ;)

  • Excellent as underblanket (between mattress and bottom sheet. Ditch the electric blankie and sleep on this. Instant warmth. Nothing beats wool.
