If you have to reward people to use your search engine, reward them by giving them relevant results.

I use Bing to search for Google to then search for what I want…

What can you get with Microsoft Rewards? Their 'redeem' section wants me to sign up to see it.

    • Mostly just like, Xbox live gold, Xbox/MS money, game pass. They also have Coles & JB Hifi gift cards but they cost a lot more points than the xbox stuff.

I use Bing for exactly one thing: To find the download link for Firefox.

Curious to know what the monetary value of 500 points is and how much privacy I need to give?

500 points won't get you much. If you log into the app and do the searches, clicking, etc, you can get around 300 points a day. It takes me about 20-30 days to get a $5 JB gift voucher (6,750 points), and you can get it a bit quicker if you load the rewards app on an XBOX as there's additional rewards and they even give you 50 points for every achievement you earn, so if you can be bothered spending a couple of minutes a day on it (while you're killing time), then you get something out of it.

Bing search results do suck, but hey, at least you're getting something for it, unlike Google that's using that same info and you get nothing out of it.

      • Google search results aren't anything to write home about though

    • 5,000 points gets you a $5 Microsoft voucher.
6,750 points for a $5 JB, Coles, David Jones or Myer voucher.

So 500 points is less than $1. Not worth it.

Bing video search is great for certain 'things'

  • I force my self to use bing to get points, it gets pretty bad sometimes. The results seem to be more relevant for users in the states. Even when I set everything to Australia.

    • The easiest way is to use the new ChrEdge, then download the Chrome extension that does the searches automatically, along with the quizzes (semi-automatically). I do it each morning when I fire up the PC and it does its thing while I feed the cat, and so on.

omg thanks so much haha I didnt know you could do that

        • Yeah, means you get the points with almost no effort without having to use the abortion that is Bing. The definition of win-win :-D

i think theres a way to create a script and have it run at a scheduled time. Link

i havent tried this yet as im still trying to get my server machine set up.
ive been usinig the chrome extension and its amazing.

ive set up a second chrome profile and considering setting up a third profile to collect these points.

      • What's the name of that extension?

        • I found one on chrome called Automated Bing Searches, but its only on chrome. I reckon Edge blocks any attempts to automate searches

    LOL Bing

  • I will give them 500 more to stop this deal

  • Some of these comments here are so that they can look cool hating on Bing. I myself don't like Bing, but we are on ozbargain. Set Bing as default. earn points and go back to what you were on.

  • I got extra storage on OneDrive with a bing promo a couple of years ago. I thought I would lose it but I havent. $140GB.
