[NSW, VIC] 10% off First Order of Wagyu Beef (Excluding Sale Items, Email Regist. Required) @ Osawa Enterprises

70

I've just started the carnivore for health reasons and came across an awesome supplier of high quality Wagyu beef that delivers. After watching a tonne of YouTubes on how to start the carnivore diet lots of the experts recommends going really high fat with lots of salt to taste to avoid the keto flu. I started off with supermarket meat but found it hard to find a nicely marbled steak where the fat wasn't clumped in one spot. That's when I came across Wagyu beef, a high fat nicely marbled meat. I've been on the diet for 2 weeks now, feeling awesome and because I followed the advice on going high fat I didn't hit the keto flu. Wagyu is expensive but the site I found had some really affordable specials and a 10% discount on the first order. You have to wait a minute for the 10% offer popup to show. Hope this helps others :-)

So another "alternative" diet program that claims it is better than every other diet program because of "science".

    • -4

it's alternative until it actually works

Perhaps you should also watch why carnivore diet isn't sustainable, for the environment and for yourself

        • This is about my health not the environment. I either get debilitating migraines and can't work or get out of bed for days or I eat meat and the problem goes away. I don't know why my body works this way it just does. I did a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis and I discovered I was copper toxic. Probably from all the organic Copper Sulfate they put on veggies these days. I tried taking zinc to antagonise the copper but I got even worse on it as the copper started dumping from my body. So I looked for an alternative source of zinc and found meat was the highest of all foods and it's bioavailable zinc so my body can just use it. Once I started on the eating only meat my health improved dramatically.

          • @missmoneypenny: Does supermarket beef also work? Are you just buying this ridiculously expensive beef because you enjoy it more or because that is all that works?

            • @Luo18740: Any meat is good. It's important to go for a high fat content meat when starting so you don't get the keto flu. I just prefer the beef to have a marbled fat content for taste.

              • @missmoneypenny: Fair enough. I can't afford any of this anyway. I once had what they called a Wagyu Porterhouse steak in a restaurant that cost $95 and didn't notice any difference from the average $30 steak.

@missmoneypenny: Did a lengthy period of keto a couple of years back.. I found electrolytes resolved keto flu pretty much immediately. I used Ultima zero-calorie electrolyte powder, but I think you can get cheaper alternatives locally now (eg: https://www.bulknutrients.com.au/products/electrolyte-blend/)

@missmoneypenny: You'll also not have any fibre, be at risk of blood pressure/cholesterol problem and have mad bowel movements.

Copper toxic, from what, vegetables? I eat a lot of non-organic vegetables, so unless you were eating more than me, I doubt your toxicity is from vegetables, could something underlying, or in the water. Talk to a doctor

            • @dengziyi: I don't know where my copper toxicity comes from. I have a water filter and bought organic veggies which can be way more expensive than meat. It's possible I've had it since childhood or my genes aren't good at making enough ceruloplasmin to bind to the copper. Apparently once a person is copper toxic it ends up in a feedback loop where the body is unable to make it bioavailable. Trying to find low copper food was a nightmare. No one tells you if they use organic copper pesticides and finding out how much copper is in food is also difficult. Honestly if I last only 10 years and feel as good as I do now or I go back to eating veggies and last another 40 years in pain I'd take the 10 good years hands down. My bowel movements are fine. I'm regular once a day, as an added benefit have lost 5kg and 2% body fat, sleep really well and am full of energy :-)

@missmoneypenny: Did your blood test and doctor (ie an actual expert) say you were copper toxic too?

            • -8

@star-ggg: I did a HMTA which is a tissue biopsy of the hair. It's better for analysing minerals and heavy metals as the blood tries to stay in homeostasis. The body will store excess copper in the blood in the the tissues. Forget doctors, they just want to prescribe pills and botox.

….and if you haven't seen it yet. there was a recent detailed fairfax article on it. Fairly well balanced.

      https://www.smh.com.au/national/i-f-ing-love-meat-the-athlet…

      • +1

Well balanced as in it promotes both extremes and offers nothing of substance. At the end of the day it dosen't matter what diet you go on- you can be healthy and unhealthy depending on how well you are controlling your intake of macro and micro nutrients. Humans need micro nutrients to survive. Athletes need to eat the macro ratios optimised to their sport. Gen pop with mostly sedentary lifestyles just need a balanced diet with controlled calorie intake.

        • Yes, there is probably no diet for everyone.

But the message of a balanced diet and get more exercise has been around for decades. There is little doubt that eating the same calories than you expend is going to be healthy. But the reality shows just how useless this advice is. Yes, it works for some people, no doubt about that.

Just look at dietitians themselves! We have very smart, and extremely well educated people who know exactly what the eating guidelines are, they have all the tools at their disposal. Yet they suffer pretty much the same rates of obesity as the general population. Go to any dietitian conference, I have, and see for yourself.

Seriously, how is this advice working out?

          • @ChickenTalon: And these dietitians would be just as obese with carnivore, keto, paleo, vegan, mediterranean or whatever. If you don't have the discipline and/or knowledge to maintain a healthy balance diet then you won't be able to maintain a healthy whatever diet either.

How does pooping work on a carnivore diet? Not much fibre…

    • +1

If you eat enough, you get the runs from the fat content. If you don't eat enough, you get more jammed than Aldi on a Saturday

    • +1

You haven't lived until you've taken a fibre free dump. It's liberating'*. Takes me as long to poop as it does to pee, the stuff just falls out. You're only eating stuff your body can use, so you poop (well I do) a lot less, 2-3 days between poops.

'* Once you've gone through the adaptation period. There are a few weeks where your body adjusts to no fibre, it's unpleasant.

    Ahhh. The bowel cancer diet.
